Bought the 65U7G about a week ago. Wow!!! It has to be the best bang for buck going IMHO. Also, the narrow and wide feet options are a huge advantage. I don't understand why every manufacturer doesn't have this option. I sure didn't want to buy another piece of furniture and configure all my electronics when it's not necessary. Highly recommended!

Great video! I've watched so many times and it really helped me choose the U7G. To my eyes the U8G is too bright and ends up washing things out. The U7G balances contrast better with less dimming zones and a lower peak brightness. With so many opinions out there a good thing to remember is to trust your own eyes because you're the one who will be watching whatever tv you buy, not random online critics. If your eyes can't perceive the difference, then why overpay??? I struggled between LCD and plasma just like I've been between LED and OLED, but ultimately I like brighter tvs vs darker images. Every online reviewer would disagree and say the C1 or G1 is the best thing since sliced bread, but your personal preference is never "wrong" and it's your money to spend

So looking at this video almost a year later and I got a sweet deal on the U7G. I live outside the US but it ended up being near about 500USD. Thank you for mentioning the viewing angle issue. For my use case it doesn't matter too much as we put it in the bedroom and well, you're only really watching something when on the bed, but for a while I wondered if it would be a good living room replacement for my (also bought around 500USD last year) Samsung Q60A. While the brightness on detail is much more evident on the U7G, the angles kill it for this use case and the Q60A will still be our main room TV (bigger panel and with some nice speakers, it's great for movie nights). The U7G is great, but do keep in mind you need to be mostly looking at it from the front, otherwise look for other options.

I bought 5 Samsung tv's now and all of them were sent back due to damaged/defective screens. 4 of the 5 were bought "Refurbished" so take that for what it is. I said screw this and bought the Hisense 55" U8H for my bedroom and I haven't looked back. This TV is outstanding! Only issue with it is the really bad color banding but in it's defense I am coming from a old 4k non qled TV where color banding is normal for low processing TV's. So, my eyes and brain look right past the Hisense color banding cause I'm used to seeing it anyway. And yes, the Hisense U8H has a bunch of blooming but the blooming control is second to none and you are going to get blooming in ANY LCD type TV anyway, it's the nature of the tech. I think i will be investing into the 75" Hisense U8H for my living room next. One big side note for you guys, expanding on the Samsung Refurshished thing, do not, I repeat, DO NOT!!!!! buy ANY Samsung QLED TV's refurbished!!!!! They are all junk, they are all damaged. They were all sent back for a reason and as much as you would like to think it was sent back because it was beautiful but the buyer just wanted bigger, NO! You guys can of course do what you want to do with your money. But please take my warning seriously. DO NOT BUY USED OR REFURBED from Amazon or Ebay, they are just selling you someone else's problem and hoping you will just say "Hey, that's not that bad" and keep it. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

And FYI they always push Samsung products because they get bigger commissions, every Best Buy you go to Samsung products are front and center when it comes to tv, Samsung pays for that. But in the case of qn90a vs A80j, it depends on where you are putting the tv, if living room, please choose the Samsung, if bedroom, basement or extremely dark area then you might want to look at the oled, another important thing is would you have perfect blacks or perfect bright/white?, if you like a bright colorful punchy image choose qn90a if you like a dimmer but slightly more accurate image get A80j. Additional thoughts I was debating between getting the same two tvs, I end up getting the 55A80j because it was for my bedroom and I was disappointed in how dim and dark it is and it left me wanting more when it comes to brightness but then I was impressed with how clear the picture is when it comes to blooming, no washed out scenes or anything like that and the perfect blacks gives a good contrast between colors. Because it’s so dim I have to customize vivid mode and use it exclusively for everything. If you pull random ppl off the street and put them In front the two tvs more ppl the average customer would choose the Samsung qn90a. Because of how bright and punchy it is and it has some of the best black levels for a non oled tv. But these Samsung tvs get some bright they can burn your eyes, at night sometimes you would have to turn down brightness. I’m not sure if I made the right choice choosing oled by ill keep the A80j. If you are putting your tv in a living with you and other people using it and it’s gonna be on a lot then get the qn90a 100%, if it’s only you and you like perfect blacks and contrast and you don’t like eyeball burning bright tvs then get the A80J. This should help you a little making your decision. Remember use case and where you are putting the tv is the most important aspect when deciding to buy the tv, having been through it I realize it first hand. Your welcome.

Honestly when it comes to tvs you just have to know what you are willing to pay, and what kind of performance you want from the TV. If you get a Hisense you might get some ghosting artifacts. If you go with an Samsung QLED your getting less of a chance of ghosting problems, but you pay more.

How's the banding? I ask, because I saw the U7G at Best Buy, and with what they had hooked up to it... There was major banding around everything. Another thing... According to some, the U7G suffers from noticeable stutter. Now, granted, motion interpolation can smooth some of that out... Without having to use motion interpolation, is the stutter a noticeable issue?

I have the U7G. I only noticed banding a couple times and only when watching You Tube videos. I do get some noticeable stutter once in a while. I think the stutter might be from a buffering issue when watching movie networks like Netflix, HBO ect, and not because of the TV. When I notice stutter, it is rare and only for a moment.

I hate it when you tinker with the camera to turn up what it's picking up instead of showing it how it actually looks. While viewing a TV through a camera's lens is not ideally perfect or accurate and I realize people try to make adjustments to help out with that, I would still rather see what the camera is seeing than knowing that you're tinkering with the image. This takes blame off of you and allows viewers just to see what the camera is picking up

I just bought my U8G and watched a dark movie, no blooming or anything like that, the brightness is superb. These channels comparing tvs are a waste of time, you will only notice the difference if you have 2 tvs side by side. In real life most tvs are excellent. Just buy what you can afford. I have a 10 year old 32 inch Sony and still colour and details are great, only upgrade to a bigger size of 85 inch. If you are thinking of buying a new TV, just buy the one you can afford. LG, sony, samsung, hisense. I went with U8G due to price competitiveness and discount and good image quality even if not the best.

How is the the motion for sports and upscaling for RU-vid and sdr content? Can’t decide between the U8g and U7g a couple of reviews on best buy saying the the U8g is phenomenal, but the sdr upscaling is bad compared to reviews on the u7g saying upscaling is good on low quality content.
@GazzaDazzle

@@chrisrosario3557 I watched tennis and NBA, the standard motion is set to medium, no ghosting and no lag, very good. When you watch a lower quality RU-vid video it will upscale it, but still look nice. Not excellent but still great quality. This is more of a RU-vid video problem and not a tv problem. U7G is a lower model and only goes up to 75 inch. I think the stand is a little different. I was comparing TVs for like the last 3 years, trust me, you won't notice anything negatives on a TV since you only have one. I went to all the shops and having all 4 TVs side by side, the latest the best like OLED NEO etc. Honestly my eyes can't tell any real difference even with OLED. I also compared with viewing angle, IPS vs VA panels and motion rate and all that rubbish. Those are just marketing for people who have too much time on their hand. The difference is so small, is pointless. I was the same before, thinking of Samsung NEO, and LG and Sony and all that, but honestly will you pay nearly double the price for a slightly better quality? I wouldn't. A better question should be how long will the TV last, that I cannot say, may be a few year may be just one or two or maybe 10 yrs. who knows. At the end of the day, people create these comparison channels to make money off youtube. Think about that statement.

In Australia the hisense u7g, from what I heard doesn't have 2.1 hdmi and it's not a 120hz either apparently. But I've been looking at the 85 inch version for $2,500 AUD. My lounge is roughly 6 - 8 metres long so do you think the 85 inch version is worth it for the price? P.S prices in Australia are usually double compared to the rest of the world, so for an 85 inch, that's cheap and that makes out my budget. If I get other brands in the 85 inch, the price jumps to almost $4,000 AUD, which I'd rather spend/invest elsewhere
