You did really well, and with some of the most atrocious hands imaginable. Games like yours are the reason I don't bother with hand traps (except effect veiler and ash blossom because they double as a combo piece) and instead rely on board nukers like Sphere Mode, Evenly Matched, Dark Ruler and good old Dark Hole.

VW post VFD is still scary good, the same hands that make double VFD end on a hand loop for 2-4 and Crystal Wing and potential Chuche

@@has199 The issue is that the deck doesn't rely on opening hands good enough to make double VFD. Most VW hands will end on 1 VFD, Chuche, and follow up. Opening double VFD is just nice when you can.

It's yugioh zoomerism that would lead anyone to think that a card like Magical Explosion is fine at 3, especially if you choose to put Into The Void at 3 in the same format.

@Najawin you can make the infinite Elma loop with any 2 warriors. Isolde can search on summon the lvl 1 Ignoble and then send 4 including Elma to special out gearfired iron Knight. Then discard the lvl 1 ignoble and you can get the Elma back. All you need is any way to gain advantage from this and you have the most consistent infinite loop in the game

@Najawin you could maybe stall for time? Make Isolde send black pendant with Isolde as well make Charles, equip Pendant, blow it up, deal 500, then loop Elma for time? Is there a tournament rule about such infinite loops?

@@frankwest5388 yes, there is. You would be expected to demonstrate the loop once, then say "i perform the loop 1,000 times". You wouldnt be allowed to just perform the loop 1000 times to use up time.

@@cheriflat9668 Erupt it's not one sided, it doesn't effect tribute monsters, which is not the same, besides i was referring to the pop part, not the uneffected.... There's also the fact that it's much more difficult to activate the other three TD without the opponent monster effects.

Exactly. It can take some game, and maybe a random top, but it isn't going to be a threat to the top tier decks really.

The problem is u can through a few Draco monsters and the traps (no spells or diagrams) in a eldlich/zoo deck and suddenly u have trap pops and master peice on top of eldlich repeatability.

I'd put it a bit higher than that b/c of the drawing power and removal but yes,I feel in real tournaments decks like these do worse than online b/c they suck against rogue and they need to go first. On the other hand,true draco is very unique as a control deck and they would shape the meta no doubt

@@CrimsonKobaNakirigumi well that's true because the tower monster is missing. If you got problems with errupt you can still destroy the draco monsters with traps and spells. If you summon master peace with spells and traps your opponent got nothing against it and that's a huge problem.

Dunno, have you guys tried to play true draco without any floodgates BUT with masterpiece and dinomight at three? I mean, yes, nobody play true draco now that it has 3 erupts, but it's the same as monarch. Erupt is why the deck wins, with or without masterpiece, and if you summon masterpiece but you have no erupt and no other unfair stuff to help it... Puff, masterpiece is a useless 2950 attack monster that any competent deck can kill with ease

This i think is a good exhibiltion of how Master was a really good surgical hit. True Draco can do a lot of stupid bullshit, plenty of it absolutely currently playable outside this exercise, but without access to a toolbox extra deck it doesn't really have much it can end on that can't be relatively easily dealt with, and without that it doesn't really have much of a way to win since it can't really OTK. Master Peace, while only moderately powerful in a vacuum, is too good because it actually gives it that. People in the comments mocked MBT for saying that he was wrong about Master Peace but his comment at the end about it giving the deck a win con is imo dead on. Even the raw draw power isn't enough, as we can see from how lax MD is on draw power and outside festivals True Draco isn't even really rogue. Without Master it just can't really do that much but with it it can be very scary. It helps that even WITH that draw power the Draco pilot got insanely lucky at points and their opponents insanely unlucky, but that's Yugioh.

@@impendio So here me out, I know it sounds crazy BUT the solution for bricks is quite simple in fact. Play two fridge, you might say that this hurts consistency but I ask you: What hurts more? Having full combo and fridge or simply not having combo? On a more serious note: In newer builds with scrap dinosaur running two fridges is actually viable because it either helps with not bricking or is used in a relatively consistent high ceiling combo, so I at least could justify doing so.

@@kreatorkeon4478 Paying 5k LP to start off a Drytron combo that doesn't need a normal and ends on Ultimateness + eva is very worth it. Also none of the hand traps in the meta rn stop Cyber Stein. Ash, Belle, meister, Droll, none of them interact with it, and no one plays Impermanence or Veiler

Yeah of course he does; he has 3 Into The Void, 1 Chicken Game, 2 Duality, Terraforming, 2 Desires, Set Rotation, 3 Heritages. Into The Void was what broke the deck, not Master Peace; it gave consistent access to Diagram and Monarch's Erupt

I think Storm Forth is also relevant to a degree and Masterpiece just being a Tribute monster

@@dhanyl2725 true. But after looking back there was a lack of backrow removal in the sides. I guess in a tournament where so many strategies are legal you don't expect to see too many control matches, which is probably what gave draco the upper hand. I think in this format if we were to get masterpeace back we could adapt our sides to it and play more backrow removal. I believe it was how fast the event was put together that gave the draco player the upper hand since all they had to do was make room for 2 master and 3 into the void.

But it ruins empty jar.

At that point there would has be to be a decent reward I can't imagine bringing in that many capable players would be easy

It's not very powerful in a vacuum but it is the tipping point for a very powerful floodgate deck. Skill draining your opponent with a repeatable quick effect removal tool on top, and it's sometimes very hard to remove, is very strong.

Clearly, trade Master Peace for Monarchs Erupt on the banlist.

Its also not too good of a mu for bird up as bird up normally just is stormforth turbo

Also, literally deep draw. The draco deck got a lot of their deep draw unhit, and their other tribute summons. Also, realistically, if anyone sided with actual respect to spell/trap decks, outside of like 3 cards, it would've died super early. Not to mention it's bracket was super easy, not to mention the fact that I almost just straight up won playing a deck that loses to most of their good cards

Also doesnt help that Shenshen Chuche & Croc hoses this matchup

Realistically, only master peace could go to three and nothing would change. Dinomight also might be able to, since there is also a distinct lack of deep draw that doesn't require you to run an extra deck and one skill drain is bad

@@rinpg3333 I think the issue with MP is that he's a win con that typically takes more than one card to out. Bosses like this I think are great to put to 1-he doesnt always come out, and if he does hes a house, but you only have to out him once. I think that's the healthiest place for Draco-Master Peace should be scary until you clear him. Disciples makes it easier to get him back, but it takes a decent amount of resources to do it. Honestly though, 1 or 3 MP isn't that different.
