I was never really a fan of dogs coming up in life but now that I own a miniature dachshund named Kevin because he's small and black like Kevin Hart I love him so much that I'm on vacation and I cant stop looking at photos of him 😢
In 67 Years I have had a variety of dogs as pets, from a Newfoundland to Jack Russells. In each breed I found traits unique to each Dog breed and was fond of them all. I have had a Minature Dachshund for six years, and this little girl is just so special. Give them lots of love and care, and you will never have a better friend.
I had dogs all my life growing up. I never really had a connection with them or felt like they were part of the family. So, as an adult I never owned a pet. Well, my fiancee got a mini dachshund about 1 month ago for her daughter. She was the runt of the litter, and the last one not sold. So we got her and named her Callie. I fell in love with that little snot as soon as I laid eyes on her. I feel like she is our child. I'm outside with her everyday since I gotta smoke outside. We spend hours out in the yard everyday. I keep her entertained while mommy studies! I just love that little booger as much as our kids. I take her to the store with me, take videos and show my co-workers all the time. She is definitely a great companion that I can't live without!
Got my mini boy 4 weeks ago, he’s nearly 3 and was completely untrained and not socialised at all. He’s learnt no, recognises people and dogs he likes 😂 and loves his healthy snacks. Adorable, cuddly and loyal..wouldn’t be without him ..he can open my loo door though and sits there while I’m on the loo! 🙄❤️
Best dogs in the world. They are stubborn for sure, if it's raining outside and they don't want to go they're not going, period. They can also be difficult to control around other dogs that they often don't get along with (unless it's another dachshund), but overall they are affectionate, loving, and hilariously funny dogs. I would not own any other breed of dog. They can develop a wide variety of health issues, but most can be ovioded with preventative care.
@@danielpv7570 It’s really important that they don’t get overweight. Vet told me that the ribs should be slightly visible. Otherwise, their spines are at increased risk of suffering spinal issues.
My very first loving dog we named lucky was a male daschund dog. Born in January 15, 2011.. Lucky was good hunter of mices in our house. I love you Lucky, rest in peace brother 😥😥
My Brady loved to hunt mice! The cat would play with them and torture the poor things. If you said, “Brady, get the mouse ... he’d kill it so fast! The little weiner would dive through my closet or zip around so fast like he was possessed, hunting mice. His face lit up if you even SAID “mouse” in casual conversation.
A friend gave me a Dachy mix because her husband was abusive and she was afraid that he would hurt the dog. She knew that I loved the "Hotdog" and she asked me if I wanted him. I sure did! I loved that little guy and I had him for approx 12 yrs. He passed 1/22 and I have never grieved SO much over losing ANY of my other dogs. This week 1/2023 I adopted a Dachund rescue from MISS.-he arrives Thurs 1/12 ,this Thurs, and I'm SO EXCITED!! I can't wait to hold him!!!
@@GirthConfirmed I just had to put my 18 year old miniature daschund down 2 weeks ago. I had her since 8 weeks old. She was absolutely the best dog I've ever had. I'm lost without her. She never had any issues with her back at all and was super healthy most of her life. She did go deaf and partially blind the last couple of years of her life and she had congestive heart failure, along with sundowners. To the very end, she was amazing!
Had a beautiful Black and Tan mini dachshund she lived 15 years she passed last February . I’m getting a new mini dachshund long haired puppy today I’m so excited . Best dog
I have a mini Dauschand that just turned 12 the other day. He is the love of my life and I make sure he always keeps his vet appt but he is not a real fan of that.
Worried about getting a mini and was thinking standard. Just worried they will be a bit frail and delicate. We got a king Charles here so a bit unsure which is best 🤔
Consistency and lots of patience. They're pretty stubborn but very much trainable. Mine was never crated in her 18 years of life. I got her at 8 weeks and had to put her down 2 weeks ago.. I'm lost. Hope you're having fun with yours! I'm sure it was love at first sight!
There’s actually another color of Dachshund, it’s called double dapple which is a genetic mishap that makes them white and one of the other colors. I have one his name is hank and he’s beautiful
Are the black and tan short coat daschunds the most vicious of daschunds, cause I got bitten twice by 2 different black and tan short coat daschunds on different occasions.
It has nothing to do with color or type. I had a black and tan mini daschund that lived to be 18 and was the best and most loving dog ever! I've seen several daschunds of different colors that were mean.
Not a great breed for the elderly! They are constantly on the go and love to chew things and get into trouble, you said it yourself, they are by nature hunting dogs. They need lots of exercise, I know I have one and he is very challenging and into lots of trouble if bored sitting around the house he will destroy it!
Please correct the shameful & embarrassing (for you) mistakes in this video!! First, there's a spelling error at 0.09 in the introduction - it's Dachshund, not Dashund...!! Then the name *DACHSHUND* is mispronounced throughout the entire video adding insult to injury. Please pronounce the name correctly & not as you are doing "Dashund"!! Our German friends' have Dachshunds (as I do too) & their breed name is pronounced with a slight x sound on the chs thereby making it "Dachs" or maybe "Dax" for the first syllable followed by "hund" or as a German-speaking person would say "hunntt" for the second. Such a classic & easily avoided error!! As a rule I would have thought if you're going to make a video specific to these wonderful little dogs it is far better to get these *very basic* facts correct? These gorgeous little dogs have big personalities and so much love for their humans. They are wonderful pets who enjoy their walks & trips out to paddle, swim or just run through fields & woods!! They also love other *Dachshunds* enjoying their company far more noticeably than other breeds of dog.
