My main cat walked in a week before a hurricane was about to hit the coast and never left. Literally. Heard meowing outside, opened the door, and was like, oh, hi. She walked in. Acted like she'd always been there. I couldn't just kick her out with the storm coming, and by the time it was over, she wasn't going anywhere. Was like, welp, she lives here, now.

Me: My cat is an absolute bastard, he will mess you up- Vet: Oh he's being so good right now! What a sweetheart! Me: He's gaslighting me.

I have two cats and a dog. Cat 1: Pure bred Bengal lunatic. She talks constantly, will only eat Purina One dry cat food, spiders and mice. She is a high turbo maniac, or unconscious curled up fluff ball. She can hear my eyelids open in the morning and commences with yeowling until I get up and play. She will only poop in the litter box if it's filled with Walmart Special Kitty clumping cat litter; otherwise she poops NEXT to the litter box. Cat 2: Half Maine Coon, half rag doll. The heaviest fluff ball imaginable. Loves you like you're the sun and the moon, until he doesn't, and then he swats at your head through the stair rails and makes your forehead bleed. You NEVER see it coming. Sleeps 23 hours a day, eats anything that doesn't eat him first. Likes to drape his 25 lb tank shaped body across my neck when I'm trying to sleep; purrs like an outboard motor as I struggle to breathe. The dog: Rescued bag of random dog parts. Made of velcro and is attached to my leg if I am standing, attached to my lap if I am sitting. Eats anything that falls off the counter or the table, dead things in the yard, or his own poop. However, his meals must be a perfect slurry of kibble, wet dog food and warm water; brand doesn't matter, it's all about the texture. I am convinced that I have a mental disorder that makes me a slave to animals.

Warned a vet assistant that my cat could get aggressive when trying to take an x-ray and plainly said that they would want to sedate him. Adding that they might consider using a blowdart from across the room to do so. The assistant smiled but didn't take me seriously and he wasnt sedated. They wont make that mistake again.

"You do have my full permission to knock that little bastard out." I actually used this line once when the vet tech came in, and they had a similar reaction. I could also hear my cat screaming in the back like a bobcat.

One time I told my vet, "hey my cat looks half dead. He's not. He's playing possum. He will try to ecaspe, he's pretty crafty" Vet nurse. " oh we see cats every day. This will only take about 15 minutes or so" 45 minutes later....she comes out " um...he's hiding behind the dryer. I was wondering if you could come back there and try and coax him out" I was all.....I tried to warn ya!!!!!

My kitty had to stay overnight at the vet and the next morning I went to get her, they had her in a cage with a big picture of a red chilli and the word SPICY emblazoned across it. Proud momma moment 😇

Cat activity level is either 1. Lazy squishy fluff that its only moves are rolling around, licking, and fo for food bowl 2. Extremely hyperactive adhd that run on any surface and elevation, knocking scratching kicking everything

My cat loves her kibble to a fault. I accidentally bought her the Indoor Cat 7+ instead of the Indoor Cat 1-6 and she REFUSED to eat it. Even when I bought her a bag of her regular food and tried to mix them together, SHE ATE *AROUND* THE "BAD" KIBBLE

The cat changing their mind after you've bought a bunch of the food is SO DAMN ACCURATE! My 4 cats all get together and collectively stop eating it as soon as a case shows up.

As a cat owner, this tracks. Took my cat to the vet. They asked, should we take her in the carrier to the back or let her out here. Lifted my bleeding arm and said... do what you gotta do.

As someone who used to work in an animal hospital the part where the dog owner was blaming you for her dog being aggressive brought back some buried rage 💀 some people just will NOT take responsibility for the behavior of their animals and want to make it everyone else's problem

Until the last one I was convinced cat owner was trying to sneak his pet raccoon to the vets. Raccoons aren't fussy eaters.

As a cat owner can agree on the breed answer lol. But as for the rest, I specifically adopt cats who have been stuck at the shelter the longest. After caring for a 16 year old black love bug until he passed at 19 years old ( got sick and just... didn't recover. It was his time. ) I spent 3 years learning how to care for his diabetes, carefully managing his diet and ensuring at least 30 min of moderate activity a day, and giving him insulin twice a day. After that our next kitty was FIV positive, and you bet your ass my vet hears about every time she sneezes weird. Her brother, adopted a year later, is also FIV positive ( sought out specifically ). They do not go outside, period, so every home improvment in the last 2 years has been with the cats in mind to further enrich their world. I hope to keep them happy and healthy for a long time 😊

Grocery store cashier here. This fits. Dog owners are often snotty about keeping up with the joneses about breed. They proudly tell you how much they paid for their dog (often thousands of dollars). Their dogs are often more of a beloved status item then a beloved pet. They spend shitloads on dog food specialties like $40 bags of duck jerky for their dog or ultra expensive bakery made cookies for their dogs. Or those frozen ice cream treats just for dogs. Even poor senior folks spend all their money on crazy items for their dogs and then get themselves ramen noodles. I'm not saying this is true for all dog owners, there are some folks who truly have a wonderful dog buddy they love and care for without being hung up on the status or high maintenance trip. What I'm saying is most dog owners who go through my line are that way as portrayed in the video. Cat owners are laid back, and more practical in their spending practices and purchases. The only thing I hear different is the food situation....cat owners often have picky eaters. And cat owners not only adopt, but are proud to say they have rescues. They are good souls who often buy cat food to feed cats other than their own, such as feral cats in their neighborhood or to donate to the humane society. In 23 years of doing this work Ive never had a dog owner buy dog food for dogs other than their own or to donate.

This video reminded me of offering to watch a co-worker's two Huskies while she was on vacation. I had no clue what I was in for! Every morning and evening, both dogs were to be given an assortment of wholistic medicines which took me about 30 minutes to administer. I always gave the younger Husky his pills first since the older would sometimes resist. One morning the older was being a bit resistant so, we took a break. I happen to notice the younger poking his head into this space between the stove and wall. Thinking a ball rolled into the space, I check it out. I didn't see a ball, but I did find a pile of his pills! The little stinker was somehow saving them in his mouth and then spitting them all out in his "secret corner!" He was one smart dog!

I had a cat once that popped a vet tech on the chin. They were all, hey that's okay! Part of the job! Then got a letter: she was no longer welcome there. They fired my cat as a patient.

"Buy a couple weeks worth of it and he completly stops eating it" this is so true. Se people in supermarket spending more time choosing their cat food than their own food.

Two of our kitties were in fact found behind a local restaurant dumpster. I fostered them, but ended up adopting them. 😅

My entire vet clinic office fell in love with my ferret. She's a tiny thing you could call a pocket ferret. She is sneaky as heck so she stole their cellphone out of their pocket and held it in her mouth while they carried her. All ferrets choose a texture they will steal if they find it and here's was any chewy rubber like a phone case.

"What breed is your cat?" "Uh, I dunno, the normal one? Whatever cats are when they aren't a sphinx or a siamese"

Vet tech: "What kind of cat is he?" Me: "Orange."

Ha! That's my sister, the ultimate authority on dog medicine, psychology, behavior, and nutrition. If you encounter one of these folks, try to keep the convo on ANYTHING but dogs.

That last one 😂 my cat is now 19 years old and for the past two years it has become increasingly more difficult to please her in terms of food. I went to the vet to get her checked out, and she has medication for her thyroid and high blood pressure, and we do follow up to monitor her health.

Took my cats to the vet, the little one has a very cute snuggle type fawn response to stress where if you get her in your arms, she’ll just tuck her head down and wait for it to the done with. The big guy’s a teddy bear who doesn’t love to be held, but he’ll tolerate it with some purrs as long as he’s being transported a short distance. I let him wander around the exam room while we were waiting and didn’t realize the nurse was coming back until it was too late. He slowly meandered into the back and wandered around until one of the vet techs picked him up and he purred his way back to me 😂

My cat was one of the rare gems who was completely chill at the vet. They'd stick him, look at his gums, touch his feet (he never let me do that!) And he'd just sit there. I always theorized it's because of how he was found, he was feral and found mauled by a raccoon or something, so his first vet trip was literally life saving.

Hahaha. I've been a dog person for years. Then discovered an abandoned cat sleeping in a basket on my porch. Two years later, the cat and I are tight family. Love the little guy and impressed with his survival skills. We live in the country on 20 acres. Plenty of predators. He's mostly an indoor cat but ventures out as he wishes night or day. He knows all the places to hide.

I am a dog groomer and I can tell you that the reactions I get from owners are similar to the ones vets get from dog owners.

I work at a dog daycare and boarding, and we have food instructions for some of the dogs. One of the most complicated meal instructions I had was “Kibble must be soaked in hot water for over 15 minutes in the tupperware container in hot water, and once soggy add more hot water and place into slow feeder with can.” Then my most complicated cat feeding consisted of “opened can in fridge.”

The dietary habits of the dog remind me of a departed friend. This man had a gentle Collie, and, as this was 20 years ago, I forgot exactly what foods he mixed together to feed her Boiled egg was one. His wife commented that that dog gets more nutritious meals than I do.

I'm blessed to have a 7 year old and 1 year old cats that are both not hyperactive and are both pretty well behaved with the vet and groomer despite their fears. They both just sleep on top of my body at night instead of wandering around but never on my face and they're both grazers instead of gobblers so they don't have to plead for food, just nibble throughout the day and night. The little one sits still to have her claws trimmed and the older one's previous owners unfortunately declawed her. Both were street rescues so I'm always surprised they don't seem to have normal cat software when I see other people talk about their cats' madness.

As someone who lives in Idaho, I object. Our potatoes can outcompete Russia any day. As someone who has only had rescue dogs, I roll my eyes at the pedigree dog owner. “Your dog only has one breed? Check out my dog who has mastered the idiosyncrasies of 20 breeds!”

I have a 6 yo cat recently got her a little companion cat who’s 6 months old. Both are spayed, and it took 3 months but they are great friends now.Thank goodness cuz both my arms arm now healing and scabbed over from her sharp teeth playtimes! Such a great channel!

Dog owner here. I recently adopted a small dog, 11ib and he is a sweetheart when meeting new people. Yet he is the first dog I've ever had that HATES getting his nails clipped. I took him to the vet to get his nails clipped and I could hear him screaming all the way from the waiting room. They gave me two bottles of sedative to give him for next time.

My cat loves his belly to be rubbed and doesn’t hide from the vacuum. I think my cat is weird.

Cats switching foods every week was a new one for me. Mine was happy with most foods that I served with one rule: she'd only eat foods that came from plastic or cardboard based packages, never from metal tins. Foods in metal tins were even supposed to be fancy foods, but she wouldn't touch them. My wallet thanked her habit 😅 And obviously her absolute favorite was the one food that smelled the most horrendous to me >_

My cat is a British Shorthair tabby. As you can see, she is grey and white with a little bit of light brown. So, she qualifies as a tri-colour cat. And her name is Holmes. Yes, after the great detective Sherlock Holmes. Because she is smart and British. Thank you very much.

One minute it's chicken pâté... the next, *any* pâté, even expensive duck, gets a terrifyingly haunting yowl that strangely resembles a resounding "f*** you, Mom" until he gets some thrice dehydrated and torch blasted kibble. Then it's suddenly, with no warning, back to the pâté, the little...

Our cat behaves a lot like a dog. She gets excited when I come home and looks out the window when I leave. I even brush her teeth with cat toothpaste. She lets the vet examine her all over, but when we try to check something like her ears, she refuses to cooperate 😂

I have the opposite problem with my cat. he will just eat ANYTHING. You leave your food 15 seconds to get a fork and he’s already eating in my plate. And i can basically give him any wet food or dry food and he’ll eat it.

I have never been a prouder cat butler than when our Large Grey Cat went to the vet for an operation and he was the SWEETEST DOCILE CHUNKY BOY. He was sweet the entire time we were with him, and for the three days he was alone there, allegedly he started purring and wanted pets whenever they opened his cage. And he never objected to any of the treatment. They were visibly amazed when they gave him back to us. I love him so much.

The last question I looked at my cat and said, that’s you!

My siamese(ish) cat (he just showed up in my yard one day and wouldn’t leave) has a note in his chart at the vet “glove does not work, use EZ-nab” He gets the net trap they use on the ferals 😂

I recently lost my sweet boy🐈. He was 20! He ate whatever the heck he wanted the last few years. I tried all the fancy, expensive stuff. He preferred junk food. I miss him so freaking much.😢💔🐈🙏🏻

My dog’s name is Henry and he loves the vet. And they all love home. 😂 He happily goes over to get his vaccines and gives all the vets kisses. I used to be so worried about taking him to the vet but seeing everyone pop out and be like, “is that Henry?” While so happy to see him makes all the visits extra nice. Since he has so many it would suck if he was rowdy. He basically went almost once a month or more for a good chunk of time until we figured out he was allergic to most grass, trees, and plants; as well as several common ingredients in dog foods such as potatoes, flaxseed, etc and that was causing all his issues. 😢

When my dog was going to Chemo...he got so excited to go. Cheerful and always had his ball with him. Staff loved him...he actually helped calm other pets. My Cat Smudge is like...hey there...what's up. Purr...purr...head bump...purr.

My little cat Sweet Pea is a doll. She won’t even look at her food until she’s gotten her fair share of scritches behind the ears and back rubs. Aggressive? Yeah aggressive head bonking and aggressive purring! I love that little kitty!

My dog’s been eating the same kibble for several years now, happy as a clam at every single meal. But I’m playing with fire every time I decide to buy a full case of cat food. It’s truly bizarre how they LOVE IT until you spend a bunch of money on a full case of it😭

When I was picking my Cat up from a spay neuter clinic, the entire staff came out to tell me my cat was Parkour kitty, and they all played with her before her spay 😂 My damn kitten will jump on anything and fly across the room. PARKOUR!!! 😂😂😂

My dog free feeds Kirkland crunchies. My cat has a mix of Kirkland crunchies, friskies wet and assorted creatures that are undefinable by the time their gizzards make it onto my carpet.

I knew a person whose cat was such a little monster that she had to go under anaesthesia for nail-clipping and was "fired" from one vet clinic because she was so difficult to handle. Oh, and she was practically found by a garbage dump as a kitten, tiny and malnourished. That cat scared me.

My cat was a stray but for some reason, my little angel never woke me up if I let her sleep under my feet. She loved cuddling and sleeping on my husband’s chest.

Friggen hilarious 😂 Wound up taking our new puppy to an ER hospital due to seizures and I was so tired (2am) that I put down “doggo” on the form asking me which type of animal he was ~ vet thought that was hilarious as I sat there sleep deprived and clueless, she was awesome and took great care of our doggo❤❤❤❤

The only cat I have ever had that was picky was one I adopted when he was on old man of 18, along with his brother. I.was told they weren't eating but the chonky brother started eating right away. The thin one as it turned out only wanted one particular flavor of one particular brand of food. He refused everything else, that was a fun few days figuring that out!

I had a trash panda cat once, I literally did find him behind some rubbish bins. Great cat, very smart and loved being a house cat. Lived with chronic kidney disease for the last five years of his life which meant a LOT of vet visits. He was pretty chill about these though and only needed sedated for serious things. He would sit for a blood draw with a look of abject suffering on his face but would cheer up instantly for a tuna crunchie. I still miss him. I don't miss the vet bills though. No offence!

We are so blessed. Our cat behaves for the vet techs/vets. He used to swat us some when we first got him. Now he lets us hold him and snuggles. We've had him 10 months. He was a rescue got him from a cat devoted rescue group.

So accurate!😂 That's how I was with previous cats anyway. My current two have needed more knowledge than usual. One is allergic to corn, the other to chicken. They intentionally share food with each other so there's no chance to feed them separately. I also know through observation and watching them grow that one cat is half Abyssinian and the other some percent Maine Coon. Of course, if I had known that about either before adopting I may have chosen other cats. Finally, both have learning disabilities. One has a short term memory problem that presents like ADHD but has allowed him to keep learning (albeit very slowly) well past the normal 2 year cutoff. The other has very poor spacial reasoning and communication skills that combined lead to the issues like with a non-verbal toddler (ie sharing, taking turns, handling emotions).

I had a cat who loved everyone at home, but a little demon at the vet. His ex-family had him declawed and the vet techs still insisted I sedate him before a visit. My current cat is much better behaved and lets the vet techs do things to him that would earn me a bite if I tried at home.

Our vet just calls all patients "vira-latas" ("muts" in portuguese) and i love that.

Oi. People, please respect your vet. If you don't, find a different vet. Dog owner here: Me: Breed? Pure breed mutt. (Actually they tell me. Terrier mix. Yeah, close enough.) Me: Food? Cat poop if he can get it, but the same kibble he's gotten for 10 years that he still will do spins for when it's meal time. Me: Please use a muzzle for your safety. He's reactive to being held. (Yeah, I know it's because I'm a horrible dog companion.) Me: Let's make an appointment where he can be anesthetized and do everything that needs doing: exam, nail trim, butt squeeze, shots (if any). If he needs teeth cleaned, do that, too. Also cat owner...no instructions. She's good about being handled.

I am such such such a mix of these two. Yeah I have a pure breed dog- and I do give her a specialized diet (but nothing that I can’t get off Chewy), but honestly at her first puppy check in when the vet tech asked about her breed I said “She’s smart but will eat anything and chases butterflies- so Hufflepuff?” I laughed way too much at this video 😊❤

100% there should be a cat food swap network (my idea is a sort of CatEbay? Pay the postage and just send the cansin exchange for something else..??). My "angel" has 4 "flavours" she will eat (maybe) and another 3 she occasionally eats... My kitchen resembles the cat aisle of our local supermarket at times...🤦‍♀🤦‍♀😼😼

That last one for cat is so accurate in my life. My cat grew up on very good wet food until one day she went nope and stopped eating wet food. I bought all sorts of brands, textures, flavors… nothing. I bought kibble and she went back to eating. I then had to play around with the kibble a bit, but she is at least munching again. Cats, I swear.

My cat is really active, even though she's 12 now. If I don't play with her, she will wake me up at 2am running around. The last time we where at the vet, she got the spa treatment. They numbed her up and continously fed her treats while injecting her. I have never seen her so chill at a vets office!

This is so funny but true! Love this video. You nailed it! I love both but I am a Cat owner now that feeds organic chicken to my Cat. I cook it separately from ours and grind it up and add steamed broccoli. He’s a rescue, non chipped Siamese. He’s a talker and a territorial guy. Really good at the Vet. He’s actually active at home runs after us so we do a lot of playing and loves to look out the windows. We have to constantly challenge him to get the best out of him. Dude runs from one end of the house to the next. Then sleeps to get up in the evening to play again I never had this active of a Cat. He is quiet around strangers this is why no one rescued him right away as we rescued him at 6 months. We just held him and played with him. He didn’t want to go back in the cage. He never goes outside because he’s afraid.

Tried to exercise my dominance over our house cat and demanded he eat the food I bought or nothing at all. The cat won! He literally went a whole day without even touching it and I broke. Threw the food out and bought the kind he found acceptable 🤦🏾‍♀️🤣🤦🏾‍♀️ Cats run the house.
