Does your KTM/Husqvarna TPi leak 2 stroke oil? Good idea to check this part on your TPi!

In this video I show a potential failure part on your TPi KTM/Husqvarna 250 and 300. A customer's bike came in with an oil leak from under the reservoir. It turned out to be the angled rubber joint coupling the oil injection pump to the oil tank. I highlight the repair procedure in the video. Sorry for the poor filming near the end. It's hard sometimes to film with one hand :)

Doing this to a new 2022 250 XC I just bought a few weeks ago from the dealership. Two years must be their life expectancy and I went ahead and bought the NiceCNC one. We'll see how long this one last.

Happy to see others who keep their bikes clean enough to eat off of! My GasGas is just as spotless 😂

They cost too much $$$ to not take care of them, right? Thanks for watching.

Just looked at mine today. 160 hours. Mine cracked in the exact same place your customers did

Thanks for this Vid. To my horror I watched a big glob of mud disappear down my oil tube filler so I’m gonna go ahead and change the pump out

Oh shoot! Take the elbow off (the piece I replaced due to cracking) remove the screen and flush out the tank from the filler downward. Replace the elbow after cleaning the screen and you’ll be good to go! Thank you for the comment

@@BlueDreamtoken I’ve wondered if maybe harsh cleaning chemicals deteriorate the rubber. I’ve installed the NiceCNC version and it really isn’t any different than the Oem and it’s made in China….good thing it’s not a difficult repair and not very expensive. Thanks for watching and commenting

How’s that natty shock working out for you compared to stock? Been wondering if it’s worth the price.

It’s the Magic Carpet in my opinion. Well built and worth the money. Coupled with a good fork set up, of course. Thank you for watching

Did you have any issues with clearance and getting the Oetiker tool up to tighten the clamp?
@code4performance
@code4performance Месяц назад
Its tight getting the pliers up in there, but as long as the pliers have the crimping ability on the side of the jaws, you can get them in there. It helps if you even remove the shock and mud flap and engine stays and of course the throttle body moved to the side. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching.

Mine is leaking - Wondering why you replaced it with the same oem one if that one is prone to cracking and leaking. I am looking at the nicecnc one as a replacement

To be honest, I did not know about any aftermarket options. Thank you for the tip!

@MrStephenCoggins how is that nicecnc angle piece working out for you? Because I wonder if it is worth ordering one.

Take the oil injection off.

If you are racing perhaps take it off. This bike has tuning and has ran flawlessly for many hours. I'll keep the injection, especially on multi day rides where all you need to do is put gas in it and go. Thanks for commenting.
