Don't want to take up your time! But funny story!! So I was at Walmart walking around looking at all the stuff to put in my bob don't have a lot of money but when I can I pick up little here and there!! I'm also building a boarder box so I was getting little items To trade with. So I passed the the stuff For woman. Tampons and pads so I was reading the pack to check on the way it absorbs for bleeding though this could help also for packing wounds a compress larger cuts. So I picked up some stuff and at the checkout unloading my buggy the woman behind me she said it nice to see a guy that would pick up that for his wife without missing a beat told her nope I'm single there for me. She left the line and moved to another line and the cashier was looking at me funny also. So I asked her if that was the only heavyweight pads that Walmart carried?? Trying to answer !! I told here that was fine I'll start with those. Lol

You mentioned not being able to find pepper spray at those stores; My wife worked in the office at an apartment complex in a not-so-nice neighborhood. Official rule was that they could not have weapons in the office, but she always kept a can of wasp and hornet spray at her desk. That will work in that capacity, with a 20-feet (give or take) spray range! The DG brand is only a few dollars.

that's awesome, watched this video this morning & was inspired. went to the reject shop - Aussie equal to dollar stores. picked up a few cheap items to throw into the car bag I'm doing up. my daughter gave me her school bag, bought her a good quality High Sierra 50ltr pack last year & she never used it, just carted her laptop around. so score for Dad.

This is a very inspiring video. Here in Ontario,Canada. Our dollar stores and Wal-Mart's don't have half the stuff you guys have I the US. But none the less I Have made it work. As I constantly scoure thrift stores and any kind of dollar store. Maybe not the best quality, buts it's better than nothing. It's taken a just over a yr to collect things. But I did what I cud do on a small income well on a sick leave. I watch a lot of ppl like urself to learn and upgrade when I can as well as newer equipment. So w that said...keep up the good work. God Bless.

The Dollar Tree near me has Sterno cans. Can't beat those if you need fire quickly. Other things from a dollar store that can be useful would be extra socks, nylon stockings, emery board, nail clippers, tweezers, sunblock, paper clips, extra batteries, salt, ziplock bags, push pins, books, pliers, screwdrivers, wire. They also have baby food and that shelf stable milk that doesn't require refrigeration. Something else to consider if you have a newborn or very young children.

The thing I like about my bug-out kit is they have many of the basics you need when camping. The main difference with camping is you will have a larger tent and sleeping bags, air mattresses, and a cooler and bags full of food and access to safe clean water. The fire starters, hatchet, knives, medical kit, cordage, flashlight... can be used. A good chunk of my kit is stuff I already had or things less than $2. I try to keep to a small backpack and 15 pounds max.

I was building a survival pack for a friend of mine, but had no money to do it, and knew she didn't need incredible gear, but obviously didn't want to give her crap stuff. The dollar tree was actually pretty good for most of the stuff I got.

Dollar stores are a great place to stock up on food. Up here in Canada, we have a chain of stores called Dollarama. They have a pretty good selection of canned and dry goods at really good prices. Half the price of the grocery stores. Also good for toiletries, candles, small kitchen stuff and lighters/matches. Time for me to hit my rack. As you were!

I had a bad of that trail mix. I had it in my bag for 3 years. I just kept forgetting to replace it. About 2 weeks ago We were refreshing our bags (we do every 3 months) and I thought for sure i would have to replace it. Well I did but I opened it up and it was FINE. I ate it. the chocolate chips were turning white a little bit no putrid oils or nothing. So I know that stuff will last at least 3 years unopened. I like that tarp you got. It's thinner and looks lighter than the heavy duty ones I carry. I just don't NEED heavy duty for a emergency short term situation. I'll hit them up this weekend. Thanks brother.

Stainless steel pet food bowls at dollar tree is where it's at. Cotton balls and hand sanitizer to start a fire too, baby oil, wax, Vaseline, carmex, or chapstick also works. Dollar tree also has chafing fuel with a wick for cooking. Shower curtain liners are thick at dollar tree to use for shelter. That wound be a great kit to keep in the car...a get home bag... i would add a deck of cards for morale.

Like the idea of adding waist 'n chest straps. Can also beef up shoulder straps w/ more sewn-on padding. Maybe Sippy can do a sewing vid on that? Found out the hard way, (bears), no scented soap! Purell's better. I know it's not a dollar store item, but I urge folks to ditch scented baby wipes, soaps, etc, and spring for dr. bronner's pure castille unscented..use for washing dishes, shampoo, laundry, etc. Thx for the vid Sarge. May I also suggest one on preventing 2 big hazards when buggin out? Dehydration, and upset tummies from stress. I carry chewable pepto tabs & immodium. Many folks are unprepared for how their bods will react & it can be deadly. Thx again.

Where I live, there are 3 Dollar Trees nearby. They each tend to carry different things at times besides the regular stuff. I have found small pocket knives at times, the steel water bottles, and other things. In their party supply section, you can sometimes find small cans of generic sterno. I can spend hours in the store looking at things and finding ways of making things from the supplies you can get. My favorite game to play with myself is, what can I get for $20.00 to make a 3 day kit.

I would have added a box of zip lock bags so you can keep everything organised, waterproof and visible in the bag. Also some playing cards or a book to allow you to think about something other than survival for a bit, they can keep your spirits up in a longer emergency and keep kids occupied. Good kit though.

Nice job with the Dollar tree & Dollar General BOB. Vitamins nice extra touch. Also an item to have earplugs.... Also good for children's BOB. Keeps them from hearing things unpleasant and protects their ear from bugs crawling in their ears when camping as some kids are autistic and don't like bugs or germs and so on. Just a tip. Better to safe than sorry. Good job of thinking of babies, others. Simply kind and great job on the bag! 😁

Dude, I love video's like this. These give me so many ideas on to improve on and to not worry about what cheapness some of the same shit is from Wal*mart and or Target. I actually found a multi purpose tool at Dollar Tree, they are Seasonal. You can find a lot of stuff seasonal that is just too cool to pass up on, so I grab 3 at a time for what ever it is. Like a water proof bag for your valuables, electronic, paper, things that shouldn't get wet and I tested it and it works. Great idea and I will make a B.O.B. or two for my friends who just can't seem to get an idea on SHTF and that it WILL HTF. I would like myself a video on any ARMY SURPLUS Stores. I made a couple of those bags and handed them out to other family members so I guess I'll have to make a trip and make another one when I get home. Great ideas for those that want to make a bag and don't know where to start. keep em' coming brother!

The dollar store sell Ziploc type bags, you should consider a box of those, and you can keep your important things like your toilet paper dry. It will also hold water, and help organize your pack.

That was fun to watch and informative I saw the one on the baby bob I thought that was very smart especially for young couples with kids you can't cram all the baby stuff in with your stuff. Run into some bab people "excuse me while I dig through this and get what I need " NOT happening. Blessings

Wow...just found your channel. You have great and useful info my friend. Forewarned is forearmed...Unfortunately the way this country is heading..I am afraid that most people are gonna be lost...You are doing a good thing brother...keep it up! Most folk these days just don't care about their neighbors or anyone else ...just about themselves. Sad but true. Anyways...best wishes to you and your family. I will keep watching your channel....Semper Fi...!

I love the metal bowls from DT. All of my kits have one with a sink strainer added in. Also, in the toy aisle at DT you can usually find puzzles that are in a little metal tin. Could use the box for cotton ball/petroleum fire starters...it's a little larger than an altoids tin. I have Boba Fett and Spider-Man :-) Same in the baby aisle - little minnie mouse q-tip tin which is perfect for fishing hooks/weights/etc. I bought some little glasses cases that i put my hygiene stuff in one, PPE...earplugs/dust mask, and a fishing kit with. Plastic table cloths are useful as ground tarp/wind break/poncho to go with the plastic paint tarps you can find at DT and the real tarp from DG. Also both stores usually have solar yard lights....for light or to take the rechargeable battery pack out of. Honestly I have so much stuff from the dollar stores mixed in with our kits. Love your videos!

What do you use the sink strainer for? Bit big for water filtration?
