Hello crafters, unfortunately Dollar Tree has restocked the crates but on a smaller size. The regular ink pads will fit but not the square sizes from Tim Holtz. If you are planning to make one tower I highly recommend you to take an ink pad with you to check on the size of the crate and make sure it fits in there. Happy crafting!
I ordered from your link and the Distress square pads didn't fit. Now I'm frustrated. But I do love your project. I am determined to find these crates somewhere. Thanks for sharing this amazing storage tower. It's exactly what I need!
Oh, Christy! I just found this out! I had ordered the crates from DT several months ago, but didn't have time until today to make the tower. I wondered why the circle bases were so much larger than yours. I just now tried to load my Tim Holtz inks...grrrrr!!! They didn't fit. I am so disappointed (and tired). But I have to share my unusable tower...lol.
BRILLIANT!!!! I cannot get over this. What a fabulous idea. As someone else already mentioned, there is thinking out of the box and then there is this!!! Everything from the clothes pins, to the signs turning into a lazy Susan. WOWZERS!!!!! My favourite part was when you used the paper punches as your weights... true sign of a crafter!!!! Your demo and instructions were also very very good. Thank you for sharing this and to your friend who came up with the idea.
Me either! But I too watched it all the way through the entire time thinking, "I need some place to store all of my glitter tubes and little round containers of mica powders!" As I was watching, I was figuring out how to modify it to include small drawers to fit on the clothespin shelves!
WOW!!! You are amazing! Women can figure things out and don't need to ask a man, and you proved that perfectly! What a great, and practical invention!!!
Phew! I'm glad my friend and I made this awesome storage tower when the proper sized boxes were available. Our towers came out really nice. Thank you so much for this great tutorial. You're a smart and creative lady!!!❤
What a brilliant idea this was. I’m so glad your friend shared her idea with you so you could recreate it for us. You did an amazing job. I can think outside of the box, but nothing like this. TFS!
@@FaithfulDesignsbyChristy hi I was wondering if your friend Anja has a channel? Could u tell me the name please? P.S. thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful idea and giving ur friend credit your so sweet💙
Wow you are an absolute genius!!! You must be a legend in the crafting industry!!! That is absolutely phenomenal! That blew my mind when I saw what it was made out of and then how it was made! 🤯 I LOVED how you measured once on a piece of paper and then just used it as a template to mark the little crates. How much quicker that is!!!!!🤯 Thank you for making and sharing this video and the ink pad storage!!!! 🥰
This is probably the BEST ever dollar tree hack I've ever seen in dollar tree products!!! You are AMAZING! I love love love this so much! Thank you thank you thank you!
This is ingenious! I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out where and what I have collected. THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing this! Another amazing creation!!👍
(Let me just say that I could sit and talk with you for hours... your voice reminds me of my son's former boss - she became a good friend of mine and now that we've moved away I don't get to see her as often as I'd like. It was an absolute pleasure to listen to you teach us this afternoon) Your friend is brilliant and I am so grateful that she shared this project with you. And you, my dear, have added to her brilliance with the sponges on the side of the tower and the bases to hold inks that aren't the same size as the distress inks. I thank you for the time it took you to create this video so you could share it with all of us. Please thank your friend as well. Love and hugs from the Southern California desert, MK 😁❤🤗🏜
This is a great idea for storage of inks and brushes and pads. I’m so glad your friend shared this with you and you shared it with us. Thank you to both of you very much. Vertical space is great use and you can see it so much easier. Can’t wait to make this.
Absolutely wonderful! We are all blessed to have so many creative people in our world! Thanks to you and your friend Anja for sharing! Many Blessings to all!!!🙏🏼💜🙏🏼💙🙏🏼🧡🙏🏼💛🙏🏼💚🙏🏼💖🙏🏼
This is amazing. I do have Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads, & I have them taking up space in my big ink storage unit I made. Now I will be able to make this & use it just for Distress Inks & have room for my other ink pads where they belong. THANK YOUR FRIEND FOR SHARING WITH YOU & FOR YOU TO SHARE THIS WITH US! :) I can't wait to get my made. I am headed to the $ Tree website to order my supplies.
This is GENIUS! I’m in the middle of putting everything together, right now, but had to take a break. BTW..I love your sweet tone of voice & accent. God Bless you!
Wow what an absolutely terrific tutorial & I love the fact that you found & used everything from Dollar Tree (my favorite store). And the velcro to hold the blending pads is brilliant. You could sell those towers - they are beautiful.
Yea, so now I have to go and buy a bunch of small wooden crates, some clamps, clothes pins and a boat load of distressed inks!! This was a marvelous idea!! So budget friendly!! So awesome and creative and ingenuitive and brilliant!! Just wow!!
I studied Industrial Design at IIT. This is a brilliant design and construction - especially the GENIUS turntable hack. great job. tfs! I subscribed, too!
I finally got my ten crates and I and everything else that I need and I can't wait show everyone on my channel this project. I will make sure to thank you for this wonderful idea.
I’m so glad you are making this project. Please make sure the crates are big enough for your ink pads because Dollar Tree is selling a smaller size now. Happy crafting 💚
Amazing idea! So bad we don't have dollar tree or the products you always show , here in Holland. But always amazing to watch a handy woman 👍. Love your Diy video's so much!!
all I can say is WOW . and for those of us that are in canada , I have seen almost all the supplies in our Dollar Rama . just in case you are watching this and going ahh I cant do this , YES you can . =)
I am so glad that your video appeared in my newsfeed. This is brilliant and your tutorial is so easy to follow. I can't wait to try this and look forward to looking at your other videos. Thank you so much!!! xxx
Outstanding idea and instructions. Thank you so much for this. I am going to the store this morning and grab what I need. You have made my month, if not year.
I love your dollar tree videos! I just can’t get enough Dollar Tree content. They are informative. I make dollar Tree videos too. It’s a pleasure to learn from other talented creators like you! I hope we can learn more from each other!
Hi Christine, thank you for your lovely comment. I just want to let you know that Dollar Tree is selling smaller crates now and the Ranger’s ink pads don’t fit in them. Blessings, Christy
Wow! Thanks for sharing this Christy. Thanks as well to Anja that came up with the idea. Love it! I've just subscribed to your channel. God bless. Love and hugs from Cape Town, South Africa. 🤗💖
NOTE: if you buy the crates at the store make sure they are the same size or at least 2 groups of 4 are the same because some are about 1/16" smaller and that will make them uneven, Have a great time crafting! Blessings to all! Christy
I'm so thankful for this DIY, I have been looking for something to store my ink pad for that doesn't cost a arm and a leg and you have found one and just so happens i have all the supplies except like 5 boxes that's all I need. Yay thank you so much for sharing this wonderful DiY!!!
I love this idea but unfortunately I can't find any of those crates at our dollar tree stores in my city. I live in Canada. I might have to see if I can find something else they have that might work.
@@sdidema none of my area Dollar Tree has the crates either, but I just learned yesterday you can go on line and order. not sure about Canada... but in US some items can be delivered to your local store, other items must be mail order... and you must order 4 of something at a time.
Hello there! This is my first visit to your site and I am thrilled to see this project! I keep thinking of many things to use this for...with small adjstments if needed. Thank you so much. You are very good at teaching! Excellent. Thank you so very much. 😁
I just found your channel and am enjoying your lovely voice and how you explain everything in an encouraging, organized way that makes you a great teacher!
Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I just completed my tower today. I used a turntable mechanism from a small spinning stationery holder that I bought for a couple of dollars at a thrift store. I posted a picture of my tower on Facebook and I direct everyone who asks to your video. Have a great day!! 😘
I went to lowes and picked up a lazy susan base to make the turn table and it came out just great. I also picked up a square wood piece that fit the turn table. I put felt on the bottom as well.
Christy, I now have all my material to make this & can't wait til it gets a little warmer outside so I can paint my crates. I can't paint in the house because I have severe asthma, & the smell of the paint in a closed area would not be good for me. But I will be prepping everything I can so that once I have the crates painted, I can just put it together. Thank you again.
This is by far the best inexpensive ink pad rack/lazy Susan I've seen! I'm headed to the dollar store shortly to get supplies. Thanks bunches for sharing. One thing that would be nice is if you'd put the measurements and template instructions in the description. It'd help a lot instead of having to rewind the video.
I did it! Finished mine yesterday. It was definitely a couple of days project, but worth it. I had to order my crates because my two dollar trees have been sold out for a while. But it just left me with two extra holders that are free standing! Thank you so much for the tutorial!!
