I bought some dried breakfast sausage last fall figuring it'd be good for traveling but can't find it now so switched to dried sausage -- biltong is what it's called I think. Just tried dried fish skins. Worked really well as they could smell it easy, dogs could nibble on it, relatively hypoallergenic, travels well, easy to have in my pocket.

Do you keep this in the fridge till show day? And also how do you keep if fresh when on the show grounds all day?

Keep it in a ziploc either in a refrigerator or an ice chest.
