I was on this 3 day Christmas cruise. I think we would have gotten the characters in there holiday outfits more on the first day. Also the gingerbread display didn’t last 24 hours before it started falling apart at the top when we went past it getting of the boat
I think the change in climate (heat when they’re not used to it) causes upset tummies in some kids. Happened to my child on a trip to WDW in a restaurant. Right out of the blue 🤷🏼♀️
I really appreciate your perspectives on this. I did get the impression of things feeling rushed on this cruise. (It probably didn't help that boarding was delayed.) I also think I wouldn't book the very first cruise of a new season (like Very Merry). Things didn't really seem fully in place yet. I mean I appreciate how hard they have to scramble to suddenly go Christmas (that's a ton of work!), but I'd prefer to go when everything's already set up.
3 day cruise at the very start of a themed cruise during hurricane season didn't really seem worth it at all tbh I can't remember if one of these was rescheduled from being cancelled or if they purposefully chose to do one after another to check out the different theming (as opposed to a longer all in one cruise) but that just seemed too hectic!
@@accountforwastingtime They wanted to get one more cruise in before Jenn was too pregnant to cruise. Plus they won't be able to cruise again until the baby is at least 6 months old. That's why Tim said it's the last time seeing Castaway until at least September of next year. I'm guessing they are gonna want to do a longer Merrytime cruise next year.

Love the great videos, my wife and I just got back from a cruise on the Disney Fantasy and Castaway Cay was my favourite part of the cruise.. if you can’t parasail there why not try doing it on Bay Lake at The Contemporary? That would be awesome…
Chef Awesome and Oliver Awesome went parasailing on our trip for Halloween-On-The-High-Seas and yes, GoPros are a... go. Question about the 5k, did you see any bikes on the trail? Just wondering if they allow bikes and runners on the trail at the same time or if they separate the window between the two. We rented bikes on our trip but I don't recall seeing an pedestrian traffic.
@@galienarae397 The excursion can be booked through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once your activity window opens up (pay attention to the emails they send because it's kind of a lot, lol). Cost was roughly $150/person. Our oldest son, 13, was also able to participate. Kids ages 8 and up with a minimum of 90lbs. are allowed to fly but need an adult to go with them. Combined weight cannot exceed 375 lbs. No guests are allowed to sit on the boat to observe only - all guests must have a confirmed parasailing reservation. The boys took the GoPro of their experience on day 5 of our cruise week.
Definitely seems like even if you go on the same boat there's always something new to experience even if it's a little thing. Another fun trip in the books😊. That water bike thingie looked like fun. Jen, I’m curious what Disney requires to board the ship while pregnant? Do you have to provide any medical documents to show how far along you are? I know they have a strict requirement about 24 weeks, but I’m curious how they track that

Hello, I am taking my 2 Grandsons 12 & 7 on their & our 1st Disney Cruise in Feb on the Dream. We will be 1 day at the Bahamas & 1 day at Cast A Way CAY. I watch allot of your videos & this is the 1st time I've seen you be able to run the 5k & try to do paragliding. I was wondering if u have to sign up for the 5K or do you just do it? Where do you ask before you do the 5K if they have the medals? And lastly where do you pick the medals up after you run the 5K? I thought this would be cute to do with them plus a cute souvineer for them. Also you mentioned that the parasailing isn't through the Disney Cruise. So where do we sign up for that? And how much is it? Also if it's cancelled due to weather like yours was do they refund your money? Thank you for your time I know you guys are very busy.
Yes we have booked 2 excursions on Castaway Cay get canceled but it never rained one was the glass bottom boat and I may be wrong but one was to a sandbar which I know depends on the water height but I can’t remember if the glass bottom boat was out to the sandbar. I got to do jet ski’s on Castaway Cay a couple of years ago that was super fun! The guides were Bahamian and he caught a conch and eat it in front of us.
When my husband and I went on Halloween on the High Seas on the Wish we thought about doing the 5K but it was really hot so we passed , it’s our goal for our next time.
Someone else may have said this already, but I feel like the meet and greets at the end of this day might have been in holiday outfits if the sail away party had happened on the first day per usual. It seems like they could have still been in captain/sailing clothes from the sail away party this day, maybe. I can understand that disappointment though for sure! But I can also understand the logic of this call (and bless the folks who tried to still make everything happen for this cruise, despite the weird circumstances). Thank you for sharing this trip of holiday magic!
Ummm Tim when he said they r doing Roy side of dinner tonight and he said he did the Disney side the other day a they r both Disney but I know he ment Walt side. Great job on the 5k
LOL last time we were at castaway cay our son also barfed in the water, he’d swallowed some sea water while snorkeling for the first time. People made a big clear path for our exit 😂
