Growing up, we always opened our gifts on Christmas morning and then my mom made a huge breakfast. As we got older and started leaving the house and having our own families, my parents decided we would all gather on Christmas Eve to open gifts, which left Christmas morning free for us and our families. Now that I am married, my husband and I gather with my family on Christmas Eve, and then when we get home that night we watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Christmas morning we get up early, have coffee and a home-baked pastry (like cinnamon rolls) and then open our stockings, exchange our gifts, and enjoy watching our dog playing with his new toys.

Love the advent calendar bags, Marie! Such a great tradition! On Christmas Eve, we call my step-mother to wish her a Happy Birthday and then we all get to open one gift (it is always a new pair of pjs). Christmas day, we get up early and go out to breakfast. Then we come home and gather around the Christmas tree to open gifts, BUT, FIRST, we gather around the nativity set and sing Happy Birthday to Jesus, then open our gifts. Christmas afternoon, we have a nice lunch at home with a birthday cake and special gifts for our son. We sing Happy Birthday to him and he will open his gifts and eat cake! My mother-in-law's birthday is on Christmas too! We make sure to call her and sing Happy Birthday to her too! (Lots of birthdays during Christmas week in my family, my brother's and niece's birthdays are on Dec 22). HAPPY BIRTHDAY on Christmas day to you too, Marie!

Christmas eve box, New pj's, popcorn, hot cocoa mix, and a movie. Put pj's on make popcorn and hot cocoa put movie in and just spend the evening together. Great advent calendar, love the decorating you did on each bag.

After we got older, my parents started the tradition of having a Christmas eve buffet that was special to each of us and then we would sit around the tree and open all of our presents. Christmas day we had a huge breakfast that my Father would make and Christmas dinner was very non-traditional but decadent nonetheless!!! I loved your bags...they were all so adorable!!! Thank you for sharing such an incredible way to do an Advent calendar. :)

Christmas eve we open one present which always consists of new pjs...movie. ..and favorite candy or popcorn....and sit around and watch our new movies.....Christmas day for us is a pj's day all day ..I cook a nice dinner and the kiddos play with new toys ...Love the bags very inspiring and Happy early birthday ! ❤❤❤

The Christmas Eve traditions of my family have varied throughout my life: Pretty much all were about family, food, and fun. Over the past decade, I have spent Christmas Eve alone with my dog, even though the entire family gets together for a feast and fellowship on Christmas Day. What my dog and I do is lay on the couch and watch my all-time, any time of year favorite movie Christmas Vacation on repeat. I sip instant hot chocolate, and she chews on a Dingo Bone while Clark and Cousin Eddie lampoon a longtime family tradition I used to have, too, back when my maternal grandparents were still alive. We just never had the squirrel or the dog hacking up a bone from the trash, but I think many families have some form (or two) of a "Cousin Eddie." 🍽🎄🐿🗯🐕🎉

Going to make these bags for our grandson next year. Our Christmas tradition is to open our gifts Christmas morning. We have breakfast/brunch and then we drive over to drop off gifts to other family members. After visiting we go to see a movie and relax with a huge popcorn and soft drink. Of course we bring our souvenir cups and movie gift cards we got for Christmas! Thanks for all you do!

Oh my goodness the December 24 bag was simple and just perfect! So, in our family December 24 th is a time to get together with all our loved ones, play bingo , eat tamales and lots and lots of treats while we wait for midnight to strike and allow the little ones to open one gift a piece to satisfy that itch of wanting to rip open every single last present underneath the tree. Once the little ones go off to bed then mom and dad Santa pull out the great big Santa gift unwrapped of course and place it underneath the tree so when they wake up the next morning they realize Santa has come, the cookies have been eaten, the carrots for the reindeer's have been nibbled on and the Santa thank you for the treats note is besides the cookie plate so they know they're in for a special treat 😊 Christmas is a time for family and friends. Maybe on the 24th you can together purchase an ornament to display the following Christmas. This is one of our favorite traditions of the season. ⛄️🎄🎅

What I did with my kids on Christmas eve is sit around the tree drinking hot chocolate and singing Christmas carols, we would go look at the lights. my daughter does the new pajamas with my grandkids so they know that when they wake-up it's Christmas.

I thought these were so cute that I decided to make them for my girls this year even though they’re only 2 and 16 months. I wanted to start the tradition now. I have a farmhouse wooden tree with clips on it to hang them from. The girls loved it! Thanks so much for the idea! ❤️

I love watching you make all these advent bags. Yes, a calender only goes up to the 24th, but I'm loving this, how you've ended on christmas day, you are so crafty talented, love watching you. Have a HAPPY CHRITMAS. What I normally do on christmas day, the morning I spend with my 10 year old son, then in the afternoon we go round my mums+step dads for dinner, and other famliy members might pop round there, or we see them another day, kyle opens some presents in the morning with me, then round nannys, I LOVE christmas, it's all about family, friends, loved ones, and of course celebrating the birth of baby jesus, lots of love to you and your family xx

The Italian tradition is to have 7 kinds of Fish for Christmas Eve dinner and then probably go to some sort of religious service. Seven is a lot of kinds of fish and not everyone likes it. We usually just do one like cold cracked crab, salad and french bread.. But there are options little goldfish crackers for a snack, popcorn shrimp, spaghetti and clams, crab cakes, grilled tuna and cheese sandwiches and then a special sweet treat after dinner. You are very inspiring and I hope you and your daughter have a very Merry Christmas

On Christmas Eve my mom and dad always come over and we do our gift exchange with them and our kids and then we have dinner and my tradition with my husband and kids is that they get to open one gift (it’s always pajamas lol) and then my husband reads The night before Christmas and we put the kids to bed. We put the presents out while drinking egg nog and I always watch It’s a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve.

Yeah, when I made my advent calendar, I included day 25, too. Pom pom, snowflakes... LOVE that!!! =) That was neat how you used a card to cut the tape with. =) Before I met Franklin. (my husband)... Christmas Eve was the day that my family would come spend most of the day with us... (my Mom and Dad - until Dad died in 1985)... Christmas Eve was the day that the whole family was under one roof for several hours... I miss that. Christmas day, was usually spent at my Aunt's house .... After I met Franklin - and I moved in with him... (we lived a 2 and a 1/2 hour drive away from my family)... Christmas Eve was spent with my family, at my Sister's - and later at my Nephew's... And Christmas Day was spent with Franklin's family at his Mom's. But .... since 2009, (my Brother died on Dec. 23rd) (And Franklin and I had moved to a different province far away from both our family and friends) ... We've celebrated less and less... Our families still gathered together, and we Skyped .. for a couple of years.... but the last 2 or 3 years, just my two sisters, Mom, and I Skype.... and we usually Skype with Franklin's family too. One tradition I miss... is that on our way home from the Christmas Eve, Gathering, Franklin and I would take the "old road" (instead of the highway - which is a longer drive, but you see more houses and stuff)... to see the Christmas lights. .... I would kinda like to find a new tradition for Franklin and I ... but he's never really been "into" Christmas. I love each of your bags. I think my favourite of this video's set, was the snowmen one. ;) Merry Christmas to you too. =)

On Christmas Eve we have a dinner and open a couple of presents it used to just be one but we upped it a couple of years ago. This year I want to sleep out near the Christmas tree. On Christmas Day we wake up have a big breakfast open some presents, watch movies, have a late big lunch and continue to open presents through out the day.

Christmas Eve we go to my boyfriends moms and we celebrate Christmas there. Then we go to a family friends and eat, play games, drink some, and watch movies! We've done it for years and it's soo fun! We also go to a movie on Christmas every year too! Happy early birthday and merry Christmas! ❤️

On Christmas Eve I usually open one present and on Christmas if I wake up before my kids I'll take pictures of the Christmas tree with all the gifts under it. We open presents and I take pictures of them opening their gifts. Later we get dressed and I will help with dinner.

Christmas eve we pile into the back of the truck(we're in FL) and go to see all the lights while sipping hot cocoa. Then it's back to the house for chili and the opening of 1 gift (pjs for Christmas morn) tfs so many wonderful ideas!

we do our last minute shopping on Christmas eve day and we prepare the dinner which we have on Christmas eve. the whole family comes and we stay up late watching Christmas movies and the kids enjoy their gifts. on Christmas day we go see a movie or travel to see relatives. other than that it's a great day. .

The only Christmas tradition in our house, that's different than just opening gifts and things, is my 2 sons play a "Christmas prank". Last year they bought almost a mile of twine and they strung it all through the house and out the front door and all around our yard. The year before that I was really missing having a white Christmas. We don't usually have snow on Christmas in Virginia and I'm from Connecticut. They printed about 50 pictures of Betty White and hung them all over the house so I could have a White Christmas. There has been I think 4 years of pranks now. Can't wait to see what is coming this year!

I get to open one present that my mum and dad got me which is normally some REALLY cute P.J's so in the morning we can take cute photos in our new Christmas P.J's 🎄👌🏼The same goes with my sister ( we will normally have matching ) and my brother will have something different but still P.J's just not matching 😂❤️ xx The past few years we've been taking SUPER cute pictures xxx 😎

oh my these are so adorable. the peguin bag is so freakin cute 😆. i want to try making these for my son next year. our tradition is we always open gifts an eat dinner on christmas eve and we used to go to other family or friends house on Christmas day, but this yr is the first yr we will not doing that. i lost 4 family/friends this yr. so its going to be quiet and different . merry christmas to you and happy birthday :) 😘

The bags came out really cute - how has your daughter liked them so far?? My parents, sister and family and brother and family and I get together on Christmas Eve (brother goes to the in-laws on Christmas Day). We have Mexican food because we all love it (I order tamales), and we play games with the kids, and my bother's family open their gifts from us and we open theirs. It's always a lot of fun.

Christmas eve was always my favorite. my mom and dad are my very best friends and I've always cherished those special nights with them.

I love your ideas but day 21 would have looked sooooooo much better if you had glued to pom poms on with tacky glue because you can see the foam sticky tape underneath the small ones and it ruined the look of the snow falling

I love ur ideas with the bags. I'm going to do it for my kids next year but I have a question how would u do the gift if u have more then 3kids ? if u have some kids can play games but the others can't play some games what can u do?

+Daisy Days put a little gift for each of them and get the to take it in turns to open the bags and maybe wrap there present and pop there name on it

Yes! After each bag has been opened they go in a box that I will pack away with my Christmas decor

Christmas Eve why don't you read the Nativity Story. And no you don't do an advent bag on Christmas Day because it's Christmas not Advent. Advent is the time that you are preparing your heart to receive Jesus into your heart and life.
