Doing #Dallas Documentary - With Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Ken Kercheval, Charlene Tilton, Steve Kanaly, Susan Howard, David Jacobs, Audrey Landers, Michael Preece, Arthur Lewis, Morgan Brittany, Sheree J. Wilson.
jdtractor man agree man , it’s legendary to me as I grown up watching it as my stepfather Galego used to watch it , I only used to see the intro back in the late 70’s 80’s but it’s enough to be legendary in my mind it’s really amazing intro
i miss that kind of "themes/Intro's" today. Today they safe money (music/copyrights) and time... I would say... maybe Im wrong... you will keep a t-show better/longer in memory when they have good intro (incl. memorable title melody)
Being born in 1979 I was a child of the 80s and a chunk of that childhood is occupied by memories of every Friday night that theme playing through our house. Whenever I hear it to this day it always brings a smile to my face as I remember good times and a very happy childhood.
Agreed with you on that Richard my Brother, I was born one year later than you 1980. I had a happy childhood myself. and Dallas was fun. Dynasty was juicy as well.
Nice comments, fully agree with all of them. One thing, seem to remember it being on a Thursday evening - but I was born in 74' so my memory could well be wrong!
Never In a million years did I ever think I’d get hooked on a prime time soap. When Soapnet began to show ‘Dallas’ in 2003, my ex girlfriend was watching this. Because we only had one tv at the time, I had no choice but to watch what she was watching. The first episode I saw was about Julie Grey(Tina Louise) falling off the roof of her apartment building. I was curious to see what would happen next, so naturally I got hooked like most people & tuned in everyday
Yeah, here’s your 1980s childhood on a platter. Lol. My family watched this every Friday on CBS at 9 PM Central Time. On channel 9 in Oklahoma City. I remember it like it was yesterday. Lol. Still my favorite TV show of all time.
this is my favorite T.V show of all times. I have watched the entire series at least 20 times. My kids tease me about it. when J.R died, I cried like a baby.
The best TV series ever! No TV series has ever captivated the world for a period of time like Dallas! I even loved the reboot and hated to see it end so soon.
There have NEVER been and probably never will be, another television series and then show, like DALLAS. It was a Worldwide household institution for 13 years! We all loved to hate J. R. We will miss you all for ever! GOD BLESS you all.
My family moved to Dallas in 1980. I was 9 and this show made it cool to my friends that i was moving there and that helped my sadness of leaving them. Im watching the series now and it's so fun to see Dallas the way I remember it and see how different it looks now.
I SURE CAN'T BELIEVE that it's been FORTY YEARS since J.R. got shot!!! I remember it like it was YESTERDAY!!!!! Also seems like only YESTERDAY since "Dallas" first premiered on CBS in January 1978!!!!
I was a kid in Texas when it started, recall watching on Friday nights with my grandmother. Nobody messes with ole J.R. lol. Great series, I still watch them from time to time.
Should had a crossover with The Incredible Hulk where David Banner was drifting thru Dallas and got a job as a ranch hand at Southfork. He hulks out and McGee comes to J.R’s office asking him if he knows anything about the Hulk.Bobby befriends David and helps him leave before McGee catches up to him.
I've heard my family tell many stories about how Friday nights were occupied with The Dukes of Hazzard, Dallas, and Falcon Crest, and Thursday nights there was Knots Landing. I only wish I could've been back then. Television was good in those days.
Correct. ☺ I remember that The Man From Atlantis. As a teenage girl it was the first time I'd laid eyes on the gorgeous Patrick Duffy. The show was cancelled and then I saw Patrick on Dallas. Of course, the rest is HISTORY. ☺
Wow, I most likely live n breath Dallas up until this day for sure. Still watching bits n pieces of it on RU-vid, hence I found this video in my recommended section. Awesome to watch, thx😊
Bringing back memories of the best ever TV had to offer. Super cult status. I have all 14 seasons on DVD, but this is not the same thrill as when the show was live on TV, especially when a new season open-end. You waited with bated breath for the new version of the theme - no internet leaks prior to broadcast at that time ;))
What's so amazing is that the Oneoff/Spinoff Dallas was created "After" Knots Landing. After the success of The Waltons & Eight Is Enough they wrote Knots Landing but it wasn't broadcasted on TV at first. Dallas becomes a Hit and they decide to bring Knots Landing to TV and have Gary Ewing live there. The same thing happened in the 1960's. Agnes Nixon wrote for Guiding Light and Another World, then created All My Children. It was rejected by NBC then she left and created One Life To Live in 1968 and then afterwards All My Children in 1970 and the rest is history.
@@rosemarylopez8493 You are quite welcome. I only started watching the early episodes of Dallas during the Who Shot JR era. Also back in the day on Friday it was like watching Ed Sullivan on Sunday, you didn't interrupt anyone. What a great way to end a week.
@@rosemarylopez8493Also Bill Bell co created Another World in 1964 with Irna Phillips, then left to do Y & R in 1973 then B & B in 1987. In some way or another all of the four surviving soaps Days Of Our Lives, General Hospital B & B & Y & R, owe their success to Irna Phillips. Also even if you didn't work with Irna Phillips you may have done of one her shows starting out.
I Loved❤️ DALLAS!! I watched it from the very Beginning to the very End!! It was the Greatest Night Time Soap Opera EVER!! THANK YOU for Making the Best TV Show, EVER!!😀🤩
@@Eri-Wi- ,I love your profile pic. I was hooked on Dallas from Day one and everyone played their parts well. In fact in my opinion only but the 1970s & 1980s had the best Television Shows in TV History. If,only we had a Time Machine🙋🏾♀️
I still love it. My mission in life is to get signed photographs of all the main cast. Thankfully I do have most of the core cast but a few still elude me like Barbara Bel Geddes.
2nd show ever on tv IMO....always watched every friday night...knots landing was my fav but loved them both!!! bobby and pam were my favs....miss the show!!
In the very beginning, the Director Mike Preece hired me in 1983 From 30 other extras It was so much fun and paid very well! I was in many scenes for 3 years Kissing scenes were the best. Patrick Duffy was so nice and Linda Gray
Dallas.... Aah Dallas.... Will always and are always the best ❤️ serie. They don't do this kind of series anymore. It's number one forever and that great theme song❤️
Where did the time go? As a kid I remember waiting for this show to come on weekly, as well as Knots Landing, Dynasty and Falcon Crest. You could look outside and the streets would be clean, and I mean not a soul in sight. Everybody made it their business to watch tbese shows! Lol!
March Madness Corona Madness 2020🤦🏾♀️ I wished that we had a Time Machine to zoomed me out of the 21st Century. And return me back to my Childhood Years of the 1970s. And my Teenager Lady Years of the 1980s my two favorite Fondest Decades🙋🏾♀️
I remember using the same line that Pam told Bobby when she found out she was pregnant, except I used my own maiden name and married name of course. We had a boy!
I clipped a photo from TV Guide in the early 1980s of Pam's gypsy shag cut and brought it along to my stylist for years. I loved that cut and still do--altnough I can't wear my hair long anymore.
I always thought of Victoria Principal being the star of the show. I always thought of the conflicts between her and Larry Hagman and their characters. When Pam Ewing left, the show went downhill. I think Patrick tried to take over Pam's shoes but it didn't fan out. The formula was gone. Just remember that the pilot "Digger's Daughter," was focused on Pam and the antagonist was JR. They were the ones who made the show.
Oh God no - that's what she thought too but she was far surpassed by Larry and Linda. Have never understood the fuss over Victoria to be honest. Think she thought she was the star - no no no. Larry Linda and Barbara carried it.
If they had a different producer and director, the reboot would have been able to continue, JR was still a part of the script and stories even after Larry Hagman passed away
Yes I think that was time when she ran away from the Southfork Ranch and stole Uncle JR Automobile. She was kidnapped later on and forced into singing at a Country Bar for money.
She was married to the singer who hit #1 with "Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places." They had a baby named Cherish (and i named a doll that lol). She's a singer too!
is so glad, I clicked; finally, I know what my favourite "Dallas" director, Michael Preece, looks like. Oh...scripter, Arthur Bernard Lewis, too! @ 11.30: stand-in...not mannequin?(oddly, has grey sideburns.)
I loved the character april stevens. She was warm, beautiful and charismatic. She was streetwise too. I just don't think she was the right woman to be married to bobby.
I don't fear my trust is in the Lord I have never in my life carry a weapon to hurt anybody never in my life have I carried away I can't just like the next person but I choose not to him that lives by his four shall die by the sword in Jesus name
Why can't they bring this show back on the reruns it was loved by everyone I would loved to see this again and the TV series knots landing felon crest was good too they beat all these horrible shows they have today every thing has to have a lot of sex and no imagination the writers of today are not that good please bring back these old shows what about putting it on the me channel love it God bless
Haha, yeah, the reason might be that Europe is as big as the United States - and they look the way its countries like they were the "states". 😊 By the way, where do you come from? I'm from Hungary. ☺
The script of this goes downward very rapidly at the end. 'Dynasty' didn't come along to replace 'Dallas'... it was a copycat show that was a rival, but which ended first. And despite its quiet goodbye, 'Dallas' is still, relatively speaking, the most successful television show of all time. Arguably also the best.
Morgan Brittany omg that girl is stunning exactly how I love women just like that red head fair skin gorgeous eyes geee she looks amazingly at this documentary I love women past they 40s some women specifically those red haired look amazing middle age ❤️🌹😘
You do realise her death turned out to be part of Pam’s season long dream sequence? So she didn’t get killed off and in fact showed up in the hospital after Pam’s accident.
