Off lead dog play and control.
This 4.5 minute video shows a variety of clips taken yesterday as we took a leisurely stroll on Harlyn Bay, Cornwall.
It shows all three dogs off lead and enjoying life to the fullest.
Ruby is highly gregarious with other dogs and will look to join in at every opportunity, so there is a greater focus on control, good manners with dogs and people and of course the recall.
The whistle with Ruby has proven invaluable and I’ve always said that a whistle on beaches is a must if the dog ranges further afield.

Although using some treats in this video, we’re not treating all of the time, though I felt that returning to treats again for a time will help refine things even further as Ruby is now 8 months if I’ve done my sums right.
As I say near the end, we want to try and hit a sweet spot so that the dog is enjoying the walk, interacting freely, yet coming away promptly when asked to do so. In a subtle way, I am controlling the walk - not the dogs, but we can go about this in a calm, positive manner.
