I only recently got to smell the YSL fragrance (after already buying The One), and overall I definitely seeing the versatility in YSL. But it doesn't make my nose react in the same way as The One. My nose melts with D&G, not so much with the YSL. Very much enjoy your content!
Great job Melissa. LA NUIT DE 'L'HOMME during my fragrance journey has proven to be at the top. We can go niche and some of them are amazing too...but when you compare dollars to enjoyment and compliments...LA NUIT DE L'HOMME is an amazing 10/10...truly a masterclass fragrance for me...I'd even go 12/10!

For someone like myself who is into fragrences, the YSL is definitely the more interesting of the two. That being said, I think The One EDP is a much "safer" fragrence for most people. For a lot of people, especially men, simple is more appealing. I think they both could be used as signature scents year round for any occasion. Personally, I don't get why people say The One EDP has bad performance, I can still smell it on my skin after 12 hours. Same with clothes. Today I sprayed some on 2 hours before a shower and scrubbed my arm really well with a bar of exfoliating soap and after getting out of the shower it was still faintly there. I have the type of skin that gets really terrible performance from most fragrences, too. I bought The One EDP for my father's birthday this year. He is the type that just needs an everyday fragrence he doesn't have to think about, and that won't offend many people.
I love the Tobacco note in the edt of the One but the cardamom and powdery base of La Nuit is raunchy ;). Yes La Nuit does work well with heat. I used to sweat in La Nuit and it gets much better like this.
the one is really nice but La nuit has some seductive power in it which the one lacks, la nuit is overall more interesting smell than the one, the one smells synthetic dried fruits to my nose which works but still La nuit by a mile
both have been reported to having longevity issues, but the reformulation on YSL made it worse then The one edp. the one lasts like 6-7 hours on my skin personally
@@mrbigglesworth35ify yeah idk why people are talking about performance so much - not _every single_ fragrance out there is intended to be a nuke!! There are tools for every job and a 1-2ft projecting date night fragrance will make your date WANT to get and STAY closer to you!! That being said, whenever I use DG The One I still smell it as a skin scent for the entire day. Not sure about projection after 3-5 hours but what type of date lasts longer than that anyways lmao
I have both. Jazz club is offensive, tobacco, masculine, sweeter. One is better smell, light, feminine, perfect balance. Both lasting is same but jazz club projection is much better.
@ Nithin John Mathews I own both, and I love to layer them. 2 sprays of each and I'm good to go. They are similar, but definitely different enough to warrant owning both IMHO...
Question about niche fragrances for u. Just got a sample of Layton and I really like it. I have worn it a few times and received compliments on 2 occasions. I recently tried rehab and side effect by initio and really enjoyed both of them. I have not tried them out in a crowd so I dont know the reactions I will get. Plan on getting a sample of both real soon. I am a 25 year old and find that these 3 are "sexier" fragrances so I would wear them on dates or going to a bar/club. I dont wear fragrances for compliments but it's always a bonus and feels great. Which do you think will get the most positive reactions and get more "wow you smell absolutely amazing" reactions. I feel bad for people buying La Nuit. It’s been garbage since 2014. Thought everyone agreed but now RU-vidrs are trying to push it again. please stop the crap is nothing like the original. It doesn’t even last 2 hours
I don't smell much of a difference between the 2 . I honestly think owning both would be redundant. I think la nuit d'lhomme is smoother but neither one is my thing. Very powdery.
