@Alexia Zamora didn't mean to trigger you, I don't feel comfortable around dogs bigger than a ...Westie 😅 it's the teeth which are bigger and sharper than humans', plus a jaw that's more powerful (in most medium/large dogs). I don't find "they're trained" reassuring. If a cat was the size of a golden retriever, I doubt you'd be comfortable either 😅 Doesn't stop me from hanging out with dog owners, just not with their dogs 😅 or sleeping with ppl who sleep with their dogs but I doubt I'd get that far (given the dog) 😂
From my personal experience I find cat lovers to be more empathetic than cat haters. Especially cat loving men. Every single feline loving man I encountered was extremely empathetic and emotionally intelligent. Not hating on dogs, I have both, I just don't understand how can someone hate cats. In my opinion if you call yourself an animal lover you love them all, not just the ones who will bend over backwards on your whim.
Cat guys are the best. My dads a cat guy and he’s been caring for 16 strays in his new neighborhood. He sends me pics of them and updates me regularly on how they’re doing ❤
I love both but cats own my heart. Because I have a cat and she's my absolute favourite being in the world. (I also think I wouldn't have the heart to say no to a dog on anything. I can't even say no to my cat, and dogs actually look hurt if you say no to them.)
Lol my boyfriend loves animals in general but cats are his favourite, when he's angry, he's hell(has anger issues) but other times, he's the sweetest. He rejects people but me and cats

Playing dead doesn't work on cats. They just think your'e sleeping (their hearing is super sharp too) However if a cat is alone in the house and wants to see you, they will cry a lot. I was in the toilet and my cat just came from outside. He started meowing like crazy because he couldn't find me. I had to rush my business and quickly reassure him that I was there. He realised I was in the toilet but kept meowing in despair.
That’s so cute! My daughters cat meows at me all the time like “Nana pick me up and give me loves….. and FEED ME!!” lol 😂 My dog always lays outside the bathroom while I’m in there and will usually cry if he can’t get to me. He’s gotta have my 6. 😄🙌🏻🙌🏻🤩💖
My cat cried for me when I had to go to work after I first got her, but now she just cries and tries to break into any room I'm in if there's a closed door blocking her way in
They just hate privacy. When I closed my bedroom door they’ll wants to get in too. When I go to bathroom and closed the door then wants to be there too. They just don’t respect my privacy at all, because once I opened the door they’ll just walking around and go away anyway until I re-close my door they’ll start to meowing again.

Oh boy. Once I was crying and hyperventilating in my room, and my cat jumped on the bed, pacing. I thought he was worried about me. He comes up to me and slaps me in the face. Not a gentle pat, just a genuine slap. I did feel his nails, but he didn't try to scratch me or anything. It didn't help, I cried even more.

Dogs are great because they love you unconditionally and are always happy to see you. Cats are great because when they choose you, you feel like the most special person in the universe.
The only comment that matters. Both cats and dogs are amazing animals to have around. And even of you prefer the one over the other the traits you like about the one you van find them in certain breeds of the other. Like if you like dogs you could get a maincoon cat and if you like cats you can get a chow chow, malamute husky mix. And sometimes you just find that special cat or dog you bond with. Like I prefer cats but I adored the Chihuahua I had as a kid. And my grandpa prefers dogs but he adores my cat.
Fax. My baby Pickles fr only loves me. When we got her she was the only survivor of her family who was attacked by coyotes, only 2 weeks old, only half of the size of a 2 week old kitten, starved to the bones, and is autistic. Because of this, I cared for her like my own baby. I fed her correct amounts at breakfast, lunch and dinner, gave her specialized milk for malnourished kittens, bathed her in the tub, let her clean my beard when she needed to learn how to clean since she didn’t have a momma to teach her, and always cuddled/slept with her in my bed. Now she stays by my hip 24/7, I can call her with a high pitched hum, sits or lays on my back when I walk, and she always sleeps either curled up behind my legs or under the covers with me. However the second anyone else in my fam tries to pick her up and pet her, she’ll either run away or freak the fuck out😂
Omg it's true. I'm in love with my roommate's tortie, and every time she comes up to me and boops her head on my lips so I can kiss her, I totally melt

How do dog people have so much energy? God, I can’t do it. Cats are perfect. They’re so low maintenance and if they want attention, they’ll come to you. And they are secretly very sweet. They are sweet furry lil babies and I love them
I have two cats who are full of energy and two who are laid back. It's either really hectic with two cats running around or really chill when all four cats are resting at the same time. 🤣🤣

And dog bag,strollers,coats,shoes, and a baby tub with battery powered jets for bath time. And that’s just my Pomeranians life. My red and blue nose are way more expensive meat for them alone is a huge monthly expense. I’m seriously considering raising meat birds next spring for them.
@@TheGyreMadHatter That means they either don't clean the box or they buy a cheap litter. Cats don't have body odor. It's the pee/poop that stinks. I agree though. I can't stand pet odor and I own both.
@@TheGyreMadHatter all of the cat homes I've been to smell nice and not like urine. Maybe because my friends and I clean our cats litter box. Dog homes, however, always smell like dogs no matter how much people clean dogs smell a lot.
@@TheGyreMadHatter Sounds like the people you know with cats have males who spray...possibly unneutered males. Urine smell is not really normal, even if you have an open litter box.
My cats greet my spouse, father in law, and I when we come home...at least one cat is always around to greet us. My Oldest cat, when it was just me and her when she was a kitten, used to wait for me in my third floor apartment window and as soon as she saw me she'd run to wait by the door. She's always gotten along better with dogs than most cats.
My cat is very cold when I’m around but when I get out and comeback she misses me a lot, she comes to the door and start meowing at me, she rarely meows.
@@raing8942 you get a more emotional connection the more you work on an animal. You can ignore your dog too, they just won't be loyal to you. If you spend as much time with a cat and train a cat you'll have the same emotional connection. You get back what you're giving.
This is true. I don't own a cat but there are stray cats in my building and I've been feeding them for years. It got to the point that one of them memorized my schedule and would be waiting for me at the door when I left for school.

ferrous719 as someone nearing year five of the waiting list and bringing home a purebred this December (of a breed totally different from the one I started out on a waiting list for), I feel this. Dog 1 is a shelter find, chow x ???. Cat 1 and Cat 2 are orange shorthair moggies. Cat 3 is a longhair tortie. Dog 2 is... a Chow-x-Husky-x-GSD-x-Beagle-x-Staffie-x-APBT-x-Rottweiler-x-possible Lakeland Terrier. (She has an EMBARK profile proving it, too.) and then you have dog three, my soon-to-be not-a-Standard-Poodle Australian Shepherd. Who will be born in a month. And who I don’t even think I get to pick the gender of. Hoping for a boy, but have two names picked out just in case. Super stoked though.

Not my cats! They’re sweet and love to cuddle next to me or on me! When people have come over to my house, both my cat’s will sit next to my house guest. When I had a bad headache the other day, my cat Angel, curled up next to me and took a nap with me. Of course cats and dogs are not the same but not all cats are divas or mean to people.

@Mack Not true. I have 3 cats and 1 stray cat that i feed, and they're all very loving towards me and my dogs. They're only distant with people with whom they haven't formed a bond and don't trust. Not to mention that the way any animal is raised profoundly influences how they'll be as adults. A lot of people who adopt cats treat them a certain way because they believe that nonsense, so they never really earn their cats trust. They don't respect their boundaries or learn how to read their body language, consequently even though their cat loves them, they don't trust them.
@Mack My landlord's cat was separated waaaaay too early from her mom and littermates, and he never saw the need to adopt another kitten to help her socialize with her own kind. He said cats are just fine being alone. Not true! Anyway, his cat is very standoffish with everyone but him and afraid of me even though I've fed, given her treats and tried to get her to feel safe with me on multiple occasions when he was hospitalized. I feel sorry for that poor cat. She watches my cats and acts like she wants to join them but doesn't know how to make friends, even though they've tried to befriend her.

I woke up one day because my cats were playing and one of them ran over my face and scratched it and now I have two marks that haven't gone away after months yay. This doesn't make me love my cats any less, they're the best 🤗

I had a cat that would come when you called him but that cat I could follow him around the house petting him all day. I tested it once and did this for a few hours he still enjoyed it I got tired of it.

I'm an introvert, and I have both a dog and a cat. When I'm feeling hyper I go out and play with my dog and when I'm exhausted and need some alone time, I have my cat somewhere around.

Reminds me of when I was moving out of my apartment, and I couldn’t find my cat. My friend and I were looking everywhere, even outside in case she ran out. I was so frantic, and I started crying. 10 minutes later she maneuvered her way from behind some boxes, sat right in front of me and started licking her paws😹
Anon E I know right. Mine crave my attention. They have never hurt me. They love to lay on my lap and be petted. They’re so sweet. I have one that likes to lay across my shoulders and nuzzle my face. I really hate the cat sterotypes out there. It’s such a disservice to cats
@M1chael And dogs are useful? You have to take dogs on walks, pick up their sh!t, and they are loud and they bark all the time. So annoying, Cats don't need to go on walks and they poop in a litterbox which is way easier to clean, and they are quiet.

My cat does a very hollow howl that sounds like someone shouting “wrong wrong wrong” if he can’t see me when he’s finished eating/if I leave the room before he wakes up/if I go to bed without taking him with me... He might have some abandonment issues, he was a stray.
Truth. We have 3, but my ride or die (I lived alone with one cat for 10 years) won’t even let me go in the bathroom without her. She slams her head against the door the entire time in there and yowls. A relaxing bath is impossible unless I let her come in and sit on the edge of the tub with me.
I feel like most cats do not connect with hyper or obnoxious people. They like patience, kindness, and softness. Cats are really meant for certain people 😅 My cat didn't like me as much when I was 9 years old, but now I'm older and she wants my attention all the time! So sweet :)
Very true. Dog people can be exhausting. I guess that's why they're perfect for dogs because dogs can also be exhausting. I find the constant need for an outlet for all of that hyper energy (both dogs and dog people) to be annoying. I'm an introvert and I love cats.
Hmp, not quite, cats can be hyped too! You have't seen a real cats playing yet if you say so. Cats jump on walls, break things and bite your hands or other cats when hyped.

I’m a bit of an aberration here. I’m a homebody, but an extrovert, and I have ADHD and I’m loud. I find dogs to be overwhelming and too much energy and responsibility, I am a cat person through and through. Even very skittish, shy cats are usually drawn to me. If I am at someone’s house for the first time and they own a cat, there’s a good 95% chance that I will be approached by the cat even if the cat is typically an antisocial hider who doesn’t like new people. I think cats just inherently sense their people even if we are a bit chaotic. I’ve been asked “how did you get my cat to sit in your lap?” more times than I can count. Wouldn’t change it for the world, though.
That’s not necessarily true ~ my cards love me but I can get rlly energetic I think it’s more about the right match of cat to person & learning about their needs & individual personalities

Holy shit I think that person who told you that is right, whoa. That kinda blew my mind because I thought of a few friends I have who don't like cats, most of them if not all of them show some sign of feeling like they need control, even if it's small. One friend in particular despises cats, he's a guy friend of mine (I'm a girl), he ended up eventually coming to talk to me about his breakup. The guy was totally shattered and needed a girl's advice on it. He broke down everything to me, and I gave him advice but I also had to sit him down and explain that certain things he did were very controlling, and that it's likely the reason for her breaking up with him and doing all these new things he never knew she wanted to do. He wasn't abusive to her like that as far as I'm concerned, he is a kind person from my view, but even if, some people don't realize fully that they're being controlling and I had to be blunt with him on it. He took the criticism.

I have four cats from my grandparents farm and one we named ginger he is really fluffy and orange. Sometimes he just starts following me he also follows me if I pet him, he also play catch with hair ties
so true. I never wanted a "damn" cat, now I have two. I cannot have a dog now because I already have two cats. If I ever get a dog, that's because my cats need a dog to accompany them when they are outside playing.

I don't do pets at all because they're essentially children and I'm not ready to raise a child yet. BUT......cats are independent. I like an independent pet. So I lean cat.
Cats aren't as independent as you think. They are like having a roommate that likes you; sometimes they just want to chill alone, while other times they want 100% of your attention.
cats are children, but like... teenagers. they can do well on their own most of the time, but you gotta make sure to look after them from time to time. i love my cats~

I was at a client's home. Beautiful cat came and sat on the floor next to me. I asked could I pet it. she said sure. Next thing I know, nothing but black fur and teeth. And the lady acted surprised. Uh huh. You knew you had an attack cat. I had a visible scar for almost 10 years. I don't trust other people's pets. I look sideways at mine if I ever run low on food or am late for a feeding.
@@shenanigansofanotaku I was attacked by a police dog when I was in 2nd grade, also, my mom was always afraid of dogs too. So I never had a good track record with them. As for cats, I'm not actually afraid of them, I was just saying it for the joke. I like cats a lot.
As a person who has had both, I love both! But I currently have a cat, so for now I prefer it. It's also easier to take care of. Also, for dogs I prefer medium to medium-large dogs, which would be more of a hassle to take care of with my schedule and apartment, but for cats they're all mostly the same size and they're perfect that way. That's maybe one of the reasons I (currently) prefer cats. Also, my cat used to not be someone who wanted to be pet much, but now he is literally the softest baby ever! I imagine he'll finally find it okay to lay on humans in not too long. (He doesn't like to lay on something "unstable" .)
@Elio I'm not the biggest fan of tiny dogs either, but I can see the charm! You definitely need to treat cats with respect and give them time. My cat, who's eleven years old this year, suddenly became extremely cuddly and sweet one or two years ago! It's not like he wasn't nice and loving before though. But now he is extremely sweet. 😂🥰
