Yall remember when Katherine used to think switching heads was a bold move? Now she makes dolls from scratch and rebuilds almost the entire thing when she doesn't.

I love how her voice almost sounds entirely different when she's speaking Korean vs English. So cool

The “Making Of” could even be a series of shorts, talking about how you do each part of a project. That way you could do it in chunks, rather than all at once, and you could get as simple or in-depth as you wanted without worrying if it would take up too much of a singular video.

You saying “messy art room” took me back to the after-school art class that I’d go to during the weekends. It was really just a renovated apartment space and had like a dozen other kids coming in and out at different parts of the day, and it was filled with art supplies, projects and books.

Technically all your videos are “making-of” videos... you know, how to make the doll that you’re customizing (I’d love to see a making of video!)

I never even thought about how you must do face-ups from such a distance. That makes your work even more impressive!

Since your dolls (and the sad plants) and fairly light, I would suggest using sticky hooks and making shelves that way for more display space. Additionally, you could use tension rods (like for shower curtains) or shelf-in-a-shelf things from ikea in the wardrobe for improved organization and not have to put everything on top of each other.

I would recommend acid free tissue paper for your dolls, the color in the regular tissue paper can stain them

as an apartment-liver, command strips and command strip brand hooks are your best friend for hanging decorations. also, cant wait to see where you hang your dolls now to worry your new neighbors!

I can’t wait until I can afford to build my own sewing and crafts room. I’m really into making stuffed animals and clothing so it would be a dream to have a whole work room like this 😍🌈

“The messy art room” is just my bedroom but whenever I get crafting or painting it turns into what I like to call controlled chaos 😌

A “Making Of” episode would be very interesting, more so after you show us how you work around the camera.

Ooh! I'm so excited!! I've always wondered what your space looks like. I love seeing the creative workspaces of other people :D also, just a suggestion but you could always use a smaller table top tripod and you could put the camera on the table that way you could still zoom in and out or adjust it if you needed to but you would have more room to sit down and be more comfortable

For the paintings and stuff, maybe command hooks/strips?

YES PLEASE, I would LOVE to see a "Making of" video! I'm very interested in the process, I always struggle with making my custom doll videos (which is why I don't have that many, yet). But thank you for making this video, it was really cool to see your setup. I wish I was as organized as you! Haha

Your Korean is amazing!! It's so inspiring to see especially since I'm learning a language myself (Japanese). I've been at it for a couple years now but I feel as if I'm not making much progress. But seeing how you've improved over the years makes me so happy. I wish you the best on the rest of your studies, and just life/work in general! I always love watching you work as it calms me down when my anxiety is bad or it helps me sleep since I find your voice soothing. I constantly rewatch your videos and frankly they never get old despite the fact I can sometimes recite specific words you use, jokes you make, or events whilst you're making your dolls. Reading this back, that sounds quite creepy lol. Keep up the amazing work though! No matter what I'm sure you'll always have us to support your creations even if they change over time. I would love to see a start and finish of the entirety of a doll making video! It would be really nice to see your work flow and apply to all sorts of projects people want to share that have a voice over type video!

Hey Katherine, if you still want to hang up your paintings w/o drilling into the walls, look into industrial wall putty or adhesive strips! They’re a renter’s dream, and some can hold a lot of weight. Great tour, super happy for you and hubby!

Heck yeah I'd love to see a full making of! I love studios like this, too. I mostly do digital art (so my "studio" is a super beefed up computer setup) but I also want a place like this where I could really dig into physical projects.

I wish there was a simple way to work up a rig for your camera so that it's overhead like in those cooking shows - but then you'd have to look up all the time to see if the doll is in frame, and I can't imagine the set-up would work without screwing it into a structure. The ikea Alex drawers are amazingnfor fabric storage! I have 3 in my sewing room and they are the bases for my work tables instead of table legs! Love them!

There is something so wonderfully wholesome about gushing about storage space. I love when things have "permanent" places in my home. It's like balm for the soul ^^'

I’m very interested in how many bits you have in your studio that I have in mine! The IKEA tables, the wooden IKEA stool, the cloth hanging down for a backdrop, some tubs, some more tubs, a few more tubs….. and some tubs! It looks fantastic! It’s so inspiring to be in a new studio space especially when it’s lovely and organised 🎨💜

Hey girl, so to help with your lighting issue try getting white sheer curtains! They create a nice soft box effect by diluting the light without discoloring it plus you can still see the lovely view through them. My art studio also had huge windows with bright light and the soft white chiffony curtains really helped. Love your videos can't wait for the next one 😊

I love my view of the mountains too!! Its so helpful when you just need a break from working to just look out the window, and I dont know if it's the different trees or what but the mountains here in Korea just feel different than the mountains back in the states. ❤️

I have a suggestion on a way to hang up the pictures try using double sided tape it’s pretty strong depending how much you use and they don’t damage the walls

Yes please to a behind the scenes/making off video! I'd say do it now before the studio gets cluttered but, as you showed, it clutters itself as soon as you get into a project. I have a two bedroom apartment (or as I like to say: "a craftroom with kitchen, bath and bed") for myself and I'm convinced the clutter breeds when my back is turned!

This was an interesting video! I can only hope that my own "studio" can be as organized as yours is one day (don't have one right now, I'm sharing living space with my sister and we're trying to cram like seven different rooms into a single room and attic space).

I think it would be really cool to see kind of a daily life/vlog (if you’re comfortable with doing that) around Korea! Kind of a mini tour for people who are interested in visiting. But the space looks very nice! :)

I loved seeing your studio! I'm so happy for you that you have an entire room to work in. At one time I was trying to make a dress on my dining room table and when I HAD to clear the table, that was the end of the dress project.

Your spiderwort plant (big vine, purple green leaves) actually looks gorgeous! I find growing them on the UK can be a tad temperamental

I also live in an apartment, so I tend to use Command strips to hang stuff like paintings, and poster putty for unframed posters or small stickers I don't want to stick to something. I can use thumbtacks for small items, but I have drywall and I have to fill the holes in when I move out. Some very tall bookshelves in your computer corner might not go amiss either, as you can prop up your framed paintings against the wall on top, and stick smaller wall displays on the side too! (And of course more display space.) I hope this helps anyone looking for some apartment design tips! 💖

It's a really nice workspace - so glad you've got more room to work here! On the topic of the paintings you can't hang from the walls, I recommend something along the lines of Command strips or some other type of removable wall adhesive (not sure if command strips exist outside the US or what kind of equivalents exist in Korea but it was my closest example lol). My brother and sister-in-law have concrete walls at their place too and they couldn't really nail anything in to hang their many pictures and other decorations, so they've used a number of removable adhesives to hang a lot of them up. There are types specifically made as screw/nail/tack substitutes that are supposed to come off easily without residue when you need to take the item back down. It's a good way to keep your paintings up without drilling holes in the walls :)
