Dolch FMJ Might Be Getting Removed From Hunt... 

Dolch FMJ was stupid from the beginning, glad they consider removing it.

yeah the addition of dolch special ammo kinda perplexed me when i noticed it (didnt read update-notes). I mean Crytek obviously knows this gun is a problem or its regular ammo wouldnt be categorized as special ammo so why add special ammo types? That basically puts it back in a category with regular weapons just at the top of the tier lists.

If I had that loadout I would still get my ass whooped.

Take out Dolch FMJ and replace it with fire ammo. Fire ammo on everything

Some ammo types are just way too op and it usually has more to do with the ammo type than the gun.

Sometimes it does feel like it's the strong special ammo that wins the game, not skills or luck. Hunt could use some small adjustments.

Although I enjoy using it I believe the centennial shouldn't have bleed ammo. It's too good.

Why remove it... maybe raise the price of the bullets if anything. I don't even play dolch but I don't see the point of removing the FMJ from it.

I will always hate and hope slugs get removed or nerfed some. It gets annoying trying to push when a team is sitting completely still never playing the game and dying to slugs over and over again

i totally agree with removing fmj for the dolch its gets to much for barely any downside from an ammo resupply point of view it doesnt matter cause its both special ammo and it doesnt loose enough muzzle velocity either remove it or make it 300ms or slower in my opintion there shouldnt be special ammo for the special ammo (except bow and xbow, thats fine)

When I made a thread on the subreddit speculating about Dolch special ammo (which was unannounced at the time) I predicted they'd give it dumdums and poison; two ammo types with substantial downside that act more as sidegrades. I even made a note in that thread saying FMJ would never happen because it'd be stupidly overpowered. Needless to say, I was flabbergasted when they announced Dolch FMJ a few weeks later. Sure enough, it was stupidly overpowered. I won't miss it when it's gone.

I want to remove lens from nitro, cause slugs look more intimidating compared to weak nitro

From the beginning I've questioned giving custom ammo for Dolch. Because as a player from literal 15 FPS gameplay times on Hunt Showdown til today, THERE'S A REASON WHY IT IS NEVER GIVEN ANY CUSTOM AMMO IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Heard the intro and already felt bad for the poor souls who played Rachta who wore cancer kits into the Bayou that day...FMJ on Dolch was like returning to OP Dolch as a custom ammo, sure it has more recoil than the dark era of peak Dolch but a Dolch P. fixes that hiccup quite alot. If they want custom ammo on Dolch add Poison and Fire; for such a meta weapon adding "3 stars" ammo will "force" players to disengage the meta. I'm sure many would just use regular Dolch but that is fine; as present day Dolch has had its penetration considerably nerfed and its balanced. Honestly, while cleaning up the game of bad additions, I would nomiate LeMat Marksman or trade it for a Deadeye instead but those are just peanuts ( expression to mean: minimal details almost irrelevant) Currently, the custom ammo issue is because ammo doesn't pool anymore; back when ammo pooled and the old ammo box restock numbers you had to have same customs on your kit. That meant pistols and 2 slots needed as many custom ammos as possible. Nowadays the custom ammo can be deleted for some guns since the reworks to ammo pools and boxes and we can go back to "weapon identity" era. Although some ammos were illogical when they were absent for example: originally Springfield Marksman (Springfield family) had no high velocity; now HV makes Springfield relevant at all 6 stars- am I explain myself well enough? Some ammos were indeed sorely missing from some guns or gun trees/family, so I don't think going back to early days of 2020-21 custom ammo would be good either. I think its mostly rifles though, shotguns and pistols (except Dolch) custom ammo additions are very nice in my opinion. End TedTalk lol

Never actually realize the true extent of Dolch FMJ's prowess until i saw rachta and other high mmr matches I usually play at 4 star (often 3) and most player around this mmr plays very passively (including me sometimes), rarely were they able to take advantage of sound cues to wall bang properly and applying pressure And even in intense gunfight, headshot is less of an occurence and people tend to use a high velocity ammo or gun to achieve it rather than FMJ

Hunt looks so easy everytime I watch RachtaZ but I quickly learn better when I play myself

They should nerf it to compact ammo level and reduce the price tbh

dolch shouldnt have special ammo at all imo. if you can't kill with standard dolch you need to find a different game

Yeah I don't really care about Dolch FMJ or any ammo type in the game, If your skilled enough you won't complain about game mechanics existing. Maybe I am just jaded cause I watched destiny's PvP get ruined slowly over the years by people complaining about basic features in it and the Devs listening to them. I don't even go into hunts with anything but a melee tool and a quad derringer cause using anything else just feels too easy and does not give me a thrill (plus its funny to take peoples kits instead of burning them, got some funny conversions out of those encounters) Special ammo is a part of the game and complaining about it till its removed only makes the game worse and will make the meta that the top players follow even more strict then it already is. I would actually like it more if every weapon had access to all ammo types cause then maybe the "meta" (quotes cause you can win with anything if you can hit your shots) would be actually flexible and on top of that the funny shenanigans you could get up too would make using weapon's I have not willingly touched in 600 hours worth bringing into the bayou again. Note: Won't be replying to any comments really, learned my lesson a long time about how hard headed and destructive towards the community as a whole people can be when they think something will straight up "fix" a games meta So here is my statement for people who want to leave a comment, My view point will not change no matter what you say or do cause I have seen this many times and had to cut quite a few people off who think they can argue against it. If you want to stop getting killed by good players constantly (Cheaters do not count and hurt the community more then anything else) you should look into learning game sense and about proper aiming technique (posture, attitude, exercise/stretches to avoid injury, Diets, ect.) and start doing 30 minutes of an aim trainer every day for a bit. No one is incapable of getting good at any type of game, it just takes work and time for most of us. Acting like the reason you suck is cause of a mechanic is just stunting your growth as a player and a true demonstration of poor sportsmanship that will drive other players away. I believe in you, I know you can do better and if you keep at it no one will be able to stand in your way except the best of the best, good luck out there friend.

I would consider putting more time into this game again if they dialed back "special ammo: showdown" The gunplay does not feel anything like it used to pre-special ammo and its mostly not good in my opinion. Most complaints I see from an average player towards this game is, "slugs, bleed ammo, fmj, 1 tapped by high velocity" Almost like most complaints boil down to special ammo

I don't mind the Dolch having an FMJ LIKE ammo type, but make it a different type entirely with bigger drawbacks, like only having the penetration but inverting the effective range bonus to a penalty to specialize it as a hard close range weapon?

Dolch is high damage, high accuracy, high reload speed, fucking high fire spped, high capacity... needs a rework. Its a toxic.

I'm glad they're taking it. I wish they'd take spitzer too. I've gotten headshot -and landed- too many headshots through freaking roof metal with that damn thing. It's too powerful. Spitzer is the same. It makes those with good aim that much better at distance, plus the added pen capabilities.

Spammy weapons and snipers are hunts biggest issue. Its on of the only games on the market that has a slower pace with weapons. Old fashioned lever action and bolt action rifles aren’t exactly common in games and the game gets ruined by essentially machine guns and sniper rifles. There’s no counter play for snipers and dolches are just too strong

As a 3*/4* to be honest, i'm always fine with whatever they do to those guns, simply because i can't afford them >.< dolch is my "cursed" pick, my friends and i know if i have it in my hand, i'll die within 10 seconds of a game and nothing has ever changed that. And picking a 750 (was it ?) hunt dollars for a gun always seems so bad for lower level players. And i also particularly hate on weapons with such fire rate, i'm one to think hunt having guns like winfields or pax is better than having dolch/avto/fanning pistols and the like. If tomorrow they removed avto/dolch/bornheim i wouldn't be mad or even see the difference.

I can't find a compelling reason to bring dolch over officer or new army other than style. Both officer and new army have less recoil and about the same ammo count with the added benefit of them being compact ammo so you get 8 bullets instead of 3. It has worse recoil, is more expensive, and has less ammo overall compared to new army or officer.

At the very end, I felt like Rattlesnake Jake who got blinded by the bullet and mumbled "One bullet..." Though sadly I am no legend and I also got no hat, so I can't tip it to you

I don't know how the hunt community consistently has the worst opinion. It is NOT an equip and profit weapon. It gives you a little extra headshot range and you can shoot through some stuff. It still is a 2 or 3 or 4 hit kill, its still the most expensive pistol in the game. None of those things are going to absolutely decide a fight for you. I die way more to shotguns and long ammo and general game bs than I do to a dolch, and Im usually a 5 star player. People like you all complaining die to a good player using a dolch and you assume the dolch is the only reason you died. Its not. That good player would have killed you just the same no matter what weapon he was using. Hes just a better player, using admittedly a better weapon, but it should be, its the most expensive. It's not a problem, it supposed to be the best pistol. Stop whining.

Still don't understand what brainlord thought giving the arguably best pistol in the game FMJ. The dumdum is also really annoying on such a fast firing weapon with a large capacity but at least it can't pen.

It was stupid and boring to give every weapon every ammo type in the first place. They just lazy and can't come up with actual content for the game like new maps and bosses and actual good fixed traits and not stupid OP event traits. They just gave every weapon every ammo and over time so they can have something to announce when they arbitrary do it to another gun. At some point they ran out of guns so they picked Dolch in their infinite wisdom.

fmj dolch can stay in the game imo. It's strong but its ok. Its ok to have strong weapons. If people suck at the game its a different story. If you get crushed by a streamer or six star with dolch fmj, long ammo, or katana doesnt matter. They are still going to be better than you. You take the L and go next and hope to play 4/5 star mmr :D

I think the only logical solution for them would be to remove the "regular" Dolch ammo, keep the new ones and make it Special Ammo only. Which it already basically was.
