The passage of time in our lives is marked by birthdays, anniversaries, milestones, and more. Each of these special occasions help us to remember and celebrate something and someone special and unique. But how can we do this better?
Did you know that in the Bible that the word "remember" is mentioned over 250 times? It's important that whether we enjoy celebrating these milestones or not, that we take account of what God is doing and make time to stop and reflect on it. Today Jackie and Bobby encourage us to lean in to the celebration of these milestones and to do a better job of "remembering."

How fun this came out on our 8th wedding anniversary! This morning at breakfast I prayed a prayer of thanksgiving with my children for our family beginning 8 years ago. As I prayed I looked at the four little faces at the table and began to cry thinking about God's blessing to me! Many of those blessing I never thought would happen! God is so good! Thank you for this video! Such a blessing!

50th wedding anniversary coming up soon…great timing. Always a struggle as I don’t like lots of attention or large group celebrations. We rarely “celebrate” those special days and it’s always kinda bittersweet. Please keep us (me) in prayer..

Anniversaries are easier to celebrate. Birthdays…birthdays, the older I get the more I want to actually celebrate others on my birthday. I’m so blessed to to have family and friends. Never knew how much blessed until now. I’ve been isolated because I tested positive for Covid. Everyday, I have friends asking me how I am and what can they can do for me. One dear friend even offered to make me chicken noodle soup and drop it off. That’s a gift. As far as celebrating, I rather do a getaway or do lunch with friends than have them give me a gift. Honestly, I don’t need another thing to wear or one more thing for the house. Gratitude, just being grateful for my health, husband, family and friends.

@@Marshall_1990 I have no doubt brother, I'm just encouraging you to work with the Lord to keep preparing you for marriage whether you're in a relationship or not. There is a great prayer/poem called "Be Satisfied with Me", by Saint Anthony of Padua that I would highly recommend keeping close to your heart at all times with this. The Lord led me to it years ago when I was in a tumultuous relationship, and it shed a lot of light as to the problems she and I were having. In Christ, Andrew

Yes! I had friend of mine saying something along "out of all time, out of all life, you were born X day and X thing happened" so it's great to remember and be grateful to that.

My spouse loves parties and I don't so we have struggled with marking anniversaries. I think we have agreed to just attend Mass on that day.

IDK, I gave up on all of it. My husband has NEVER done anything special for any occasion, so I just pretend like I don't care and forget about it. Nothing romantic, not even once. Nothing for anything. I bought my own ring, and his. We do nothing for anniversaries, birthdays, valentines day, he even wanted me to go buy my own Christmas gift and he'd just reimburse me. I used to go all out for every occasion, including Easter and even St. Patrick's Day, lol, but it's never been reciprocated. So, a couple years ago I just gave up. I came to figure that that's just not the kind of relationship we have, whether I like it or not.

On the therapy point, I would strongly encourage biblical counseling or simply counseling from another strong brother or sister in the faith. Too much therapy, including Christian, is based on the wisdom of men, even when sprinkled with christianese, which too often doesn't get to the root where the lies we are living out in our beliefs exist. I learned the the hard way not to send out wedding anniversary cards and congratulations, you just don't know what's going on behind close doors ? ( I learned this from my own marriage )

My husband is Jehovah witness. He was not when we got married. They do not believe in birthday celebrations at all . Growing up he also never really celebrated birthdays. He feels it's been made to be money makers. The only thing he does celebrate is Wedding anniversaries. I will get him to watch this video. But as a Jehovah witness student they are being taught that birthday celebrations are pagan
