Learn how to cure leash aggression in dogs in this video tutorial.
Training a dog who has leash aggression requires patience because in order to get the leash aggression to go away, you have to very slowly teach the dog a different behavior.
This biggest mistake people make when trying to cure leash aggression in dogs is rushing the process and pushing the dog to the next step before they are ready.
If you are training a dog with leash aggression it is critical that you do not use prong collars, choke chains, or shock collars as these devices can make the problem worse.
Curing leash aggression in dogs should be done completely force free and in a positive manner that actually address the underlying problem.
Watch this video to learn how to cure leash aggression in dogs and how to train a dog with leash aggression issues.

A I had practice this tecnique and me experience shows that dogs get more agressive with it. I wand addmit that it is "positive reinforcement" not "positive change", which mean that you can't change dogs attitude towards something by using a food. You can only reinforce already existing attitude. If dog has issues with dogs, even if it is not barking, growling, whining, pulling towards it, when he is seeing another dog,his emotion or thaught is't good. So we are talking about minor minuse. And if you are reinforcing this minor minuse, why to wander that after while it turns in lot bigger minuse.B Keeping a distance as part of tecnique in real life is almoust impossible to do. In this example with dog park even if you are keeping distance, there will be oners with their dogs that will leave the park or going towards it. So distance will be constantly changeing unless you and your dog aren't siting in a tree.

Im pretty sure my dog has leash reactivity because he does what you described and then once he meets the dog/person he's usually alright. However, sometimes, after he's pulled and whined and barked to meet the dog and we've gone over to the dog, he will growl and bark at the dog if the other dog is too close to him or excited. Does this sound like a combination or reactivity and aggression?

Very good. Better would be to show it practically.

Our Boxer is 11 months and 10 months of his life he was mistreated and tied up. At first he walked and acted perfectly on leash with almost 0 correction. Now when he is on the leash he gets extremely aggressive towards me or my fiance. The moment we end the walk and bring him inside he acts as if nothing has ever happened. We've only had him for 10 days at this point. We are reaching out to a professional for help. I hope we can correct his behavior. Otherwise he will have to go back to the rescue.

adwait rathod He gets protective over you. How does the dog walker walk the dog? Does the dog really cares about him, following him, or is does he just do his stuff, sniffing around, marking every stank.... Is it like that when YOU walk the dog (if it's not the opposite way)...?

This situation is the same with me and my boxer. However instead of the dog walker he gets aggressive with me or my fiance.

I live in a condo. My dog was on leash when he was attacked by my new neighbor's dog. When he is on leash in parks he is okay, but when he sees another big dog in the condo he goes crazy, so I don't know if the park training will work.

I can't tell if he has aggression or reactivity because I'm too afraid to let him get close to the dog to see if he'll calm down. Are there other ways to tell the difference?

It's all in reading body language. Can you describe how he acts in greater detail? Obviously seeing your dog would help the most, unfortunately. I understand your hesitation to let him get close without knowing how he'll react. Are his teeth bared, or no? Hackles up? Is his tail held high and rigid? Ears up and alert, or back? Does he tense up or bounce around? Is it all dogs that he reacts to, or just certain kinds?

This method will not work. Notice how the method is demonstrated in a classroom setting with no dogs as opposed to demonstrating this protocol in real life with dogs. They do this because it will not work, this is a nice theory, but cannot be applied in real life.

It is working great with my dog. One week using this exercise and he has improved significantly and is considerably less reactive on leash than before training. Therefore, you are full of shit and have no clue what you are talking about.

Works with my dog as well. This is literally how dogs learn. I don’t know how anyone could deny this?

just because something is taught in a classroom doesn't make it un-applicable. Positive trainers usually explain verbally instead of visually first because there's more theory involved in positive training when compared to traditional correction-based training. If you use corrections you simply punish whatever annoys you at the correct time and deal with possible side effects. Positive training aims at having no side effects at the "cost" of a more tactical approach to each problem. Harder for the owner, but better for the dog and safer for everyone involved.

acting and gagging and using scary words about a prong collar is not what a real dog pro does. This fellow is acting and is wrong
