Next the leader reveals what is behind the two doors that were opened on their board. If a dog is found, then the 'search' stops. If no dog was found, the first player also has to reveal what is behind the two doors. If no dogs were found at all, you are a little wiser and start the following round.
That is a hard question. It definitely works, but you miss a lot of gameplay with only two players. Bluffing is only limited and since you only have to focus on the other player, it is much more difficult to mislead the other. I think with two players there are other, better games.
We tried playing it but a few questions came up. #1 What if all doors end up being opened by a player? does that mean we start the search? and who goes first because that person will for sure reveal a dog. #2 If i have two X revealed at door #3 and #4, and if the nominated door is #1 and #2, and i have my dog at #1, then i will reveal a dog and an X, will that earn me a penalty or a victory point? I don't mind creating house rules but i just want to understand how the game works first, Thanks!
Hi there, let me try to answer your questions #1: In the "deciding on doors to search"-phase, you nominate one door to open at a time. If all doors get nominated to be opened, the player with the leader marker starts revealing first. The leader will show their dog, and the round stops. No other player will reveal their doors. So no player will nominate the last door; they will become leader by nominating the last door and have to reveal a dog for sure. Beter take one of the other actions. #2: It will give you a penalty. Only if your dog was not found after the round ends, you get a victory point. The round ends when a dog has been revealed or when everyone has revealed the nominated doors and no dog was found. Yes, unless you decide to close them all (and open new ones + 1) or initiate a search. But as I said before, I think part of the game is lost with two players.
