Join me for a little sewing tutorial. I use 1 Dollar Tree placemat (12”x18”), a piece of clear plastic, 2 zippers, and a cute fat quarter piece of fabric. It takes about 30 minutes depending on your skill level.

Those plastic zipper bags that bedding comes in are great for these projects. It is usually heavier. I am going to make a few of these. Thanks!

Hey Nathalie, I think this came out absolutely splendid!!! Oh my word, I wouldn't be able to sew with kitty just laying swaying her tail back and forth there, I'd be sooo frightened that her tail would get cut by the needle. That's like when my cat used to lay next to the rocking chair and synchronize his sway under the chair when it rocked. Oh lordy...🤣 Have a blessed rest of your Sunday. Lizzie 🦋

Great project. I save the clear plastic bags that sheets or mattress covers come in, just the right thickness.

This is adorable! I've made placemat pouches & some bags similar to yours from just fabric, but I have several placemats left from making the pouches-I may have to make some of these :) I also was gifted MANY zippers years ago from a fellow quilter friend so I'm all set :)

Your machine runs quietly & I loved how you worked with the vinyl. I just ordered a teflon foot (& a bunch of zippers) b/c it glides over vinyl & plastic. I am always looking for items to create do-overs. Sometimes Thrift stores & dollar stores. Thx & great job.
