Your channel is like a lifeline for my U8G lol. Thanks for another super informative video! It's so cool that Hisense is still putting tons of work into their firmware, which benefits TV's that are now years old instead of only focusing on rolling out and supporting new TVs. I'm amazed that you're not seeing blooming. With my current M0210 firmware, Moon Knight was actually really bad when local dimming was on high. TONS of blooming in dark scenes, and there is always light bleed into the letterbox bars. Needless to say I'm looking forward to the update. I'm still having this odd ghosting in the form of vertical black bars when transitioning from dark to light scenes. Fingers crossed that it's fixed. If not hopefully I can switch out the panel.

Vertical bars is in the change logs for m0422 as something they’ve corrected (change logs leaked on Reddit). Moon Knight looks amazing on my panel, which is why i wanted to feature it. Blacks were crushed a touch in the video because the exposure was set based on the Fortnite footage and of course Moon Knight is much darker; however, it was still a great showcase for black bars and blooming. Let me know how everything goes once you get the new update in the coming weeks.

@@qwazyd0gg awesome! Yeah Moon Knight has some boldly dark cinematography. It sort of did what The Long Night (GoT) was trying to do but succeeded. On the U8G you can still see tons of detail in the shadows. So if the blooming and vertical bars are fixed I'll be stoked. The black levels it can achieve with local dimming on high are stunning. I've had it on medium for months because of this issue.

@@qwazyd0gg i have said this to you before but it needs repeating, yes you have vrr turn on, on your x|s but if you don't have freesync turned on, in the the tv's setting then the vrr/adaptivesync/freesync is not functioning on your tv. its all being done through software vrr from the xbox. and i suspect that if you properly turn on freesync in the tv settings local dimming will be greyed out. Also where are you getting these firmwares? the M0L20 just came out.

Man I literally just call Hisense 4 hours ago they picked up on the first ring literally. They send me this update and man as soon as I installed it 100% I could tell the difference motion is magnificent it is literally a new tv man i was blown away. Usually i dial my settings in but u dont have to do anything. The update is perfect its next to crystal clear.

I was blown away by the motion enhancements in this update! On launch the tv had amazing motion, but it kept getting progressively worse and worse with every update. Now it’s better than day 1.

I was to with the update but it look better now than I first got it on tip this TV hangs with the big boys like LG sony and Samsung If hisense take what they learned from this TV and improve it will be the best mid range TV you can buy I bought the 65 inch model over sony and save about 1500 dollars

I can tell with a ultimate calibration in a darker environnement, the active contrast set in low pop really sweet the colour/contour in the 7ug 👀 Compare to before it was fine but it was kinda flat like it missing something. Even in a light environnement!! Its so smooth mmm 🤤

The OTA came down, and the new upgrade seemed to cure all of my U8G's previous ills, but then I discovered that going from an outside source (IE cable box or PS5) back to the TV's Netflix app the sound dropped on my atmos soundbar. I had to use my PS5 to watch Netflix. Sound setting set to Dolby digital plus.

@@qwazyd0gg did on pass through, still happens. When I first enter the app, it makes the Netflix "sound" but when go to watch Ozark, I get no sound.

It seems that way. I want to spend some time and try and deep dive between the 2 quality presets. I don’t see a difference personally, but others swear there’s a difference in clarity and HDR between Picture Quality and Text Quality presets. Might have to do some side by side comparisons and macro shots on the pixels on a pc at 100% scaling to see

@@qwazyd0gg yes there is a little more res or you may say clarity i noticed that i had to put my sharpness 2 tics down to match my old preset so it looks like the clarity is up a little , Maybe some placibo effect can contribute to the fact that sharpness and active contrast is working. I be doing a vid soon on these small details but overall this is great firmware.

I'm so happy to have just found your channel. I've had my 65U8G for almost a year now. I had been enjoying it for the most part. I knew it wasn't prefect but it was a huge upgrade over my last TV. Then i switched from a soundbar that only had an optical connection to one with HDMI and found the audio/video sync issue (I have also tested this with an AVR and different HDMI cables). Most of my content is streamed from the apps from the TV itself and some light gaming on my Xbox 1. I had read that changing the audio from auto to PCM helps, and it does, but i noticed when changing sources or even streamers that sometimes the connection between the TV and soundbar gets messed up and i get no audio. Does this update have a fix? I called Hisense about it 3 weeks ago and they instructed me to do a factory reset and call back if the issues persists and I just haven't had the time to. Does this update have a fix? I'll have to go back to see if you address this issue in any of your other videos. Thanks for keeping the community informed.

The change logs on the update say they’ve address sync issues with Dolby feeds, which is what I use personally for Atmos support.

@@qwazyd0gg Thanks for the quick reply. I will keep an eye out for the update and hope for better performance. It is an Atmos bar so perhaps that is the issue. Had you run into this issue as well? I imagine if you are running a Denon AVR most of your connections are through HDMI.

I run everything into the Denon first and then to the TV; however, I’ve read a lot about the differences between pcm and bitstream audio. At the end of the day it’s all digital ones and zeros, but with pcm there is a lot more to calculate between both your tv and soundbar to make the handshake, whereas if you send it at Dolby directly (changing in sound settings), then the soundbar needs to do less to convert/read the file before playing it. Give it a try and let me know how you make out.

Hi, Qwazzy I thought I would submit a problem I've noticed that hasn't been mentioned so you can ask Hisense to see if they are aware of it. There is a definite problem with the TV overriding the Microsoft HDR calibration tool. I'm guessing it's a capatabilty issue. This is why a lot of people are experiencing washed out or week colors when using HDR. You can tell if the HDR tool is experiencing problems when you need to click the Dpad numerous times when dialing in HDR calibration. It should only take a few clicks to calibrate and you should get perfect calibration quickly. If you need to hit Dpad numerous times to dial in HDR then the Calibration tool becomes useless because your tv is trying to override it. This results in a blown out visual - way too much white over correction and everything looks washed out. This capatabilty problem has been an issue since the tv came out and it desperately needs a fix or using Microsoft's Tool actually makes the picture a lot worse. I am 100% positive this is happening with Xbox consoles.

@@qwazyd0gg Yes, the TV is trying to override the the tool and it causes wash out. I watched an in depth video of a well known reviewer talking about this same issue with the new Samsung TV he reviewed. I'm like wow finally someone is seeing this issue and providing an explanation for why it's happening. It was the exact same thing I have been experiencing since I bought the Hisense. I've always felt there was an issue because there have been a few times that the tool actually worked like it should and you could tell instantly it was working because you only had to click the Dpad right about 3-4 clicks and the squares perfectly matched up. The problem though is that it wouldn't stay calibrated. Meaning once you fired the console up later and went back to the tool the squares were no longer matching so the TV did eventually override again. I don't think Hisense even knows about it. I'm guessing once it's brought to their attention it can be fixed. Samsung is working on a fix.

To my knowledge they only difference between the two TVs are the panel type. They both run the same processor and mediatek hdmi controller. Or at least as far as I’m aware

M0210 did wonders for me. The TV was great but had banding issues and motion was not good sometimes. But after the update, banding is almost non existent, still a little, but no tv is perfect. Motion is a lot better, DSE is nowhere near as noticeable now. I love the picture now without any "exceptions"

M0210 is an odd update because it’s been so rock solid for some, and mildly problematic for others. M0422 began hitting panels last Friday and should be releasing slowly over the next couple of weeks, and it’s the best update so far.

If you run a beta build then all other OTA updates get disabled. When you are done with a beta and download the official release then all other official releases will be OTA again.

@Qwazyd0gg as usual, another quality video, tips and information related to Hisense TVs. I received the latest update and installed it (which is quite easy, just follow the steps Qwazy gives you & follow them folks) The update has fixed several issues for me including the active contrast, HDR being washed out and the local dimming problems. I sent a Facebook message to Hisense just saying I know the M0422 update would fix several problems I have with my u7g. I also tweeted at Hisense on Twitter with the same message. Both of their social media accounts responded with the link and instructions on how to download the M0422 update. Took less than 24 hours to get a response. In my opinion the update has fixed numerous issues and the picture quality of my u7g has improved. Not exponentially but improved nonetheless. The features they added and fixes they made with this update were more of the focus anyway. However, to be fair, I'm also fairly certain this latest firmware update wasn't about turning a Hisense u7g or u8g TV into an LG C1 OLED in terms of picture quality :)

Before doing the update I had a variation of Standard set up that I liked gaming on. Was nice and punchy; however, sideloading factory reset the TV, so now I’m just gaming in the Game HDR preset and honestly it’s more than good enough for me.

@Qwazyd0gg bro you rock!! This video has quite the gems I needed for troubleshooting! Now as for me, I have the audio issues, drops outs, distorted audio, many times unplugging the power doesn't help from both TV and speaker? Factory reset both devices, same issue. I have the U8G 55" with Bose 900 sound bar, using eARC. I've exchanged the speaker with Bose directly 3x......Hisense has came out and replaced the firmware board in the tv having the HDMI connections, still have the random audio drop out watching any source.....TV apps, Fios cable box, Chromecast, etc. I loaded the M0422 firmware yesterday (7/25/22) for now and will monitor because after reading these comments, I noticed I still had M0210. I can't tell if this is a TV or sound bar issue? Tried optical (but defeats eARC), new HDMI cable, CEC-HDMI option 5 on the Bose app, I leave the TV audio on passthrough, so I won't experience audio delay but since the update M0422, auto has no delay now! The audio has been an issue since owning both TV and speaker under a year? Hisense has a new firmware update 55U8G_55U6FUA_M0704.zip but cannot download it until it sends me a Sharing Link Validation code. Resend code doesn't help. Hope this M0422 solves my issues?

Try taking the audio off either auto or passthrough and set it to a Dolby codec. It will help with a ton of the issues as well

Did I just find a big problem? I just installed this update from the factory original firmware, via USB since OTA wasn't working. Now I no longer have access to the on screen keyboard. I refuse to let it listen in 24/7 and disabled the mic, and I use to be able to pull up the on screen keyboard when searching the app store, making inputs, etc.

Try digging into the settings for keyboard settings, and also possibly unpairing the Bluetooth from the remote to disable the built in microphone.

@@qwazyd0gg thanks for the quick reply. I ended up doing a reboot while trying to also troubleshoot why the screensaver isn't showing my Google ambient personal albums, and I noticed the keyboard started working again. Just odd since the tv had to reboot after the update already.

IM on my second set now FFS. First tv lasted a week and then dead pixels random power offs and a line in the middle of my screen and im drilling hisence for future updates and quality control along with a big lecture of releasing a tv in such state with broken features .OHH and the screen saver is broken now with this firmware. Just fantastic .Does freesync work good on your pc any artifacting ?

I wonder if the enhancements are causing the issues since it’s artificially done in the panel, yet the screenshot itself is taken from the raw signal being sent to the TV 🤷‍♂️ It will be very apparent if you’re using a card with hdmi 2.0 as well as anything over 60hz uses BFI (black frame insertion) that may be getting captured from the source being sent.

I had this TV but had to return it due to terrible inverse ghosting when console gaming. example Resident evil village was not playable to me eyes. Glowing artifacts around edges etc. My LG C1 has no issues. I know updates were supposed to fix this but i keep hearing users say the ghosting is still there. Any thoughts regarding this issue and this update?

I personally see no ghosting while gaming in 60 or 120hz. Did you try the manual TCON update on your panel when you had it?

@@qwazyd0gg I tried anything at my disposal at that time. I got it back in May 2021 but have been keeping my eye on the forums and it's status since i want to replace a basement television. I have never been able to confirm if the ghosting was addressed 100% but it was a total deal breaker as one of it's primary uses would be gaming.

Up until yesterday I was no longer having problems with my soundbar, but with the same issues previous to the update, the TV suddenly doesn't connect with the soundbar, eARC is greyed out and it reverts back to the TV speakers. Is this a software issue or do I have a faulty TV that requires service, because this is getting really annoying.

Still no fix for incorrect EOTF and no fix for basic ARC/EARC being broken.....thank goodness my H9G is still perfect and I didnt buy one of these....maybe the U8H will get it right.

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if we never get it. I anticipate seeing it on the new TVs, but it all depends on what processor the new TV has. If it’s a similar mediatek processor, then they may backdate the old TVs too, but if they redo the processor I think we’ll see more focus on launching new software for a new chipset than updating older units. Purely speculation of course.

I haven’t recalibrated it since installed M0422 as sideload installs reset all modifications made such as presets. For now I am honestly just using theatre night and Dolby vision IQ factory settings and have been enjoying them

My personal settings all were erased as I sideloaded my update since I got it before the OTA rollout. Most of my content I watch is in Dolby Vision, so I just let Dolby Vision IQ do the work for me

I find it ok for some SDR content, but I found it crushed my shadows too much while gaming, plus it could increase latency with the extra processing in panel. I turn everything extra off almost 100% of the time, with the exception of a little noise reduction for older content.

I’m actively using 6 different Hisense TVs in my home, some as old as 5 years old. Only concern I’ve ever had was one model H8G had its panel burnt out; however, Hisense sent someone to my home to replace the main board and timing board due to the issues it had. Once they were sure it was the panel, they replaced it under warranty and took the old one away. Every other TV (5 others) have not had a single issue

Well this update kill my audio. Optical port cutting in and out. HDMI arc/earc cutting in and out apps wont work saying problem with hdmi not connected error. It a pain in the ass.

That sucks! I haven’t encountered any as I’m pumped audio into an AVR first and only ingesting video into the TV. Check feedback on the AV Forums to see if others have found issues and solutions.

Hi, I have a Xbox series s and use a 2.1 Hdmi cable on my Hisense U7G tv. The tv supports 120 fps at 4k so I should be able to play 1440p/120pfs however in my Xbox display settings if I select 120fps it defaults to 1080p and 1440p/60fps. My Hisense settings menu doesn’t offer me the option to enable hdmi advance settings. Anyone have an suggestions?

The series s have 1440/120 disabled behind a software lock. Even though hdmi 2.0 is able of that spec, I think the series s maybe have been incapable of fluid performance at that range, hence the block.

It’s a tough call because you can’t turn auto update off. Meaning the next rollout will auto install if you have your tv on wifi. From what I’m hearing there’s a new beta out to address the audio issues some have in m0414.

I'd really love to know your insite on why the Google photos don't work with the screen saver settings on the U7G TV it let's you connect on the Google home app but not in the TV settings. It just stays as the out of the box chromecast Profesional pictures.

Oh that I’m not too sure. My Google Photos is riddled with maintenance pictures from work, so I typically don’t screensaver my devices (Android TVs, Google Home Hubs, etc). I can try it at some point on M0414 and see if it works though. Fit me up on socials sometime and remind me (Same username).

I haven’t noticed any banding; however, on the original L series I had a bit of ghosting that was corrected by the update. The panel 10bit frc so it should handle colors fine otherwise. I don’t know if they still have it, but Hisense was doing a 100 day guarantee if your dissatisfied

As far as I know the Aussie model doesn’t support HDMI 2.1, so both will be on a fairly level playing field. The U8G may have better blooming control and slightly better 60hz gaming support thanks to more FALD zones and it being a VA panel; however, the trade off with the U7G is sheer size. It’s a tough call man, but since I’ve never seen the 75” IPS U7G in person I’m not too sure how close of a contest the quality is between the two :(

I just called and requested the M0422 firmware update and he was acting like something had to be wrong in 9rder to get it, so I told him my digital delay was way off which it is. If anyone knows how to fix this outside of the allowable setting in the delay on the remote and in tv settings, I would love to hear. Thanks!

I'm not sure tbh. I was having tons of issues with inputs changing; however. once i turned off CEC everything was resolved. I wonder if the CEC could be impacting the power selections on the TV too.

Android TV is solid and not exclusive to this panel. CEC is I think “Consumer Electronic Control”…. I don’t know what the letters stand for, but it’s a setting that allows other devices to work with each other more intelligently. So if you turn on your gaming console, then the tv turns on and also changes inputs. That’s CEC doing that.

I prefer medium, but it’s all personal preference. I find it doesn’t blow out the highlights as much as high does, and also lifts the shadows just a bit to reduce black crush compared to high.

They hit different regions and/or serial numbers over the course of a couple weeks. Think the last one was 4-6 weeks. There are A LOT of TVs out there and staggered rollouts help manufactured reduce server strain and test the releases in smaller batches in case changes need to be made mid cycle.

Can the 55U8G use FreeSync with VRR enabled at 4k@60hz & 4k@120hz? Also I just tested and it looks like local dimming may not work with FreeSync, let me know if I'm wrong.

Local dimming is disabled across all sizes of your using Freesync; however, it will work if you use HDMI level VRR. I have a video on this topic on my channel.

Based on feedback I’ve acquired from Hisense R&D: “By design, LocalDimming will automatically turn off when Freesync switch is on and the input signal has Freesync tag.” It would appear that if the VRR signal has the Freesync handshake coding, the LD is disabled. Not sure how you’re getting Freesync to work in conjunction with LD properly otherwise. With Freesync off, the TV ignored the Freesync handshake and let’s HDMI VRR take over, which is where the VRR is coming from for tasks such as gaming. Am I missing something else here?

@@JacerXw You can't. Local dimming is automatically shut off with Freesync enabled. However, VRR and Freesync are the same thing. Just different technologies that do VRR, Gsync being another one. To enable local dimming simply turn Freesync off. If you have a u7g or U8g the TV itself has VRR on board via HDMI 2.1 People sometimes think VRR is something different from Gsync & Freesync but they're actually all just different technology approaches to the same thing, which is VRR. So think Beta Max and VCR. Both do the same thing, they play back video tapes but they use two different technology approaches. Same with HDR and Dolby Vision or Dolby V Atmos and DTSx. Again the same things, just different technological approaches to solving the same problem or providing the same feature (s) set (s)

Received this update last week. Ever since then, occasionally my Bose surround sound system cuts out, then suddenly comes back on with a screeching crackle sound for about three seconds. It corrects itself after that. I thought it might be my optical cable, so I purchased a new one. Still has the issue. Reset my Bose system. The same issue occurred yet again. Hooked my Bose up to another TV and it never happened. Anyone else experienced this problem since the update? I never had this issue prior to the latest update.

You’re the second one I’ve heard with an audio issue. What audio option are you using to output from the TV? Also, have you tried enabling and disabling eARC (I understand you’re not using ARC at all, but worth the step for information collection).

I originally had my audio option set to auto, then set it to PCM. I had read on Reddit that setting it to Dolby Audio may help. I'm going to try that and see if that helps.

I have always had eARC disabled from the start, since my Bose system doesn't support ARC via HDMI port (only optical) and I have my PS5 hooked into the eARC port on my TV.

When running the Series X, what's the difference between Instant Game Response and FreeSync? Should I have them both on? I noticed the screen was darker with FreeSync on, and with Instant Game Response I was able to see VRR working. And have Game Mode on as well the whole time? Thanks!

Freesync is slightly more sensitive and capable of adjusting down to the lower 40s for frame dips, where VRR is mid 40s for its lowest dip. Local dimming algorithms can’t run in tandem with Freesync algorithms, so if Freesync is on then local dimming is off. I haven’t encountered a console game that needed the extra 1-5 frame drop support of Freesync, so leaving that off let’s local dimming and VRR work together very well with a high level of support

So instant game response optimizes internal tv settings to reduce and limit input lag. VRR is Variable Refresh Rate, which matches the TV frame processing to the frame rate being sent to the panel to return judder and tearing while gaming.

Hi. This video is full of great information. Do you have a video where you go over the UK variant? I bought it not knowing there was a different but it left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth (especially as the website doesnt mention it). I'm trying to use mine on my PC through a HDMI 2.1 cable but i cant see any resolutions over 1024p and theyre all fixed at 60hz. I hope you can help me :( many thanks

Unfortunately due to regional regulations the U8G/U88G only supports HDMI 2.0 for a max resolution of 3840x2160 at 60Hz. Although it had a native 120Hz, the full 120Hz can only be leveraged by streaming apps :(

Hdmi 2.0 is capable of 1080p @ 120hz on Pc or series x Xbox.

If you’re using an Nvidia GPU, you should be able to force the resolution in Nvidia Control panel. My H9G with HDMI 2.0 does it through Nvidia, but the native Windows display settings won’t let me pick 120Hz.

I’ve heard people already started receiving M0422 as an over the air update as early as last Friday and more throughout this week. It will take a couple weeks to hit everyone, but it’s coming!

the mo422 updated fixes the active contract issue with HDR and Dolby Vision gaming. I've installed the update myself and on my Xbox Series X everything is now working as intended

I'm running a U7G with a 3070 ti and having issue @ 120hz. TV works fine 4k 60hz but to switch to 120hz I have to select 'PC' in the nvidia panel resolutions and, if it works, I get blurry windows text. Currently trying to find a better HDMI cable. What makes it more odd is I first used a 3060 with an older but beefy HDMI cable and had no problem showing 120hz.

I had the same thing with my 3060. Resolution options didn’t display a 120hz 4K option in Nvidia control panel, but after I switched the windows refresh rate to 120hz in display settings I was able to see an entirely new “pc” setting which allowed me to use 120hz.

I’m using a 2070 Super on the U8G 4K 120hz. I don’t get hdr though because rtx 2070 super doesn’t have hdmi 2.1. I’m using the Zeskit Maya 48gbps 16ft cable and it works great. One thing I noticed when switching from hdr 60hz to sdr 120hz in windows, I had to go to advanced display settings and switch from 120hz to 60hz and back to 120hz to get it to work.

Are you able to read text? 4K 120hz should only run in a max of 4:2:0 on 18gbps hdmi 2.0 unless the panel is forcing BFI, which is a frame skipped 60hz

For me, the text was blurry because, even though I set the resolution to 3840x2160p 120hz, Windows was setting the active signal mode or the desktop mode to 1920x1080p in the advanced display settings. The only way to fix it was to click on display adapter properties, list all modes, then switch to 4k 60hz and apply, then go back into list all modes and switch to 4k 120hz. Now both desktop modes and active signal mode show 4k 120hz, SDR only for me since I don’t have a 3000 series yet. I can do hdr at 60hz though and it looks amazing. Tested hdr 60hz on Genshin Impact. VRR works too with gsync enabled in nvidia control panel at 120hz. I hope to upgrade to 3080 soon so I can try out the hdr in 120hz. I received the m0422 update yesterday.

Dear sir, I own the u8g 55”. My brother has the u7g 65”. His picture out of the box blows mine away. I did use custom settings from another RU-vidr for my tv. Do you have settings to share with viewers for my tv.

Honestly they should be similar. For me, I just use out of the box SDR, HDR settings in the Theatre Night preset with the backlight set to medium. For Dolby Vision I use Dolby Vision IQ. Are you both using the smart TV features to view content, or external streaming devices?

78 and 88 are Canadian U8 and U7. U7 has less FALD zones than U8 (1000 nits vs 1500 nits) and does not have the TCON board update to limit/reduce ghosting

Man this update really made this tv what I wanted but any reason why on hdr mode it dims down and isn’t as bright as to when it’s on Dolby vision or standard ? It just doesn’t hit those 1500 nits

Do you use active contrast at all? Other than that you can check your local dimming settings. Is it in an onboard app or an external player that it’s dimmer?

It’s been a staggered rollout all throughout North America. I would have assumed everyone would have received it by now; however, my U7G did not as of a couple weeks ago so I chose to sideload it. You can ask Hisense directly for the update file if you need it to correct issues with the TV

Someone else mentioned that too. I run my audio directly into my AVR first, so I haven’t experienced it. Check the comments though because I know others have been sharing feedback for the same concern.

I'm also having this issue but my sound will cut out for 10 seconds or so and then come back on without me touching anything. It's pretty frustrating. It happens pretty randomly but enough to annoy you.

In your audio settings, take it off either auto or passthrough and try one of the Dolby codecs. It might be a bandwidth issue where the TV can’t process the signal efficiently enough. I’ve read higher levels of success using Dolby, which will also let it work with things like Atmos.

That is correct, I changed it from auto to Dolby digital, and haven't experience the problem so far, I have test it for a few days but it seems it worked.

Hey @Qwazyd0gg! I just received the M0422! I downloaded then file then extracted the file taking the zip off the file. I then formated my USB Fat32 and cleared my USB. Then copied file on to the empty USB. When I double click on file it shows an internet simple with the words "upgrade_loader_sign_no_perm" showing 1,496,553kb in size. I cannot open the file to see what's in it though on my Desktop. It seems pretty easy to unzip the file. I just wanted to make sure I did it correct.

Don’t double click it as it is not executable on a PC. Simply unzip the file and place it onto the drive and the TV will know what to do with it. I have a full step by step tutorial on the channel from start to finish to help you along :)

The hdmi 2.1 ports are the two bottom ports, so you may be restricting your bandwidth if you’re using the Hdmi 2.0 ports.

The u8g has more FALD zones to help control contrast. I have no light bleed into black bars and overall my u8g has exceptional picture. I haven’t used my U7G much as it’s my editing pc monitor, but so far so good. I just know between the 2 models the u8g had a timing controller update available and the U7G does not.

Great tv i assume i need the update now . I can not get 4k HDR @120 hz and is washed out . I can run 4k 120hz with VRR on the other hand ? I do have an HDMI 2.1 cable. i noticed in nvidia control panel under the resolution list 4k@ 120hz is listed under pc instead of hd ???

If you’re hdr is washed out then I would assume you are running M0210. If so, M0422 corrects that and some other things as well :)

What console are you using. Sounds like a bandwidth issue which is normally caused by wrong source, cable, or port.

Make sure you’re using enhanced mode in the hdmi settings and try another cable if possible. A lot of people have had issues with the stock cable for 120hz

Man, it is impossible to miss the interpolatiom mess between two shots @ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VyAWKoIwsWg.html and many other cuts to a lesser degree. i know, I have this same problem on my Hisense A85G OLED, it is irritating but I kept the TV because it does other things well at a low price.
