Honestly, I'm far from being married but these things help me prepare myself and everyone else around me that I get to share thoughts with. Now let me congratulate you both on being so loving of each other years down marriage. I pray that I also have the same looks you have for each other down the years too. Thank you for the confidence and conviction boost, especially since my last two serious courtships ended pretty poorly (the only two I've had since the Lord got me back 15 years ago) because I couldn't teach my partners, with the Lord's help, to weather and embrace the storms as they came instead of wanting to run and/or retreat. I've been saying for years that I really need to see my potential wife at her worst multiple times and for multiple different reasons, as well as her seeing that out of me, in order to know without question if we both have the character fruits and tools needed with the Lord and each other to love each other through everything (a choice with the Lord leading our hearts instead of our emotions leading us). Don't leave, don't do things on purpose to hurt the other, don't cheat. Pretty straight forward, love/lust have very little to do with finding a stable spouse that you can live your life with. Grass is always greener.

Paul tells us this 1 Corinthians 7:1. I don’t know if this means we are better off not to Mary but having someone to love your whole life is a wonderful thing. The marriage is like going to the gym and not knowing what to eat or how to go about exercise or what things to use to make your self have a healthier Body. It’s about learning Perseverance. In marriage you have to work out the hard things out. the difficult things must be forgiven for the fun things to get to the actual joy. So definitely don’t get married unless you’re willing to go through all the hard things that come with marriage. My wife and I have been married almost 25 years. 23 of those years have been with it disabled son that we have to take care of. It’s a great joy but it also changed the course of what we thought marriage would be. I take care of our son at night my wife takes care of our son in the daytime. He’s been quadriplegic since his birth he’s unable to take care of himself in anyway. We rarely get times together we usually have only a few minutes each day to communicate. There’s very little personal physical intimacy. We didn’t know that was going to be a part of our marriage I think many men could not handle this. It’s about putting complete total faith in God and learning self control in many situations. We do have beautiful moments now and then. We do have three children. Our family will somehow be a great gift for our Lord someday. For me I have to offer up all the difficulties to the Lords cross that somehow he can use this difficult things to help other people get to heaven. It is a sacrifice that you should be prepared for before you get married. marriage isn’t between a man and a woman is between God and perhaps several children. You have to be willing to sacrifice and That can be difficult some days! but I believe at the end of our lives the reward of this difficult sacrificial life of marriage will prove to be a beautiful eternal experience in some kind of way that I don’t fully understand at this time. So if you’re preparing to get married prepare for it to be a roller coaster ride beyond anything you’ve ever experienced. If you don’t think you can handle that do not get married become a nun or a priest. But watching your children grow and seeing them discover new things has joy on an emotional side impossible without being married and having children. Marriage is a beautiful thing if you’re willing to pick up your cross and carry it every day and focus on Jesus every moment otherwise we will stumble. Marriage is a great gift that will make your spirit strong if you’re willing to work pass the hard spots. To forgive each other daily and your children. Offering up your marriage to God every day. And God will make it beautiful. In Jesus I trust. 🙏✝️

I like the imagery of the two wines at the wedding at Cana, but I'm also reminded of this passage from Revelation 2: “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: ‘The words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands. 2 “‘I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear evil men but have tested those who call themselves apostles but are not, and found them to be false; 3 I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name’s sake, and you have not grown weary. 4 But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. 5 Remember then from what you have fallen, repent and do the works you did at first. So yeah, don't just write off that "love you had at first" instinct. Either perspective can be helpful at the right time.

I get it. After you have been married for one, We get used Two What my wife wants . There's been hard times, and there's been good times. I made a huge mistake. I left the church, and I came back to the Catholic Church ..all because I did not know what I believed. Even though I had all the classes .. I been back p weeks been to confession .going to mass 9 weeks taking Holy Communion.

Maybe the best key to marriages communication communication communication communication forgiveness forgiveness forgiveness and sacrifice for each other. Try to say I love you often and really mean it. And give your marriage to Jesus ask him to carry you and to guide you. Pray for wisdom often and for discernment. Try to say your rosary often. Pray for each other. Treat each other as you want to be treated. If you argue make up quickly and forgive. Get to reconciliation and to the holy Eucharist often. And repeat that often. Let Jesus lead you.

Basically everyone needs therapy these days, before, during, and after marriage. If that's not you... talk to your therapist about denial 😁 We need a totally new approach to marriage prep. A total realism. And a seriously long and intense post-wedding follow-up focused not on pie-in-the-sky pieties but the real process of healing and rebuilding lives.

I’m not Catholic but I’m a Christian. Hard to stay in the love of marriage when you have a cheating spouse. Sometimes marriages just don’t last.

Too general. This video could be 20 seconds of “marriage is hard and let Jesus help you in it.” Not a bad message at all. Just a long video that didn’t bring much more value than that.

I respect that they try to prepare or Acknowledge the challenge of marriage. However they are so dang negative about it and don't focus enough on the good or how to improve that! Glad I had better examples of marriage in my life then what these two are saying. At least they reference taking your problems to the Lord.

I think having a failed attempt at marriage is one thing that can prepare you for marriage.

I really don't think it's conducive (or very Christian, for that matter) to laugh at someone else's inexperience. We live in a society that makes it all too easy for men to abandon their responsibilities and seek fulfilment in non-marital relationships. And we have an issue of incredible arrogance among Catholic married couples who just assume that any Catholic unmarried couples who desire marriage are all naive, stupid, "googly-eyed" and don't know anything about how to love in a Godly way. I really hope that groom who was laughed at stuck around and actually got married.
