This was Portlandia in its prime. So dead on with 21st century American types and situations. Sketch comedy such as SNL's seems so retro in comparison.
For real. It should be illegal to say that, unless you literally saved it from imminent harm, or you stumbled upon it in dire straits and were the only one who could have saved it.
I disagree. There’s nothing wrong with telling others you rescued your pet. There are millions of unwanted dogs and cats in shelters that get euthanized each year while people are buying fancy purebreds from breeders. It’s a real problem. To share that your pet came from a shelter or rescue organization is educational to others who are considering owning one themselves.
As a Man who grew up in Portland and now lives in a nearby suburb, this scene and show is spot on. Every exaggeration they make about Portland hipster weirdos is not an exaggeration. It’s perfect. “Portland” people may be the worst the world has to offer. Well done Portlandia. Well done.
Me too- to the left is my piddy- they don't say things to me, just give me looks. She is too scared to walk on a wet lawn, but they treat me like I have a machine gun 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Where I live it's not too bad, but I've also had instances where dog owners are like "your dog is not supposed to come to my dog!" even though they're all loose on the doggie beach... like, really lady, are all 10 of us here supposed to leash up our dogs so you can walk yours freely..... (and then her dog chased my dog into the water, which she got upset about).
This reminds me of one dude at the dog park who bought his dog running shoes, and also would go "eww don't drink out of that" whenever his dog tried to drink out of the water bowl that all the other dogs were using. He wasn't white though.
My favorite part is when they acknowledge at the end that ALL of these types of people get nearly identical looking dogs because they're following ridiculous dog owner trends.
