Thank you for creating these videos. I am brand new to the sport and attend handling classes. In between, I supplement with your videos. They are on when I practice with my two puppies, Summer and Shiloh. I can tell that we are improving!

Great! One thing I might stress on the table though, is making sure you don't stack the dog too far back: you want them towards the front of the table and close enough to the judge's side so that they don't have to stretch to reach the dog. Also, you want them aligned parallel to the edge of the table, not crooked.😃

Thank you for sharing with us - I find your technique very correct, and making the stack effortless.

i also wanted to tell you thanks because u tried to help and that is something good. and an advice: if you have a dog u should touch him when it is eating so he develops confidence you should let him know that he is eating for u and hes got to respect u to get that reward, also if u do this when its a pup he will never bite u again and wont be an agressive dog.

I just saw you at the B.E.K.C. dog show on Sunday and asked you if you were the one who does the online videos on you tube! : D Would you please do a video on how to show train a french bulldog puppy? Greatly would appreciate it since handling the very short muzzle of a frenchie is a challenge to hold while trying to stack it and keep it straight like you do with your bigger dogs that you teach in your stacking videos. Also proper feet placement of the frenchie when stacking them. Thanks!!!

I did enjoy this and found this rather helpful. However I show Rough and Smooth collies. Obviously mine free-stack but I have a young puppy (3 months) who is still needed to be hand-stacked at this time. I would enjoy a video of your training methods when getting them to stay still as you fix them. This little one of mine is a wiggle worm and the training methods I have used on all of my other collies seem to not work on this little gal.

hey, thanks; my dog (TWIX, female) is now 9 month old, she is kind of a show dog, very obidient and playfull. unfortunately i started training her like at 6 month old and i trained her with treats, since she is a cocker spaniel she is hiperactive and cant stop moving,shes always looking for food. im solving this problem by showing her calm tricks(or patience tricks), for example puting her on stay for at least 1 minute so she calms down, im challenging her more everyday.

Holding them by the muzzle is pretty uncomfortable. Also, technically the head is not straight, it is pulled upwards so that is actually compressing the spine and not a normal stance that a dog would choose to do.

@imaballlla

now my question is this. say you have a shorter breed that does not go on the table my example will be the English bull dog. this is a breed with no snout to grab a hold of to walk in straight, not to mention the height difference. how would you do this? would you be able to make a video just like this one for that breed?
@CzonVet
@CzonVet 12 лет назад
what if you have a really excited dog that gets a lil hiper when you touch him and is there a hand signal or command to tell them to stack. for istance...can i just say "Logan stack" like I say "Logan Sit" or "Logan Down" by the way my dog is name Logan if you didn't pic that up.
@ashleymelendez4914
@ashleymelendez4914 11 лет назад
How would you correct a dog that wants to sit at all time instead of standing? I have tried to stack her and she just sits. It's as if she goes limp in the rear. Now if I stack her on stackers she stands.?.? I am not understanding what is going on. Can you maybe give some advice.

@leahsmusicx
@leahsmusicx 12 лет назад
umm im 10, but if your dog is a resued dog then it has probably has been has been hit for no reason (Not by you)and if its a puppy depending on its age it would probably be scared or shy like my pup was shy he turned one the other day. and he is grand but if that doesnt work just show it that your harmless maybe by taking a meaty treat and giving it to her by hand and she might be persauded but donnot touch her when she is chewing besuase she will get scared again!

Great video... Now, I deal with American bullies, and I come across often when I'm handling a dog that when setting the front legs they lean toward the opposite side, some of them really bad!. What I do when I handle dogs like that, I set the front legs both at the same time then work my way to the rear, is there a way to break that out of the dogs?
@MsBrehay

Lol american bullies are not an akc recognized i doubt this guy has advice on that.

Show handling goes just about the same with any breed... thats why I asked
@TimePinkRanger
@TimePinkRanger 9 лет назад
bigtattoorick I have a Jack Russell that does a similar thing. Whenever I get my knees to the ground he will lean towards the opposite side. So I always to do his stacks with me standing, which is bad since I always need to correct his legs.

I hate dog shows because dogs don't have a will anymore serously that man holds the dog from the snout to the nose WHYYYYY!!!! Your just useing dogs as a object I ain't no crazy dog lover but if you look further to reality we don't give animals feedom we keep me in homes hand leshes, if you wore a lesh you would know how they feel
