i would have left the clock face in it and put batteries in it. if the clock still worked while it was a table it would be really cool!

You could use marble contact paper on the clock surface under the glass and spray paint the hair pin legs with copper or gold to make it so much more urban outfitters-esque x

Nella Alexandra yea the dollar store in Canada is not a dollar store. Things are like 1.50 - I think up to probably 5-6. Depending on what it is. Most of the good stuff are 3.50.

The table would have looked cool with the clock face but without it it still has a Tumblr aesthetic. The to do list is such a good idea but I think it would have been cuter if the holder was painted white and the cork had a fun paper design on it or so.

Love both ideas! Curious to know how well they've both held up since the video though.. Could you maybe do Dollar Store DIY updates after a few months go by so we can see how practical the projects turned out to be? Rotary cutter makes cutting down a roll of any paper much easier/faster if you don't have a fine tooth saw blade on an electric saw (circular, table, Dremel).

I know it doesn't fit in to the dollar store thing but actually using the toilet paper holders as legs for a side table or nightstand with a wood or metal top is genius! Especially because hairpin legs are pretty expensive ;P

It's Dollarama, a Canadian chain store. There's a ton of stuff you can get there, some stuff will actually be 2 or 3 dollars but it'd be things like mop buckets and glass trays etc.

if you're in the US, you might be able to find that stuff in the 99 cents only store instead of the dollar store. From what I've seen the 99 cents only stores are huge and have sooo much more in them

Agh! This video was MADE for me! I am redoing my daughters room and for 2 weeks I have been scouring the Home Depot store trying to come up with some creative way to make a side table but couldn't find anything I liked. I NEVER thought of a clock!! Going to cover up the numbers and fill the inside of the clock with oversized gems and other goodies.This is brilliant, thank you...and my daughter thanks you lol 😊

Ok guys I just had an idea that ties in with the dollar theme. For the table instead of using plain white paper, use the kitchen cabinet liner in white marble! Damn I can just picture it showing through the glass!

I like both of these.....but I'm going to vote for the table. mainly because I love hair pin legs and I never thought to use a toilet paper holder. The rollout list would be perfect if it's themed....e.g. replace the brown paper with birthday wrapping paper....all the kids can sign it at a birthday party.

You should definitely pic up a bunch more of those toilet paper holder "hair pin legs" and make other tables with slightly higher end/more sturdy tops, like maybe a wood platter or something thrifted, which you can actually drill into so you can attach them properly.

OutsiderLoves Jacob haha, my opinion is reversed. I can't get past the flimsy ripper. I like that hack, but it's not going to stay on like that. Kelsey's just seems more sustainable.
