I've never seen anyone make a rounded spine like that. It always looked too fussy to even try. But, you made it look easy! I'll have to give it a try. The whole journal is shaping up so beautifully! The crocheting on the cover added such a wonderful touch to it! I'm looking forward to your next video!
I just realized this is a DT challenge journal. 😊 It's looking great! Food packaging and gift cards are fantastic for creating covers. My personal favorite things to use. I missed the challenge but you've inspired me to do something similar. Turquoise is one of my favorite colors so I'm absolutely loving this journal. 🥰 TY

Oh Sandi! I’m sorry to hear you are struggling. Can you just exchange some things or switch it up a little? Or maybe just add a couple of items? The Dollar Tree is so random in its available supplies and limiting to 16 items truly is a challenge. PLUS, someone else’s always looks better right? It’s the magic of RU-vid, haha. Wow! Gorgeous cover❤ I’m working on my cover right now. I’ve had to adapt the challenge since I don’t have a DT nearby, I’m starting with DT items I already have and supplementing with other budget friendly supplies. Love your cover. Food boxes are one of my favorites for covers. I almost crocheted an edge on my last cover, but then I thought the yellow bakers twine I had would be too thick, but I love how it turned out on your card and will def do it next time.. ☺♥
Thank you Joan! Our DT has two sizes of baker’s twine, three small spools in a package together and then I found this large spool that was the right color. I think the thread on this larger spool is thicker. If I did it again, I would go for the smaller spools which I think might be a little thinner and would crochet easier. Thanks for watching!

I'm enjoying working on this challenge, and it truly is a challenge to not use some of the things that would really help--like fabric (when I have sooo much fabric that I could use if it were allowed.) I am making do with paper also. I'm enjoying your process videos and always learn something from you. I'm so glad I saw your first video about the challenge and decided to join in.
