Use this Dollar Tree hack to save money on stamp storage supplies! Photo Albums - bit.ly/31ZuqMJ (set of 24 - if you want only a few, you have to get them in the store!)
Genius - I remember I had hundreds of these mini pockets that I didn’t think I had a use for. I have just dug them out from the bottom of the closet. I knew they would come in use one day!!! Thank you from 🇬🇧, liked and subscribed!
As futrher organization...I added taller colored paper as dividers with titles of what stamps were in that section.. sentiments, animals, holidays, house mouse, ... whatever sections you want ... that helps me at least start the correct search without having to go thru all the stamps to find what I am looking for..
Terrific! I saw another video where the woman cut down some Dollar Tree frosted, colorless, kitchen cutting mats to make dividers for the different genres of stamps, so that they were an inch taller than her envelopes. She said you can write right on the mats with a Sharpie to label them, and you can write the shape of with nail polish remover, to change the labels. I think there was more than one mat in a package for $1, and you can get multiple dividers from one mat. Thanks for the great idea! Wouldn't we all love to have Jennifer's resources, but isn't it fun to figure out how to do it for less?
That is amazing - I am almost certain I have some of those placemats too! They come 2 in a package and are pretty large. Great tip, thanks! I love Jennifer!! But I needed the cheapie version for sure haha
I started storing my stamps and dies like this about a week ago when I had an epiphany at the Dollar Tree. It's so funny how your video just popped up for me today. You mentioned other photo albums could work in the same way. I just found a photo album at a thrift store that I snapped up for a couple of dollars to use for larger stamp sets. It's amazing how other people's "junk" can be your "treasure," especially when you think outside of the box.
That's incredible how that worked. I didn't even have my epiphany until way after I tried stuffing my stamps in the photo album as-is. It was so fat and unmanageable then it finally dawned on me to remove the pages lol I love that you were able to find some larger ones too!
Great idea! I photo copy each set I have and number it on the page (I put it in a page protector and then in a binder) and then same number on the sleeve. That way I pull out my personal stamp catalog, flip through it and find the stamp set I want and know exactly where to find it. You can go a step farther by separating them into categories. I have 3 large binders and it really helps. It takes time but it is one of the best solutions to a large collection. Once it is done just keep up with it as your collection grows. Please note I have been using stamps for 18 years 😊 Hence the large collection. I am not a hoarder🤣
@@dinahsoar6982 you can do it. I started after I had many sets. I also unmounted all my wood blocks. It was very overwhelming. One step at a time is best. Make a goal of doing even 5 sets a night, or start now with anything you buy then add a set or 2. Who cares if it takes you a year😊. It feels so good to be able to see what you have at a glance and to know exactly where they are. At first I was stamping them all, then it hit me to photocopy...game changer...lol
My Crafting Buddy started this system for me a few years ago because she's been crafting since dinosaurs roamed the earth! I have Rheumatoid Arthritis so my small motor skills suck and I can't lift anything too heavy. My workstation is far away from my stamp and die storage. I keep the binder with the stamp examples right at my desk so it is super easy and light to flip through when choosing a stamp or looking for inspiration. I also write the identifying information in my examples binder so it's at my workstation if I need it. Some of the categories I use if someone would like a starting point: - Stamp & Matching Die sets - Alpha Numeric & Words - Floral & Foliage - Background & Textures - Critters - Objects I also have a binder for my Dies and one for my stencils at my desk as well. Three one-inch binders in different colours. The stencil one is the newest addition as recently my stencil collection has become ... more! LOL
This is EXACTLY the way I have been doing fo at least 4 years now works great !! What i do is i take a piece of copy paper and stamp the image while on storage plastic it comes on . Then cut down to fit pocket slide in front you can see at a glance how it looks stamped....works !!!!!!
I love your dollar tree videos! I just can’t get enough Dollar Tree content. They are informative. I make dollar Tree videos too. It’s a pleasure to learn from other talented creators like you! I hope we can learn more from each other!
What a great idea. I did this for all my misc. stamps, but I went a step further. I went back to Dollar Tree to pick up 4 more albums to use for my cards. I did not tear the books apart for this project. After I finish each new card, I then photocopy the card and on the back of the copy I write down the stamp set name and dies used. I also write down who I sent the card to and date and then place into the sleeve. I did books for Christmas and birthdays. Also a book for extra die cutouts and one for ideas like different embossing techniques etc. Thank you so much for the idea.
Thank you. I'm in the middle of organizing all my stamps, and been pulling ideas from many different people to find ways that will work for me. I was just wondering about all the odd sheets of stamps I have, and how I could store them, and the tip about keeping the die's with them is great. And thanks to Kim Clayton who suggested rounding the corners, that is going to save me some heartache. Thanks all the way from New Zealand.
I love Jennifer McGuire too, however….. I do love your style! I found you and lost you…. I found you again, AND subscribed. I won’t loose you again! You have fantastic organizing ideas.
Great idea! Just came back from Dollar Tree with 4 of their new clear stamp sets, and thought now I have enough stamps to need some organizing. Another trip to Dollar Tree is in my future! Thank you
What a great storage solution! I did this with mine after seeing your video, and store them on the back of my craft room door in the clear pockets of a dollar tree shoe bag, easy to label and find things and vertical storage is so handy. Thank you!
I try to include a notation of the date I bought/was given each stamp set/die/embossing folder and price I paid for it. It's eye-opening to see how little I paid for something 30 years ago compared to what I paid for something yesterday.
I used this idea and loved how it turned out. I am trying to organize my craft room and was able to get rid of one trash bag of plastic cases. So thank you.
I just came across your video while looking for craft organizing storage ideas. This is a wonderful money saving idea. I have been storing my smaller stamps and dies in their original packaging in bins like you have in this video but it is such a pain to open the packaging every time and not have them rip over time. This is a great alternative, easier to take them in and out and sturdier too. Thank you for sharing this idea!
Thank you for this video! I have been trying to think of an economical way to manage my growing stamp collection and you just showed me how to do it. Off to Dollar Tree! 🌳
I love your ideas. It's so cool how you came up with the little albums to use. Awesome. I use the bins they work so good. I had already put to much money on the envelopes for the storage. I wish I had seen this video first. Thank you for making this video.
Thanks for sharing this great idea! I store my dies in a container similar to yours, and my stamps that come with dies, exactly as shown above. However, it never occurred to me to use the Dollar Store photo sleeves. That's brilliant - and it looks great! Again, thanks for sharing.
I ordered more clear envelopes from Amazon. Now, I want to run to the dollar store. You have excellent ideas and I just subscribed to your channel. Thank you!!😁
Great solution. I'm frugal too and I take the original packaging, and trim a sliver off of the long side..then I remove the stamps and round the corner of the card stock to which they're attached and slip them back in the pkg and store them on their side with the cut side on the top. I always tape the ends of the cell packaging to reinforce it b/c, over time, it might split on the ends..scotch tape prevents that. I store everything similarly..I like to recycle my sparkling water containers (the ones that are the 12 oz cans) ..I cut them in half so I have 2 'boxes without lids"..not really pretty but so useful for many applications. I trim the sides down to about an inch and a half all around and use the shallow box that is left to organize the pieces I'm working on...they stack so the footprint on my work surface is small, gives me more room to work.
I've been storing my unmounted stamps since the late 1990's in 4x6 appx zip bags, very inexpensive at the craft store. I originally used those plastic shoe bins to house the sleeves. Later I switched to those decorative photo boxes Michaels sells. I like the ones with metal tags on the end...I identify my boxes that way. Box 1 has topic A-C etc. I'd thought about your method too, thanks for sharing how you approached the storage solution. When you showed how you took apart the individual sleeves I thought I'd suggest leaving a few together for your sets like upper and lower case alphabets or sets with larger stamp quantities.
Soooo glad this came up in my RU-vid feed! What an EXCELLENT idea. And timely as I am working on my craft room organization right now. Will definitely be stopping into the Dollar Tree to pick up an album or two. Thank you for sharing!
Fantastic! Yours is the best method (easy, efficient, AND cheap) that I've yet seen, and I've seen SO many. I am on it! Can't wait to get me to a Dollar Tree Store! Thank you!!
I just found you, this is a wonderful idea for storing the stamps and dies..I will be doing this also..the only thing I will do is cut the card sock they come on just a little higher than the sleeve for seeing what they are..Great idea!!
Amazingly clever. Thank you for sharing your idea. Boxes are at the Dollar tree also. I have seen magnetic sheets at the store also, in the school supply area. :)
Oh wow! I love this idea! My Dollar Store also has those albums in various sizes...I'm going 'shopping' tomorrow! Many thanks for a great informative video - stay well🙂
Have a BUNCH of ribbon? Not enough things to store it all in or money to buy enough like me? Have a small craft space like me? Then tip ...look up and utilize the top portion of your wall. Get you some cheap metal/aluminum curtain rods from Walmart for $1.07 these days. Between the top of closet door frame and ceiling I can get 2 curtain rides one above the other. I give the top one more room for larger spools of ribbon. Depending on size of ribbon you can sit then on side or on end as well as put one spool on top of another for smaller ones. I have this system going all the way around my craft room even above entry door. I did mine utilizing space between top of closet door and ceiling so it's uniform all the way around the room. So I have mine 2 rows all the way around. Where one curtain rod ends then I put the next one above 1/4 inch or so next to it. Just enough room to be able to slide rod onto hook. It reminds me of a train track of ribbon going around, lol. Might help someone
Thank you for generously sharing your organizational tip(s)!....very clever and cheap. I have a lot of dies and smaller stamp sets on a hanging organizer with pockets (Marshalls) but I'm losing control! Time to consolidate with your hack! Thanks so much!
This is, definitely, one of the smartest, quickest, and most cost-effective hacks that I have seen so far for those stamps. As soon as I saw it, I went to $Tree. Thanks for sharing.
This is brilliant! I use the ScrapRack to story most of my stamps and dies, but I have a collection of card base dies that I want to flip through and find easily. This is it! Thank you for your video!
So awesome! It's been so long since I used photos in photo albums, but these albums are PERFECT for all the 4x6 sized cardmaking items. :). Thanks for sharing this great tip!!
Hi! Just went and grabbed a photo album to try this tip and it is awesome! I had also bought some of the stamp sets they had and several were on stock that was more square than rectangular. I used the cover sheet sleeves from the photo album to fit those and it worked brilliantly and you if you bought one of the decorative albums you can reuse the cover sheets for crafting! Lots of reuse in this project! Thanks for sharing!
Great idea! I am already keeping all my dies in these albums. They have held up really well the past 3 years. I have got to see if the majority of my stamps will fit. I have bought most of my stamps from Ali express and thier are often square. But this is the best affordable option I have seen to date! Great idea!!!
What a fantastic idea! I will tape the name of the stamp to the pocket for a quick ID when looking for a specific set. I also use Airtable to get an inventory of what I have so I don't reorder it by mistake.
@@ladytee337 YES. Airtable is a free app. I have it on my phone, my IPad and my desktop computer. I am able to keep track of my supplies, collections, wants and desires. Very handy when I am out shopping for antiques and see something I collect. I can look at pictures, compare prices or see how many I may need (dishes). Check it out. I also keep track of what stamps, dies, stencils, etc I have so I don't order something I already have. Great product. Easy to use.
You could make a photo copy of the stamp, assign each stamp pack a number, put the numbered photo copy in one of the albums as a reference book to your current organization setup.
Just saw your video now - New Year December 31st 2023 -2024🥳🎉awesome storage idea, love everything that saves money.💸.....to buy more items, lol Thank you so much for sharing!♥
This is brilliant. I know, not an original comment, but it just is brilliant!! I found you yesterday with a couple of gel plate tutorials, pinned those (because you have amazing ideas) and after this video I subscribed immediately. On to some more great ideas. Oh, I am not a hoarder. Nope not at all!! Thanks for sharing👍
I've been doing this hack for a while the back side is great if you take a piece of white paper cut it to size and print the rubber stamp on the paper then when you put it in your plastic shoe box to file your rubber stamps have that piece of paper with the image on it facing forward as you flip through the file it will be quicker an easier to find exactly the stamped image you want transparent s h e e t at most stationery stores and cut it to size if your stamp does not come sheet
What a smart idea! Thanks so much for sharing this! I'd used these photo albums to store stickers and I'd tried to use it for small stamps but ran into the exact problem you described - tooooo full! I never thought of deconstructing it! I think I saw that Jennifer McGuire Ink organization video a while back - you're right - she has an impressive system but it would be quite an investment. I'm so happy to have ran across your video! New subbie! Thanks again for the useful info!!!
haha - Yes, it was so fat and useless before I discovered how easily it came apart. If it was not a Dollar Tree item, it might not have come apart so easily so sometimes cheap is good ;) You're welcome and thank you!!
I'm regrouping my stamps into "likes with likes" (thank you, happy birthday, thinking of you, etc.) and like you, storing them in clear shoe boxes so I can quickly find the sentiment I need. I just need the albums. So, I'm off to DT. Thanks!
Thank u so very much. I especially like the idea of having your stamps & dies 2gether that go 2gether in 1 sleeve. I have been looking 4 a solution 2 this 4 quite a while. Thank u thank u thank u!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a blessed great night.
What a great idea!!! In the process of removing the wood from my older stamps. Storing them in sleeves, in a shoebox container would work for me 😁 Thank you clever girl!!
Great idea with the photo book! I have my stamps in containers using purchased sleeves but this is more economical! I also put dividers in between based on genre! Tfs❤
This just came up in my recommended videos...after I got back from the Dollar Tree! Lol! Our DT isn't very big, but I'll definitely go back and see if they have these. Nearly all my stamps are in DVD cases, so I need a need a more space saving solution. Thanks for this great tip!!!
Thank you for the great idea. I’m currently using CD sleeves that I bought at the thrift store (100 for $1) for the smaller stamp sets. I still have larger ones in their original packaging that I’d love to organize.
Brilliant idea. I need some more plastic packs for stamps and I prefer the Dollar Store price best. I wish I had kept the original stamp packaging when I started storing stamps and dies in pockets.
This is an ingenious [clever, original, and inventive] idea for stamp storage on a budget. Love all the adjectives to this word. It would make a great definition stamp. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to watching more.
I was just going through my stamp collection and working on better organizing them. Thank you so much.

Love your ideas. Wish I had seen this before I started my addiction. I have sleeves that I paid way too much for that I use like your sleeve pockets but I also put die cuts in the back behind the dies.
Wonderful idea! I had my stamps in an album with page protectors, but it didn’t stand up to frequent use. These little albums are in abundance in Thrift Store these days if you want to repurchase from there. Thank-you.
YES!!! I have many stamp sets like this that are all differing sizes and have not come up with a great method to store and SEE them easily. This is a perfect start! Heading to DollarTree right now to seek out some of these little albums! Thanks!
I also use this type of system. I have sorted my stamps according to type ... Christmas, Birthday, Floral, ect. Them I store them in the containers alphabeticaly. I use cardstock to make tabbed seperators then laminate them to define each catagory.
I have a thermal D30 printer. That would be perfect labels. That way it's typed out if you hate your handwriting like I do mine. You can print just one label or several copies at once.
