Yeah. Note this was after hours and the animatronics weren't worth a lot back then. So it wasn't like a terrible thing to do when they threw stuff at the animatronics back then.
That is the Chuck E Cheese that I remember going to as a kid of the 80's, back in the day when they had real arcade machines, something that is lacking in today's Chuck E. Cheeses.
I remember sitting there watching her as a kid. I was SO upset when they had removed her. I wouldn't even spend my tokens because I'd be so busy just watching and listening... in fact, when I got older, I wanted a lounge act, much like hers. lol. I just remembered about her upon planning my daughter's birthday party.
You have to remember back then, these animatronics weren't worth that much value. Like, almost none at all. It was cool and new for the time, but they weren't rare or anything.
This animatronic is actually good,I didn't really like the other chuck e. Cheese characters but I like her voice and I love how unique they made her. :)

Julian, yes she was "sleeping" between skits. There was a delay as the tapes found the next song. Her mouth(as all movements) were controlled by air pressure and cylinders. The tapes played the music as well as told which cylinder to move. In this skit, she mentioned her fourth husband,Joe.Her first husband was named Nolan. That was a pun towards Nolan Bushnell, founder of Chuck E. Cheese.-John

Yeah, I realized that too. It must have been. Lighting thing that ptt did. I personally like it better like that and I wish Chuck E. Cheese did that today
+SRCVintage Electronics Actually, showbiz pizza did it also, it as because animatronic bands were the main purpose of these restraunts, and sometime CEC did light shows, and Showbiz always did. That is why

@@the4tierbridge Dolli has become an animatronic artifact, she is so rare. She got retired in the early ‘80s and it’s just sad to see people don’t treat her right, after all so many of the Dolli’s are rotting away in a warehouse. We know she is a robot but it is still disrespectful to do that. Do you know how hard animatronics are to fix? So much money goes into fixing one tiny part of her.
Ben Grout Because CEC doesn't like money and instead is trying to get rid of all that made CEC great, and is trying to push their shitty Disney mouse on us. I prefer the original Chuck E, the rat from Jersey. I will never consider modern day Chuck E Cheese to be the real Chuck E Cheese. When my dad took me to Chuck E Cheese when I was a teen, I had a blast. Now most of the arcade games are crap, and it just seems very quiet compared to the old days.
There were only a few Dollys around. My first robot job as a tech there was to repair her boobs. They had stopped moving up and down! She was replaced by a big screen TV.Years later, after they were bought out,I personally had to tear down the king! Sad day!!
I have so many questions are they employees after hours, if it’s after hours why are they still running the animatronics, if there open where the fuck is everyone, WHY ARE THEY THROWING SHIT
TOO COOL. Worked there when I was 15-17. John, the guy that posted this was a great dude to work with, as well as Nate, the guy you see messing with the dough balls. All in good fun. Dolli was the best. King was awesome. Dough ball fights very common in the restaurant. The CEC in Mentor today is NOTHING compared to what this place was. Nate and John, if you are reading this, hope you are doing well--PHIL U.
You have to remember back then, these animatronics weren't worth that much value. They were probably doing it out of boredom, just to mess around and be funny after hours.
Ok, you guys running the video I think you need a fifteen minute lecture on respect and you should ALL be fired, that was so heartbreaking for me to see a poor, 30, or 40 something year old animatronic getting treated like this. Just because she can't feel pain. It hurts most of the people watching this SO HAVE SOME RESPECT OR SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR JOBS, you should know better. I can't believe it's like I'm older then you guys running this. SHOW SOME RESPECT FOR PEOPLE AND ANIMALS AND OBJECTS
You have to remember back then, these animatronics weren't worth that much value. Like, almost none at all. It was cool and new for the time, but they weren't rare or anything. Also, when this was filmed that animatronic wasn't even a year old, at most 2 or 3 years old.
This really isn’t funny. So much work goes into an animatronic and you choose to throw things at Dolli Dimples. Dolli Dimples is super rare and i know this footage is from 1985 but they are legit so immature for doing this. Now most Dolli’s are going to waste in a warehouse when she used to bring smiles to young children’s faces.
Lmao why is everyone so angry with the guys in the comments? They're literally doing what every child did back in the 80's. There's a piece of all of us that wants to put stuff in the mouths of the characters just to be funny.
@below, we all know. Also, she wasn't sleeping, her AI paused as her next tape that played the skits was starting up, Also, I know a HELL Lot about cec's advanced AI systems and computer programmed am inaction patterns etc. Most likely more than you :P
There is no AI. You apparently dont know as much as you say they do, but everyone makes mistakes! No AI, just electric signals from the tape that triggers valves opening and closing to send or shut off air flow to the cylinders, which, in turn, move the character. No AI.
