Can I just say how much I respect you for being so real? I effing loathe youtubers who "deep clean" their "messy" home and you could run a white glove over their windowsill and not find dust. I want to see someone actually clean and organize their dysfunctional spaces because it motivates my depressed butt to get up and do the same for myself! Perfectionism isn't empowering for you or your viewers; authenticity is!
I use oil as they put stuff in shaving cream to blunt the blades so you have to buy more. I use oil scrubs so it exfoliates then the oil residue allows the blade to glide!
I’ve used men’s razors since i started shaving. My mom said “well if you insist on shaving you might as well have a good razor” haha. She’s a smart lady.
@@MittenPrepperVet I took it a step farther and invested in a safety razor. After a few years it has paid itself back multiple times over. I guess all the extra money must go into gendered marketing lmao.
@@Kiterpuss we recently invested in the rechargeable electric razors as well. My differently abled teen can use it to be more independent in the body care.
I love that you showed the whole process, including the search for the right bins, which a lot of content creators don't show. Finding the right containers is hard!
Those dollar tree plastic bins spray paint really well. I like mine all the same color. I'm a goof like that. I got some Rustoleum. I think it was hammered rose gold and took them outside with some old cardboard to keep the drive free of paint and with the heat, it was painted and dry in less than 20 minutes.
Jupiter the Argentine Tegu, I have not had that as an issue as if yet. It's been about a year. But I'm pretty easy on stuff. So maybe a double coat if you think family might be a little tough on them.
Lol my husband and I have been married for 17 years and I love getting out of the shower and seeing that my husband refilled the qtips all neat and packed into the jar standing. Its like waking up to flowers. It's the little things ladies lol I don't have the patience to try to stand all the qtips to refill neatly.
RU-vidLoser To me the little things matter more than big surprises. Like taking the kids on Saturday morning to let me sleep in, setting the pillows nice in the sofa - he couldn’t care less about the pillows, but he knows it makes me happy. I feel like if you appreciate the little things and say thank you, it sets the tone in the relationship and house.
RU-vid Loser I think there are plenty of things that men do without thinking it is a big deal and when a woman does it we feel like it is a little thing to show we care or are being appreciative. I appreciate the little things he does that I think are frustrating and he does it just to help even though its not any big deal. Or when I get up and take put the trash even though he usually does it and I know he had a busy day and forgot. It's not in place of other surprises but it is nice that he thinks of me and does something extra.
I completely agree about men's razors! My husband actually signed up for a Harry's subscription so we signed me up separately just long enough to get the super cheap starter kit and now we each have our own razor handle and we share the replacement blades, LOVE IT! I also wanted to say I love watching you because you are positive, sweet, but best of all REAL
Food for thought: I told my husband about the razor thing and how a lot of us prefer men's razors. He looks at me thoughtfully and was like, "oh. I like girls razors cuz they have moisture thingys around the blades"
I’m so proud of you for not saying Vlogmas. Also I’m so glad other people have random bags and boxes in their cabinets that they don’t know where they came from 😂
Dollar Shave Club! My daughter & I ordered 2 handles w/ the shave cream set & 2 packs of 4 blades for like $13ish... Then did 1 pack of blades every month for a year, we've since cancelled the subscription & still have a TON of blades left!
I use a glue gun, and the foam poster board at Dollar tree and create my own organizers for drawers. I also cut up water bottles, milk jugs and such then glue them together for holding extra make-up
"girl" razors suck! I always get men's razors too. Also if you haven't already binned it, use the bronzer as an eyeshadow I think that gold colour would look gorgeous on you
FYI..noticed one of your shadows was bella donna brand. If your makeup is mineral...it is inert and never gets old or bacteria. Just scrape a little off the top and you're good to go. I used to work at a place that sold that line.
I also switched to a safety razor and I find they last Soo much longer. It's a little bit of a learning curve on how to hold it correctly but I'd never go back
@@juliayork8715 I dont remeber the last time i had cuts while shaving :D but is far more sustainable, than the regular razor, we just have to get used to it :D
I've bee home sick in bed for 3 days.. OMG your videos helped soo much! I watch you anyway. But have been binge watching you instead of Netflix! I needed your realness , kookiness, and postivity. Thank you!
Christine, this was very helpful, because it is an area in which I also procrastinate and live with an abomination of chaos. Your simple tip of measuring and taking notes, and a shopping list is priceless, something obvious that I never thought about. I look forward to your next organizing video.
Love that you took us with you through decisions to keep, Todd, and shopping for the bins. Most people leave that out. I really admire your ability to toss. I always feel like I need to keep something I don’t use because it cost $7 or something. I always think maybe I’ll use it for Halloween, or what if I run out of the one I actually use and I need it. Of course that NEVER happens. Lol.
I use quart mason jars - q-tips, cotton balls, band aids and first aid ointment - also magazine racks for storing tall, skinny items. Also I store excess supplies out of the bathroom. I loved your mani/pedi storage idea.
I find these organization video’s so helpful and inspirational! My under the bathroom sink clutter has been contained in decorative shoeboxes with labeled on the outside. Such a time saver!
Great job! It took me DECADES to find an organization that worked for me. But once I found it - I have stayed organized for 5 years! Everything has a place and there is a place for everything.
I cleaned out my Bathroom variety several months ago and it was a great feeling. I use Lock and Lock from QVC and organize all my bath necessities like Q TIPS, FLOSSERS, NAIL CARE ETC.
Two ideas that I use... command hooks either on the inside door or inside the cupboard in front of the Stacked Storage and I hang my blow dryer and my curling wands from them by their cords. I use small Command hooks on my upper cabinets in my bathroom to hang my necklaces on the inside of cupboards. Second idea save a tall pill bottle take the label off and tuck your Q-tips into it for travel. It will hold a ton of Q-tips surprisingly! Super easy to travel with and you don't worry about the bag getting smashed, bent, or ripped.
I gave in and put a rectangular basket on my counter under the wall outlet. If I was rushed and my husband needed to use the sink, he just tossed it in the basket if I'd trashed the counter. Had to go in on Saturdays and clear that out cause somethings went elsewhere. Worked great. Worked so good we got him a matching one.
I switched to an old school safety razor about a year ago. The triple blades of standard razors gave me razor burn. The single blade safety razor is so much better for me and my sensitive skin. Love it!
Billie razors. $9 to start, $9 for each pack of 4 refill blades. The creamy stuff around the outside actually doesn't make me break out! I've been super impressed.
I'm so glad you mentioned your wedding ring. I do the same thing. My husband never ever takes his off and doesn't understand that it catches on things and gets water under it. Maybe if he ever washed a dish he would understand 🤔
To reorganize my under the sink bathroom cabinet I used empty kleenex boxes that I wrapped with decorative duck tape. Easy to clean and it was a fun, quick project to do with my daughter during quarantine. I also use men's razor, they are more effective and less expensive. Same for shaving cream, either men's or conditioner. Also heard that coconut oil works well but it can clog your pipes.
I went through all my nail polishes a couple of years ago and now only have 3 colors - lilac for my toe nails, pearlescent pink for my finger nails and clear - I recently cleared the linen/bathroom closet and all of my nail products are in glass jars in a basket - I keep it in my bedroom. If I wish to do my nails in the living room, I simply carry my basket with me - so simple, neat and I know exactly where to find everything. I also use what was an outside candle holder as a toilet paper holder ( I rent so didn't have a holder on the wall) - the top rests on top and it looks dramatic ( the stand , lol, not the to ) - I also keep a matching metal magazine rack in the bathroom. The bottom stores 9 rolls of TP while the top is covered by a pretty place mat with my bottles of shampoos & conditioners. I am working my way toward using it all up and having only one bottle of each
Fusion mens razor here! Haven’t ever found a women’s razor that I like...a thought I always have is I shave more of my body hair than my husband yet “women’s razors” suck! I do have a mini Venus for travel...doesn’t compare though! A little trip I saw for bins in drawers, use a little of museum putty on the bottom of the bin so when you open and shit the bin doesn’t slide.
Dollar shave club!! They have been the best for me. I unfortunately have thick dark hair and desperately need something that works. These things are awesome
Hi Moon Goddess I’m in Buffalo, too! Did you see her video about trying the Australian treats? I’m thinking about sending her some sponge candy from Watson’s and Fowler’s and see which she likes better. She’s someone I see myself being friends with, too!
I used dollar shave club razors for years, but then switched to Billie, which I actually really like. The charcoal soap makes it possible to shave without shaving cream, so they are super fast.
Everything looks so great and organized! Love the idea of the nail polish caddy. The only razors I use is a girl razor but it’s the Venus razor with the “soap bars” on the top and bottom of the razor. Although I do agree that men’s razors cut so much better. I just really fell in love with the Venus one because it gives me less razor burn because of the “soap bars”. Much love to you and your family ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love the Intuition razor. No need for gel or soap or whatever, especially great for travel. Usually stock up at BJs when they take coupons + their coupon. One refill lasts me 3 or 4 months.
I have used a Schick Intuition (women’s) razor for YEARS. It’s the one that’s surrounded with the “shaving cream”. I love how it works and I love that I don’t need to buy/use shaving cream. The refills are a little pricey but they last me a while and I get them on sale or with an iBotta rebate.
Christine this is literally your locked closet like Monica. Lmao you didn’t even take off the tags from that Ross organizer omg hahahah missed the chance to throw in that friends clip!
For sure! I have only used men's Mach 3 razors since high school! The only one that works to get all the hair. Women's razors suck, I wish someone would get it!! Also, on the organizers... I've seen people spray paint them and they look amazing!
You could always check for hikes in your state. You can find a lot of stuff on pinterest and you can make yummy snacks to pack with you. You could also make a scavenger hunt for your kids where they have to find local flora/fona and whoever wins get to pick there favorite dinner.
I still have razors that were free from my extreme couponing days . Hubby only uses good "manly" razors 😉. You did pretty darn good. I went nuts and organized a LOT of the house when I retired. Redid my large pantry room recently so I could stock more food and other items due to the stores being out of items routinely. Have a wonderful week.
You can spray paint the bins with plastic spray paint or "But first, coffee" RU-vidr has a great example of dollar store organizing style tips. She uses patterned contact paper to make them really nice too!!!
I use my hubands razor. Its the Harry's brand. I bought it for him after Christmas because it was on clearance because it was a Christmas gift set and now it's the only one we use. The replacement blades are cheaper then the other brands.
The organizer you put by your hair dryer you can also use in your car for food. Like when you go through the drive thru you put drink in one slot, fries in one and sandwich in one.
This morning I went to dollar tree and bought some containers to organize my master bathroom cabinets because I am doing a major stock up on everything so I have been picking up extra soap, shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorants so needed to organize so I could get it all out of the grocery bags and stored. So tonight i sit down to look at RU-vid and your doing a bathroom clean out i guess it's that time of the year.
Love the video! This makeup organizer is perfect because everything is visible and it's a reasonable size. I got it for $8ish. It'll likely fit in your drawer and it hangs on a wall mounted makeup mirror so well. The Amazon title is BEWAVE Makeup Bag for Women Girl, Bigger Toiletry Case Cosmetic Bags for Travel with Hook
Thanks for mentioning the men’s razors being so superior! I know this!!! I had forgotten or I bought pink ones to differentiate from my sons... ugh thanks for the reminder.
I hope you can't see this hair! *promptly wipes it up and shows hair* "Girl" razors can go away. This whole girl vs guy product thing is stupid. Just turn it into universal branding and "choose your favourite colour"
100% agree about men’s razors working better. I use the Harry’s razors. Love them and they’re super cheap and good quality. You can get the handle for free with their promos and the blades cost like $2 each. Highly recommend!!
Put rubbery drawer/cupboard liner in the drawer where you have the green bin and the long black metal containers. Otherwise everything will slide around and drive you crazy. LOL btw about the fact that you still had the cardboard label thing on your over-the-door hanger after 6 years. Me too!
Just an idea keep your Qtips and your cotton squares on your counter. I know for me I use those things often and since they are in jars it will make things look pretty
Thank you Christine for sharing your organisation tips! I just moved in myself for the first time and needed inspiration! Can’t wait for your next video :)
