Agreed! I would not take that log out, or replace it with a real log for the plecos to feed on.

Great addition! Hopefully mine will get that big some day. It's only about 7" long currently. Also that montage at the end was extra crispy!

Your new dojo needs friends! Get at least 2 more, they're extremely social fish, I've got 2 myself and they're always feeling each other with their barbels and dancing together up and down the glass.

Dojos will always be one of my absolute favorites in the hobby. Incredible personalities with those guys. It made me a little sad though to see how much he jumped when you put your hand in the bucket - I used to socialize mine with hand feeding and they became some of the friendliest fish I ever had! It's so awesome to see one that size with such a great home!

I never even had to socialize mine, I was just moving around decorations one day about a week or two after getting them and they swam right up to my hand and started sucking on every bit of my hand they could find, after that day they shoot to the surface whenever I get close, they'll swim up into my hand and just chill if I cup it

That log is to nice to take out how about suspending it under some of the bigger rocks in the tank that way they'll be sheltered but you can see them. 🤗💚💚💚

I love dojos, I use to catch big ones like this and bigger ones in taro patches here on Kauai. Love this 800 gallon aquarium, awesome job Aquarium Co-Op!

Cory: Ohio fish rescue has some giant clown loaches which I guess if you contact them they might send them to you for free, just pay shipping.

I have a dojo loach that’s golden or yellow that reached 12 inches as well. I put video to compare size since google says they only reach 12 inches in the wild. I have a 70 gallon now but the dojo made me upgrade since he didn’t fit in my first 10 gallon tank. He was fine at first 2-3 inches long but grew to his current size within a year. Didn’t know much looking into it and found out they grow 6 inches in captivity which I thought was ridiculous, they are however capable to reach 12 inches in the wild. Hope yours keeps growing so they can update google

I love this tank! I just found "weather loach" on a random Google search and I cannot believe how huge this guy is! Also, I would love an extended view of this tank. I know it has evolved over the past year, but it is still mesmerizing.

Loach is loving that tank! He will gain a little weight now and fill out. I had a pair of Gold Loaches. One 9 in the other 10. The 9 in died from a tumor. Got the 10 inch a baby Gold which has rapidly reached 6 in. As always, amazing cinematics Jimmy! Thanks!

I have 3 dojo loaches and they are hands down my favorite fish I own. Mine are only 3, I was not aware they get that big! Mine have been the same size for a while. Love them!

Dojo/weather loaches are a lot of fun. I recently had to give mine away to a rescue as she was a 10" female, she kept outgrowing my tanks. Anyway I'm sure you will enjoy your loach, they actually seem to have personalities and really do react to the weather

Love the loach as i once had one that was 10 inches and was an eating machine , loved snails , bloodworm and anything he could get into his mouth ! They are super active and yours will love bombing around your huge tank !

Tiger barbs can make them less skittish Some of us use this types of fish to make others more confident to get into the open area (they see them and they think or feel that its safe out there in the open)

I bought a large clown loach 2 weeks ago to go with the 5 2” to 3.5” that I already have. While the original 5 are constantly out and about, the new guy/gal (not sure) hides most of the time. Great video, I always enjoy watching.

I have one of these guys and he has so much personality When I look in the tank,I almost always see his. nose poking above a rock and if not then he is swimming around He almost never hides Great fish

Dude, I have a Dojo Loach in my 29 gallon goldfish tank. I got it because I'm always looking for other interesting fish for a cold water tank. Initially, I didn't think I'd like it, but over time I love it. It was about 4 inches when I got it, and it's grown out to 6 inches. I had no idea they could grow to a foot long. That's insane! That thing is a beast!!

I love this tank. I plan on getting a few gold Dojos. I already have a clown loach in one of my tanks and he's hilarious. He schools with all the other fish and loves to scavenge around looking for food. I always find him upside down or on his head trying to get something to eat and has no sense of privacy Bubbles. 🤣 he's in everyone's face and they love it. My platies and tetras chase him and play tag. Sweetest fish ever.

You could always use an aquarium safe adhesive to glue several big stones together in two piles, one underneath each side of the log, to raise it up a bit. Then you'd still have the mystery factor of searching for your favorite fish, but they can't sequester themselves away quite so well. The log's "caves" are shallower, more out in the open.

I'm so bummed.. I woke up to find my dojo on the floor next to our 30 gallon tank. I put him back in hope he could recover but he was gone. My wife cried, that's how much he meant to us. Super social guy that would sit in my hands ... he grew to about 8 inches. Gutted that he's now gone.

Good luck finding a new solution... maybe move the feeder further back and attach a long ramp for the food to slide down?
