I’m a total cat person. I hate it when my friends call them my “fur babies”. They are not substitutes for the children I never had. They’re replacements for the cool college roommates I never had.
Cats are arguably the most entertaining animal you can keep as a pet. I mean, yeah you can play with a dog and they have their fun moments. But cats have some of the best reactions and personality quirks of any animal. And they’re just so relaxed, perfect pet for anyone who’s lazy af
I grew up eith mostly dogs but now i live with my cat and husband with his family. XD most pictures i have or have ever taken is for or about my cat lol
I wrestle on the ground with my cat, just like I did with my dog when she was alive. My cat "hunts" me and will jump up and take me down to the ground by biting the back of my naked thigh. I let her be an animal, instead of a pet, when she wants to be. She's never truly hurt me, we both just play rough. My other cat is the opposite, he is just a lover boy who wants attention and to be petted and have belly rubs.
Him explaining how cat people don’t hate dogs is literally spot on. I use that quote all the time when I tell people I’m a cat person. “I just like other people’s dogs. I’ll play with them then they can go back over there.”
I think being a dog vs cat person is highly dependent on your personality. Dogs would be way too much for me. I need my own space and this why I love cats. They need theirs too.
@@ihsahnakerfeldt9280 facts!! I'm the exact same way!! I don't need to always be jumped in every time I leave the house for 5 mins to take out the dam trash lol!! Dogs are too needy, which is ok for some people I guess cuz most people adore dogs, but not me.. I don't hate them or wanna hurt them by any means, just would rather see/ play with them from a distance lol not in my crib
@@ihsahnakerfeldt9280 couldn’t agree more. I'm an introvert who loves big, scary dogs because they keep people away. No one is keen to conversation with someone who has a Boxer (my dog), Doberman, Belgian Malinois, or German Shepherd by their side. It's wonderful. They're great at discouraging door-to-door salespeople or whatever.
He totally gets it! Cats are low maintenance. They are clean, do their poops and pees in a litter box. They like a little catnip while I have some vino. They never embarrass me by humping a friends leg, and they are for the most part quiet.
Litter smells horrible, how is that clean? The licking is also a bit much. Alternative is letting them out unsupervised which is completely inconsiderate to neighbors. They have more destructive capability sonce they can climb higher, and since they don't really listen to discipline due to lack of group social ability. In addition, all of the things you cannot do with them :take them hiking, teach them tons of tricks (without a clicker) play with them yourself (not with the toy) without them running off, overall interactivity (dogs learn words outside of tricks), and ability to scratch the belly without worry of a fear of an irritating piercing shreiking hissy fit mental attack.
@@ultra-chad4951 Not saying you're wrong overall, but you don't need a toy to play with a cat. I used to play and wrestle with cats all the time. Also, some cats are fussy, but others are the sweetest things and can't get enough pettings. It's just a matter of personality and if they've ever experienced abuse or neglect before. Lastly, there are certain breeds that are just as social as dogs, like ragdolls I think they're called? Or ragmuffins? Something like that. (Also, litter boxes aren't stinky if you know what you're doing.)
@@ultra-chad4951 litter doesn't smell as bad as dogs if you clean it our properly 😂 seriously, I've never walked into a dog owners house and not been able to smell the dog. Also, my cat used to play tag and hide and seek with me, so they can definitely play without toys. Overall, it's just preference. You prefer dogs for your reasons and we prefer cats for ours 🤷
@@ultra-chad4951 there are pros and cons to owning a dog and a cat, everyone knows this much, the only thing is cats get a bad rap because so many people no real experience with cats. best tip in the world.... never buy them toys(most cats will play with them once and almost never again) , best toys for most cats is a empty cardboard box, shoe string and a laser pointer.... the only 3 things you will never need.
i completely agree, this guys excellant. too many comedians these days just rely on swearing and saying sexual/vulgar things all the time. Frankie Boyle does that a lot for example, and it just makes me cringe, its like when kids learn a new word and just go around saying it all the time. it just feels kind of pathetic to watch
Tricky. I like his style and I want to agree, but comedy is funny because it short-circuits your brain a bit by touching on sensitive topics. Because cussing is so common in everyday life, at least where I live, I feel this Dry Bar comedy is not hitting the right nerves. Maybe a wider societal issue to tackle. ;)
They are very special. It’s a shame more ppl don’t realise that. I am in animal rescue. A cat who I helped saved his foster carer from an impending house fire. She had the flu and was sleeping, dosed up on medicine. He kept jumping on her in bed until she woke up. She then adopted him. ❤️
Yeah I remember when I cried really hard on my own in my bed after my dad passed away, my kitten came running at me and nuzzled my side. She looked at me as if telling me that everything's gonna be okay.
My cat was apathetic towards everyone but me. And he wouldn't let anyone pet him for long, but god help me if I ever had the audacity to stop petting him. He would get up and nuzzle my really hard, touch his nose to mine, and then meow until I caved and started to pet him again. It was annoying, but I would give anything to have him pester me for love again
Cat person here... about three weeks ago a cat showed up at my door starving... I fed her and Memorial Day morning she had a kitten underneath my deck. Well her name is now Gina and waiting about another week to meet her little one. It was a little fur ball but when I go and check on it, it’s gotten so big! It’s a cutie too. Cutest little meow. So just like that I have 2cats. Geesh. They do choose you. I was minding my business opening my back door to feed the birds... there she was. The birds hate me now by the way. They feel so betrayed:) lol They still come to eat but they do it in stealth mode.
Angelofmusic Wonder they chose you because you have them food so they know your a reliable food source not because they love you they may like you more then other people who don’t give them food but that’s about it
@@dragonking2719 - Not true. Cats will choose you in a shelter. They'll hop into your car. They'll follow you home from school. There's no food present in any of these scenarios. I've had 2 kittens presented to me. The cuter one kept running off & ignoring me. The other less cute (but still pretty) kitten settled on my lap, started purring like a motor, and every so often looked up & gave me the slow-blink aka "I love you" eyes. That's when you know that it doesn't matter which cat you prefer, the cat that belongs to you will establish the bond, while other cats will distance themselves (until they find their own person.)
YourMajesty143 yeah my cat picked me. I went to the shelter to look for an orange tabby...and Gizmo (not orange) kept trying to climb into my arms. So I fell in love and the rest is history
I LOVE THIS!! Senior cats are the best!! Such unconditional love, like they know you changed their world. You’re a beautiful person for rescuing Jessica!!
We adopted a cat a long time ago and he is almost a senior. Close to 10 years I think. All 14 other cats were all raised from birth or almost from birth.
"I like dogs. I just like them over there and I'll play with them, but then go back over there". Exactly 😂 The best explanation of my thoughts on why I am a cat person 😂
People’s real problem with cats is cuz they can’t as easily bend them to their own will. That’s it. Dogs obey without question while cats have minds of their own.
My friend’s cat is like that. They barely see eachother since the cat’s always outside and only goes home to eat and sleep. I’ve been to his house numerous times and i’ve only seen his cat like 4-5x 😂
Dead on. I think this is the best depiction I've seen about the difference between cat people and dog people. "I like dogs. I just like them over there... I don't like that kind of energy in my house. That annoying dog best friend in your face all the time energy."
My husband was looking for a dog (he’s team dog, I’m team cat) that would fit our family, and fixated on getting a Great Dane. I was horrified. But I wanted him to be happy, so I went along with what I thought would be a dog that was a LOT of extra. Turns out: She is the chillest dog I’ve ever seen. Not a peep except a tiny yowl when I come home. She doesn’t smell. Some dogs have it no mattter how clean they are. She doesn’t seem to shed. She doesn’t jump up. Walks great on a leash. Snuggles up into what seems like a little ball next to you. The bad? When we first brought her home (she was rescued from a puppy farm), she busted the glass out of our back door, chewed on the wood, and made a tooth imprint on the knob. I figured out it was because she wanted her “security toy” left outside. She roams beyond our fenced yard if the gate isn’t closed. Apparently a Dane thing. But we now know to close it so she can gallop around like a deer 😂
Thank god someone understands why my cat is so fat, too. "Wow, that's a big cat. Have you considered putting him on a diet?" "Yes, but I decided I liked my household items unbroken, so we stopped."
Had a cat named Oliver, and he was orange. You know, like Oliver and Company? Coolest cat on the planet. He basically was a human in a feline’s body. He was also very photogenic. Little guy took pictures like it was scripted. He’s no longer with us. I don’t mean he’s passed. We just had to give him to a better home. Miss the little dude. Not sure why anyone would care, but hey... there’s Oliver for you.
Awwww. I had a black cat named Oliver from Oliver and Company. He went with our neighbors. I have his sister Matilda (from the movie). Total love bug. If she ever sees someone crying, she'll sit right in front of them and give them a "talk to me, I'm a therapist" look. Absolutely adorable.
My sister fostered animals for the local pound. She ended up adopting a three-legged cat (its mother chewed its leg off in the middle of the night right after birth and left it to die in the litter box). He had to have an operation to remove the stub that remained because the vet said it would mess up his gait and posture-cats try to put an existing bit down to the floor and can screw up their hips in doing so. They named it "Captain Barbosa. He is a healthy, happy permanent part of their family now!
Mythlover B that actually is a motherly instinct. If mama cat doesn't think the baby will survive she will either eat the baby entirely or eat a leg so it will bleed out. It's very sad.
Lydia Reyes huh. I didn’t know that was a thing. That really IS sad. I guess no matter how much time passes or how much breeding is done you can’t really wipe away an animal’s natural instincts.
“You don’t ask for one You get bestowed one” true! My roommate and I found our deaf cat while walking through a forest and traintracks. Best random thing you can find on traintracks
dogs are trained to love unconditionally , you don't have to fight for its attention that's why it's so special when you have a connection with your cat, it's better because it's harder earned. that and cats are much cleaner, low maintenance, respect personal space, quieter. Clearly the superior out if the two
They are just different animals. They are what they are. Dogs are pack animals; they were domesticated from wolves. They're also really intelligent useful. A cat can't herd a flock of sheep. Cats can keep pests away. They're both wonderful animals and they're different. Dogs are extremely loyal to their owners also. They just need more attention, activity and interaction. Cats are more independent.
@@machigiceb7788 Yeah it can be energetically draining to people who lack emotional intelligence, consideration, and healthy bodies. It’s not a problem of the dog having too much energy, it’s a problem within you being unwilling or unable to challenge yourself beyond an ego centric idleness. I’m very introverted myself and my dogs are calm and trained to respect my boundaries; naturally I believe dogs are better than cats because unlike felines, they make you better versions of yourself.
He was on AGT!!! And tried to do this act but didn't get through. I felt so bad for him >. < I actually like this act and was surprised they didn't like it. :'(
I think they cut that video in a way to make him look unsuccessful but I bet he was great. He just didn't get through because, like above said, he wasn't sad enough with a touching story.
Cats are the best! They’re low maintenance yet highly entertaining! My cat Scrappy runs so fast in the living room, she ends up running sideways when coming close to furniture. She also has me well trained. I’m the pet & I own it. Unconditional love at its finest!
I wanted a special needs animal. I looked but didn't ask. Took home a Jack Russel. Oh well no special needs animal. I came home from work. Jack was curled up sleeping. Kept sleeping until he saw me then he went nuts with joy. Jack was deaf and the animal shelter wasn't aware of it. Best buds we were.
I don't get what's wrong about asking for a special needs animal. A lot of people prefer healthy pets, cause they need less care. So what's wrong with saying you are ready to give more care than others?
"it just means I like other people's dogs" most relatable line ever for me. I'm stoked for my upcoming housesitting gig but I know that by the end of the week I'm gonna be stoked to going back to my neighborhood stray cats
I have always had cats and my decision is confirmed as the best one every time I see a dog owner walking their dogs outside in sub-zero temperature just so the dog can poop.
The only times cats come up to their Owners is for food and pets/cuddles. (And play, depending on the age, breed and personality of the cat.) Other times, they're your beloved roomate.
I got bestowed with 2 cats that are disabled. The first one aroura ( because she's a princess) we didn't know was disabled until 3 months later when she still couldn't find the treats that we threw at her. She also doesn't like wet food. Mostly because she can't see very well. She thinks she can but 5 minutes into fetch and she's still looking for the first throw. The second the ladies at the humane society opened the cage and told my sister to put her hand in. This cat looked gross and sad but it grabbed her hand. She felt horrible. We named him Garth and he had just had surgery were the vet took his leg because a bbgun pellet broke his pelvis. We did not intend to even buy a cat let alone 2 that day. We were bestowed them. They chose us. It's wierd.
HOW has this routine not been turned into a screenplay yet?! Come on, Zoltan! You can go do it. I have faith in you! You belong on the big screen (or Netflix, HBOMax, Amazon Prime, whatever streaming service I have a subscription for * grin *). I would definitely watch that.
Jessica and my cat would be friends haha. My cat boycotted his diet food. He would either sit in front of the food bowl and stare sadly at it or sit at my front door staring at it like "You feed me or I'm gone human" :p
Cats are literally the best. There cute, affectionate, funny, lazy and loving. I hate when people say your can’t have a relationship with them. You can! It just takes time. I mean tbh if you meet this random creature 10 times your size HOW in heck are you going to trust them?? Plus they don’t bark so loudly that your eardrums break! ( I like dogs yes but I’m really just not a dog person lol)
I have belonged to cats for most of my life. Some of them have been very affectionate. But yes, if the food situation is not to their liking, there is the standing on the head thing.
Never had that, but if they need food Nugglet will get my attention and lead me to their bowl. Not even loudly, just by staring or a soft meow. She's a smart girl, and so polite. I guess Bob taught her manners or something. x3
@Sara Allison That boy who was saved by his cat when he was a toddler getting attacked by a dog says otherwise. :) Just because cats don't lick your face and invade your personal space, doesn't mean they don't love you.
Oh man this is so true. My dog has me trapped in my room while he has the entire house because I just cant deal with that. I'm making it work though, but never again lol
Marci LK The lint roller and a full length mirror belong on back porch, always leave that way and lint roll yourself every time you leave or that one time you forget you will track hair into the car, then it is there until you get the car detailed...
My husband and l are owned by two lovely, neurotic cats, Bandit and Bella & while we both love all animals, l totally agree about the dog energy. I compare it to my grandkids ~ with hubby in his late 60s and me in my mid 50s, we absolutely adore all 11 of the cheeky little monkeys 🐒🐵🐒but when we've had our fill of 20 questions or trying to keep up with their video games etc we get to go home..... alone.... with two very quiet chill cats lol 🐱🤗🐱
I get why people don’t change the name of pets. But I adopted two cats who were found on Halloween and given to the RSPCA and since it was Halloween they named them after the sweet, candy corn. So one cat was called Candy, but the other was called Corn. CORN, who does that, so I changed her name.
You changed it to Korn, naturally! Err I mean, yeah. Pets learn a new name easily enough, and if they've *just* been renamed at a shelter anyways, it's even more irrelevant.
I got both of my cats from the same shelter. They name them at this place, instead of just giving them id numbers, which I thought was sweet, but I changed both of my cats' names. Sydney became Winnie (she's my orange tigress), and Karl became Jack (my black leopard). They both know their names but, since they're cats, they still reserve the right to ignore me when I call them, on occasion.
Love this video. I just got done dog sitting for my parents while they were out of town. They're sweet and I love them but after a few minutes, I was thinking "go away." Loved getting home to my 3 cats that just come up to me, give me the side-eye, rub on me, then go about their own business.
I absolutely love this channel, started following this last month on FB and just had this on my recommendation for RU-vid so why the hell not. You got a sub!! ❤❤❤
