He has completed the requirement, skill wise. Kill a 12 kizuki or 50 demons. (it doesnt even have to be an upper moon) Even with the argument kaigaku is a "last minute" upper-moon muzan is too proud to have any upper moon who is as weak as a lower moon. He is easily hashira level, even if its at the low end.

Hashira level during the time frame of demon slayer isn't lower moon level the lower moons were killed by muzan for always running from Hashira and shit a single hashira killed upper moon 5 but I think Gyutaro would be harder too kill by a slayer because his hacks

Aaaactually 🤓☝️ Zenitsu created the 7th Form so he could feel like he was fighting alongside Kaigaku as an equal. He didn't create it for vengeance, he created it so he could feel like he was on equal footing with his brother disciple, he intended to use it alongside Kaigaku not to strike Kaigaku down, only his plans changed when he discovered what had happened

Zenitsu is obviously a hashira level. Despite him not mastering the other thunder breathing form, his mastery over the first form was a feat no one can achieve he made various variation of that form. And i think no one is able to truly master the first form of thunder breathing despite it looking so simple. Later on he also developed the 7th form and fun fact guys, Zenitsu sword has not broken once in this series. because he is a master of his breathing style.

Muzan saw it fit enough to give a new demon Kaigaku an upper moon rank when most demons in inifinity castle were said to be start of series lower moon rank. The prerequisite to be a hashira is to slay *a moon*. End of Series Zenitsu is easily hashira level at the start of the story (before they all get the marks).

@@Mel-Sqr yes but you also gotta remember that the last upper 6 were demons for more than 100 years so they could eat thousands of humans to get stronger and Kaigaku only was a demon for a few weeks so at that time he probably was lower moon 1 level. It is still an impressive feat and he is pretty strong but even the creator of demon slayer said that if kaigaku wouldve been a demon for just a few months Zenitsu wouldve died on the spot.

To become a hashira you just have to defeat one of the 12 demon moons of kaigaku was upper moon 6 then we all know he would be at least lower moon 12 in strength. So Zsnitsu is hashira level, it's just the demon slayer corpse disbanded the same day.

At the end he’s definitely at Hashira level. Him and Tanjiro, both, are absolutely there. For the rest of the rookies it’s more debatable. Kanao may have been juuuust at the edge-low Hashira level-and Inosuke is probably near-Hashira, almost there; but Zenitsu and Tanjiro are clearly there. Zenitsu is something like Mid-Hashira, and Tanjiro something like HigherMid-Hashira.

Zenitsu was most definitely Hashira level but only bc he “unmentioned in the show” mastered the transparent world. He meditated so deep that it appeared that he was asleep & literally fought with his eyes closed. He continued to use the strongest & only technique he knew in his breathing style. It was in the training arc that he learned to meditate while awake. Which in the second to last episode his head was seen bleeding & he was wide awake while in deep meditation. Never mentioned, now he is able to learn the other techniques on top of the one he created. When the arc is over he is deemed the apparently the fastest Hashira & one of the longest living out of all the slayers

I feel like the new upper moon 6 this time was a good bit weaker than the former upper moon 6. But still it was amazing to see Zenitsu 1V1 the guy. And create a new breath of the thunder breathing. The most important thing about this conversation are the forms, step 1 was the foundation and you had to master it to really master the other 5 forms. IF Kaigaku mastered the first step there’s no question he would have beaten Zenitsu, since Z mastered form 1 he was able to create a 7th. Thus catching Kai by surprise

7th form(Flaming Thunder God) was created by Zenitsu, its his own creation like giyu's 11th form and muichiro's 7th from. Thunder breathing has only 6 forms from the sengoku era to the taisho era but 7th form is created and only used by Zenitsu in taisho era.

What's crazy is Kaigaku couldve have gotten a higher spot within a single year cause he was extremely deadly even Zen knew he was going to be a problem which is why he created the 7th form so he could show him that he's worthy of their master and together they could kill Muzan.
