I'm going for a flathead trip tonight hopefully we can put a few in the boat I have 33 blue gill to feed to flatheads my favorite catfish by far love the blues but flatheads are a different animal
I love peace and quiet myself , as you can see from the places on the river we go Appreciate it Dave , and glad you got your trailer out Let’s get after em
Dave. I just wanted to say, you seem to be doing better with your bad back after quiting your job and doing nothing but fishing. Keep up the fishing and hope you never get a bad back from it. Enjoy life, keep making videos. You keep me busy while dialysing.
Watching your old video on bank fishing and love it I'm at Pittsburgh and got 3 rivers to fish and thanks to you getting some cats now thank you keep up good work
A couple days ago, I put a small shellcracker, alive, out on an 8/0 hook. Several times, the rod tip shook. No hard bends. When I packed it in (12 hours later), the bait was still alive. No takers.
@@chuckstith838 Exactly, Chuck. I often use small (palm sized) sunfish for live bait. And just as often, they are still alive when I decide to pack it in. I always remove the hook and release them. Ya never know, they might survive to be caught again.
I just subscribed Catfish Dave! I enjoy watching your videos with envy! I’d gladly invite you up to Kansas to fish for some monster blue cats in Milford Reservoir. Folks pull 50 plus pounders out of there on a regular basis, with the record being 82.05 pounds! Keep creating great content kind sir!
Went to the Savannah Bridge in TN yesterday with just some worms and 2 ultralights and 1 cat rod, ended up catching some bluegill, hooked em up and threw my cat rod out and lost a big one, but ended up accidently catching A channel, and a blue on my ultralight with worms on 8lb test while fishing for bait, but I did get one nice flathead on a pumpkin seed, all around good day. But flatheads definitely take some time, I've went 30 minutes and caught one and theres been days where I sat for 6 to 7 hours before I got one but it was well worth the wait, nothing like the fight they put on though, awesome vid as always Dave.
Enjoy your channel, I really like that you release the fish, up here in Michigan not many eatable catfish, had a lot on lake Barkley I enjoyed fishing for catfish, unfortunately there is a lot of the Asian carp now in the lake.
Glad to see that you fished the wateree river that is a bad landing and the landing off of # 1 is bad on the weekend during the week it's not hardly any up their got to be careful rocks every were up the river got know that place but it's a great place to fish
Great effort for the flathead: you need to come up with a "Catfish Dave Fish Tag" an tag all the Cats you catch that way if someone else catches the same fish they know that Catfish Dave also had this fish hook and landed That would be a honor !!!
Dave come out at night then the full moon is gone I sit out on a little fishing Creek caught a 35 lb Flathead and less than 5-10 minutes also called rockfish right behind him
Dave I fish in Indiana between Indiana and Illinois last 50 miles before the Ohio river. I catch allot of Blues and Flatheads jug fishing. I prefer pole fishing and have been looking for better floats. In this video I see your floats on the boat and was wondering if you would tell me what floats you use and where you get them. Thank you in advance. -Thead
My dream is to retire to Tennessee and fish my dream.Ohio fishing is ok but Tennessee has so many places.I’ve fished Cordell Hall with a relative that lives there once and he currently has hit Watts bar and the misses caught her first monster blue 29.8 pounds which you all probably think that’s average.Love Tennessee take care CD
I know where you were Dave in SC. There’s a spot south of there on that river that has some quality catfish. Shoot me a message by responding to this next time you are here and I can put you in some good spots for quality fish
Yeh, it's hard to find a place to fish that isn't swarmed by masses of people and/or fished out. Have several invitations to go fishing, but have to decline...Fishing for them is an extension of their clamorous lifestyle. For me, it's an escape from silly shit. Again, the most latter is hard to come by.
