Looks like it’s a tic above RCL’s Labadee, clearly better than Carnival’s private island (won’t even mention NCL’s island) but not even in the same league as RCL’s Perfect Day at Coco Cay. Honestly I expected more from Disney.
I love Castaway Cay, but I'm always surprised and disappointed that they don't have a pool, seems odd to me as all the other cruise lines have a pool on their islands.
@@Eatsleepcruise1 at the time we cruised the Wonder ship was only 1 yr old, looking back at our trip since it’s been 23 yrs ago from the year 2000 it was an amazing experience! We did a 4 day land at Disney World and a 3 day cruise. It wasn’t cheap around 6k back in 2000.
A fantastic island to visit, our kids love it and we are going again this April. Would love to get a Cabana but it's nearly impossible as they a quickly booked up by Platinum Castaway Members
We have a fishing excursion then a few hours in between the glass bottom boat. Is their a restaurant near that area? Sounds like we will stay in that area
hello, this was very helpful video. about to go on our first Disney Cruise this year. took a lot of notes on this. thank you once again. got a video on the Fantasy ship?
How Beautiful is Castaway Cay. This is definitely going to be on my bucket list hopefully one day we will get to experience this wonderful Island and the cruise 😊😊
Yes, it's NOT worth it! It was AWFUL! Cast should warn people that the flies swarm EVERYWHERE! Never could eat the food, because if you put anything down they covered everything. The post office was CLOSED for our whole day, so don't count on using it. As I couldn't eat I went back to the ship to eat in peace. The place isn't maintained very well, it looked old and run down. The painted buoys hadn't been refreshed and were rusted. Trams were in bad shape too. So much for a high "disney" standard. Not worth the price.
So interesting to hear the different experiences. We went in 2019 and it was beautiful, great weather and I don't recall an issue with bugs. Our kids had a blast and were doing another cruise with Disney in April - looking forward to Castaway even more this time now that we experienced it.
My wife, sons, and I went summer of 2016. We didn't find insects to be an issue..... However, I think it should be noted that flies, etc are as likely to be at any and all the islands, being tropical. 😉 Also, given that there's generally an ocean breeze blowing, that tends to limit flying insects. Everything was well maintained when WE were there, and all the recent videos I've seen, everything was well maintained, and non of the content creators mentioned lack of maintenance (And they would have.)..... Sounds a lot like you don't enjoy much.... But I wasn't there when you were. You must one of very few people who don't love Castaway Cay.
@@blondegoddess65 Flies were everywhere at the adult beach, and the food area looked like it hadn't been worked on in years. Other than the rusted and faded things at the first beach they seemed decent, but not in what should be old style Disney condition. New corporate disney style almost anything is acceptable unless it could lead to a law suite.
