Ohhhhhh!! I forgot about that show. Buy I sometimes end up talking to psyche myself up by saying "C'mon Rigadaon". It's strange how these old theme tunes randomly pop into your head, isn't it.
I am Iraqi and I spent the beginning of my childhood in the United Kingdom and I am proud that my memory still retains all these wonderful memories and that I am lucky with this memory. ❤️
this was my comfort show for my whole childhood, I’m barely 18 but my mum raised me on the cartoons she watched. heathcliff and dogtanian are the ones that have always stuck with me :)
80s and early 90s kid's TV was so good. The broom cupboard, knightmare, all those Spanish cartoons (Willy Fogg, Dogtagnan, City of Gold), Teddy Ruxpin, Duck tales, Pinocchio, the Moomins...jeez I could go on. But it is so much better than my kids watch today.
My mum had kept all the vhs tapes from when I was a nipper and I played one for my 7yr old boy. He told me it was rubbish and walked out of the room.its a shame really as they are brought up around crap nowadays. Dogtanion was one of many awesome cartoons back in the day.
He sounds a right twat- I suppose video game violence is more his bag and violence then the order of the day as a teenager -my word you've a lot to come in future!
do you know how many times those kids would have made it home if they had just left the bloody unicorn behind! that stupid barbarian cost those kids months away from their famillies!
They were big in the U.K too. I remember 'the lady' was always poisoning people in this. Dogtainian spent half the time in bandages, it could be more extreme than cartoons now. An animated Game of Thrones, set in France.
Oh my god a rush of nostalgia just hit me, that feeling of being happy to get home home from school and settling down to my precious cartoons. Thanks for the blast from the past!
Ya know this was cartoon made by Spain and with the help of a Japanese studio, it was one of the, if not the first Anime-English cartoons before they became popular after pokemon. Nowadays everything is anime styled, talk about total domination.
I love this song very much. It means a great deal to me, and my childhood memories. I consider myself lucky that I had such a wonderful childhood filled with such happiness. We had a quartet come and play this at my school when I was small - we were so excited!
It’s 04:28am and i’m getting ready to go to the gym. I lost my dad to cancer in 2014. This song reminds me of being a kid and thinking about him. Loved this cartoon. The 80’s rocked ❤
1. The Mysterious Cities of Gold 2. Dogtanian 3. Ulysses 31 4. Willy Fogg 5. Battle of The Planets If you don’t agree with this list in this order you’re not an 80s kid.
@@MissBlennerhassett876 Exactly what I was thinking, Transformers is easily my favorite 80s cartoon. I'm also wondering where's Danger Mouse, Thundercats, Real Ghostbusters, Gummi Bears and Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers.
I loved this as a kid best theme song ever love it my dad who is in his 60s has the dvd box set of this I'm going to get it off him I'd gladly watch this again and I'm 36 ha ha
This seemed to go on for ever when I was a kid. When it started I was about 7 and when it ended I had left home got married, settled down and had kids!!
I nearly shed a tear too so we can be sad together, lol, it was CLASSIC, no wonder! I remember that apple bit too, I still have it all on video what I had taped for me as a child because I loved it so much!
@@threethrushes Nah, never rally watched that imo, maybe because of my age at the time, more into cartoons. He-man, thundercats. I remember "stig of the dump" tho.
One thing that I seem to remember about this cartoon is Dogtanian getting angry and his nose glowing red! Did that actually ever happen or did I just make that up?
i used to live for this program lol im so pleased to have found every episode for sale on dvd sets lol gonna make my kids watch them, also found loads of other fantastic 80`s etc classics on dvd sets and singles. Fraggle rock, superted, loads and loads. Getting them all and gonna make sure i keep the legends living by making my kids grow up watching them all just like i did. About time they sampled real entertainment, ben 10 take a back seat man, let the real legends through!. Thanks for upload!
Listening to that its 1985, Andy Crane or Philip Scofields in the Broom Cupboard, its after 4pm on a Winters evening, I'm back home from school, hands washed, out of my school uniform and into my 'home clothes' with something to eat and drink and watch the next episode of Dogtanian with my Mum and elder Sister...bliss.

i love to watch this because it was epic in the 80's and it holds so many emotions but at the same time i feel so sad that the 6 year old me is dead and i can never go back to that time.
As an adult, I just can't understand how they didn't call this thing "Dogtanian and the three Musketerriers". I mean they're not even hounds either, they're clearly a springer spaniel, a German shepherd and a St Bernard.
I shed fine tears and liked it, it's not sadness but nostalgia, besides it's a very nice song (I mean the portuguese version is, I can't get tired of listening to it!)
Love this so much!!!!! What year did this come out?? Omg we had such wholesome cartoons ..... no wonder so many kids today are fucked up with no empathy they are brain-fried on cocaine of mobile phones
Kimbob aLoola It was released in 1981. My dad watched it as a kid and bought the box set for me and my brother to watch. I'm 16 now and still love this!
BuenCloPaso That's so cute baby girl! ::)) your Dad sounds like a good Dad!! These are so fun haha xx Not sure when I watched them... Zimbabwe & South Africa telly usually buy programmes after they've aired internationally xxxx Thanks for the story :)
This was a totally awesome cartoon. The intro was brilliant. I think the best cartons were made in the 80's. Cities of Gold, Willy Fogg and Thundercats to name but a few. Kid's these days have never had it so good. The broom cupboard rocked!!
I think Dogtanian is fantastic! I remember it when it was on CBBC (Im 27 now) and I managed to get the DVDs of both series 1 and series 2 only about 1300 minutes of cartoonage to watch !! :-D
lionkinglyons You'd think they'd realise that children are not dumb idiots and need more entertaining shows with engaging plots or storylines than just dumb so called "comedy" shows that have constant jokes about bodily functions
***** My Little Pony : Friendship is Magic, definitely. Just by the way, you can get the whole set of all Dogtanian episodes and the second series + the movie on Amazon as a DVD. For less than a fewteen bucks..
I don't like the sound of this show. But I still want to help those that like it. I don't know what's on youtube. But episodes can be found at kisscartoon.me/Cartoon/Dogtanian-and-the-Three-Muskehounds. Please consider what's on youtube and what others can and can't access.
0:48, 'kids are pretty corny l' - am I the only one who heard that!? I remember back in the day and just before it came on..Andy Crane played this segment back for this very reason
