I've never seen a 1/2 inch bar twist like that I reckon Harry's got bionic arms, I agree with Harry on the Jubilee clip. I hope he didn't catch a nasty cold being out in that downpour, what a legend:)

All good, not even a sniffle! The extension was made of some sort of metallic cheese and basically bent by looking at it funny

They are very rare nowadays, mostly old folks that bought them new and will likely never sell them. I do remember 10 years ago in Birmingham there were at least 20 in every scrap yard, it took me ages to find one that hadn’t done a head gasket though….. 🙄

All a tad frustrating to have the wrong belt, but another garage session has been booked and there isn't loads to do to get it finished, although replacing that air filter should probably be on the list!

Thankyou for sharing, great video. I live Lincs / Norfolk and do not see Rover R8s in the wild, rarely see R3s even. Harry did a great job, hopefully you now have the new belt. I agree with Harry on the jubilee clip, but Lidl stock stuff like that, and I think yes I’ll have those as spares.

You do seem to get a lot more modern MGs out in the East than anywhere else in the country though, bit of a strange phenomenon. Jubilee clip was adequate for now, but it's a K series, what happens if the clip disintegrates, as the cheap ones do...

@@hazzalandy yes totally agree on Jubilee clip, I have never dared use a Lidl one on my cars. Not even so many MGs around here now. Nice to see so many been preserved at car shows, as per Retroratz BL day show video

Sorry, misunderstood, yes the latest MGs quite popular, WH Brand are an agent in south Lincs, ex MG Rover with excellent reputation, but the new MGs look like everything else, so hard to distinguish
