Does VRCHAT work with Windows Mixed Reality VR Headsets? 

Okay, I wasn't entirely sure if the hands would track past the field of view for the sensor's. This video was just what I needed, and quite helpful.

This pretty much sells me on the MR headsets. It's not perfect, but it's good enough. And well above useful for pretty much all vr experiences.

It would have been neat if Microsoft made use of the Kinect as a sort of optional hand tracker. If the two front cameras don't see the hand controllers it would temporarily fall back to the Kinect? I don't know, it seemed like a missed opportunity to me. Edit: a word

This was pretty much the last question I had about these VR headsets. Thanks for the video! The caveat doesn't really bother me so I am now completely sold on these! At $220, these MR headsets seem to finally be making VR affordable.

I like the greenscreen fuckup. It looks fine since it shows how you act, but since we can't see your face anyway, it doesn't prevent us from seeing any details. We can also see what would normally be hidden by your body. The big cut out around you is annoying though.

Glad you made a video on this, I've been wanting to get one of the WMR headsets but wasn't sure how well it work work with VR Chat. Probably going to get one in the next month or two now that I know it works fairly well. Though one thing that might help fix the hand tracking and add some other interesting vr features (assuming you have access to a kinect) is a software called Driver4VR. It's a software mainly geared towards the google cardboard/riftcat setups to help give some better hand and head tracking when using things like the PS Move controllers or those shit google cardboard bluetooth vr controllers but the developer also has an option to use the Kinect to emulate the HTC Vive's full body tracking addon. (I would also like to take a moment to appreciate that a multi-billion dollar company plus video game developers with lots of funding couldn't figure out how to do anything fund or useful with the Kinect but people messing with it as a hobby have been able to find many, actually useful things to do with the Kinect.)

I'm suddenly really glad that my vr headset research brought me here, because this is *exactly* what I've been looking for. I don't have the space or for the setups that most headset require, so having a headset that doesn't require external cameras and sensors is exactly what I need! Not to mention it's a more realistic price than a vive or rift for me. This video does a pretty good job of showing how it works, too. I can't wait until I can get my own!

The Cake is what we would call a smörgåstårta or in English sandwich cake.

I already bought one after your first video on the mixed reality headsets and even though my computer isn't exactly up to snuff, the stuff that I can do with it makes me really want to pull the trigger on getting an upgrade.

for the animation, try unchecking the Loop Time box (in the Inspector tab to the right when you click on the animation file). Loop time always breaks them for me

I have the mixed reality Samsung Odyssey and it is AMAZING. I play Rec Room and VRCHat every night flawlessly. 1700x1440 res is stunning. Have no problems running around, playing all the games, all the movements. The only problem with these games in the young millennials and kiddies playing. Hard to find any mature people to talk to. But its fun. I am watching this video in RU-vid and typing my response from inside my Cliffhouse. Going to watch a movie next in my hometheater of this house.

I want to purchase one of these right now, but sadly the only spec my laptop can't handle is the graphics card. 940mx.. can't upgrade it and cant even get 30 FPS in vrchat using desktop mode. Too broke to build a 800-1k$ PC at the moment too...

2:28 that's a sandwich cake.. its constructed like a cake but made out of regular bread, cold cuts/deli meats, cheese, veggies and condiments (those are cucumber slices on the side)

The cake is a "smörgåstårta", literally translated sandwich cake. And that's deliculous :-)

This looks like a dream game for me i dont know how im going to get the money for a headset and a gaming pc

im still waiting for a true VR mmorpg.... think of WoW and like this with its movements. Make WoW great again! I have not played WoW since 30 days after Cata launched.. i'd def go back if they do a VR version starting with vanilla and each year release the expansions. I miss vanilla WoW and it being my first mmo, no game beat that experience so far but i think a VR mmorpg would be the game.

This is proof that you don't NEED a HTC Vive or Oculus Rift to have an amazing VR experience. Of course, there are a few bugs with the lower-end models, but it doesn't mean that it will ruin your connection with the virtual world. If you wanna try it but you don't have that much money to spend, then try this. If you don't like it then I guess you could stick it on ebay as used and get some money back, but for the price I think that is unlikely. I have a HTC Vive myself, and yes the tracking and compatibility helps a lot, but it is not required.

I have one question, why didn't you mention that "seated play" doesn't work for Windows MR and also I was wondering if it is a global thing or just me, but my model in game gets really messed up in game with the windows MR headset, it doesn't happen client side but on the server its apparently pretty ridiculous. I am using the Samsung Odyssey HMD.
