Dolly Parton & Tammy Wynette sing a medley of Tammy's hits: 'Stand By Your Man', 'Appartment #9'. 'D-I-V-O-R-C-E, 'I Don't Wanna Play House' and 'Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad' at Dolly's own show in January 1988.
@@elizabethray7773 What i love about it is what you hear is exactly whats coming out of their mouths, no need for sound effects or digital enhancement this is beautiful!
No fancy stage lights, no smoke, no voice modulators, just pure, raw talent and stage presence unseen in anyone in the past 25 years or more. Dolly is my all-time favorite, but even I won't deny Tammy had the greatest female country voice in the business; full of pain, suffering, hard times and unadulterated emotion.
When you are the real deal, you don't need a whole bunch of anything extra to amplify your image. These two lady's sparkle in their own light! Tammy earned her emotional originality. She had some painful times in her life. May she now RIP.
Dolly can harmonize to anyone. And even tho she's A strong soprano, her voice just flows with her partner, becoming the ultimate compliment. Never overpowering, yet sometimes unintentionally outshining the lead. Not true in this case. Tammy's voice is strong and unique enough to hold her own while being complimented. Beautiful.
So true, Melinda, Country music's two top blonde beauties with incomparable voices. Saw Tammy five times when she was at the peak of her fame, what a performer! This video is a bonus.
I have to agree they are both extraordinarily talented women. Tammy's voice is amazing and Dolly's ability to harmonise so beautifully is simply and completely incredible. It is interesting however that some of her fans apparently can't spell 'complement' - and that is not a compliment…
Tammy's been gone over 20 years, yet she still sends chills up my spine & puts a tear in my eye every single time I hear her sing. Such a beautiful person & amazing talent, lost much much too soon.
Dolly's harmonies are off the hook and absolutely on the money. Her Soprano voice and Tammy's Mezzo voice fit together like a hand in a glove, and what an underrated singer Tammy Wynette was!
Wow, I never realized how much power Tammy had in her voice. It was huge. Dolly really had to work to be heard. Terrific harmonies with these 2 legends.
What I love is when Tammy hits that “keep givin’ all the love you CAAAAAAN” in chest voice, Dolly (who is a soprano like me) just goes, “I cain’t do that.” She is so humble and she and Tammy are perfection.
Im a 16 year old German boy and I love and know all of these songs. I love Dolly Parton and Tammy Wynette they are so great. I wished Tammy was still here with us
These harmonies are out of control!!! Dolly is so famous for her writing that I think people forget how crazy her vocals are. And after all these years she can STILL sing.
David & Cherene Immel yes she’s a beautiful lady, and might I add has the fountain of youth secrets cuz he doesn’t age lolll. I’m in my late 30’s and kill to date her even if she wasn’t famous.
Yes her album version of I don’t wanna play house she hits that high note and doesn’t even flinch that’s gotta be a blessing from God talent no one can teach you that
Tammy Wynette will be with us as long as music is played, she was unique, and it is our loss that she is gone, but never will she be forgotten by Country Music.Rest easy, Sweetheart, we love you.
yeah absolutely I’ve been married for 32years I was 24 and she was 20. She got cancer in 2020 I was totally lost without her. She took a major hit the treatment was horrible for her. I could do nothing to change any thing so I felt helpless..i miss her everyday. Mothers are the glue that holds everyone together. seeing this makes me miss her even more I come to this page all the time just to have that nostalgia
Dolly Parton is such a generous woman to her colleagues, and Tammy was or will be never forgotten, what a loss to her family, but the legend gave us her talented life thank you Tammy.
I love her hair! Much better than her previous trademark look. Tammy Wynette looked stunning. But when you have two greatest singers, Dolly Parton and Tammy Wynette, sing together WOW!!!!
I can't believe I have never seen this. Dolly has such an amazingly versatile voice. Like a bird, as a so many say, fluttering around the notes, then landing on them with such great power. And Ms. Wynette; You can feel the intensity of every note she sings. Thanks for sharing this.
Everybody has a time that they were at their best physically. This was that time for Dolly. Her voice is so special and Tammy Wynette is a legend in her own right.
I saw Tammy five times in concert during her period of annual bus touring around North America, and she was phenomenal, both singing solo and in duets like this one with Dolly. Jones even drug himself out of a bar room for one duet appearance. Tammy always carried the performance without overpowering her duet partner. She had a superb sensitivity to other voices in the mix. And beautiful? Migod she was a gorgeous woman! I miss her.
These two ladies just have voices that God gave. Haven't heard the same since, then, before and after. And so beautiful and gracious. Ain't we blessed to know them.

God I miss that woman. At the risk of being a guy with a soft spot, I have to say that Tammy was my childhood. Her records spun while my mom cleaned house and my dad was off driving a truck somewhere. Her voice always takes me back so many years ago, I'll always treasure it.
Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel, better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will put a smile on your face.. Hello!!! How are you doing today, please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you're a fan ? Have a great day.. Stay Safe
I remember driving my daddy's old blue Ford pickup truck and him riding along with me. I flipped the radio station to Disco one time and he flipped it back real quick. He told me, gal, while you're in this truck riding or driving, your roots are country with Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton, and George Jones. Y'all, I never turned his radio station again in his truck. (lol) I sure respected Country growing up and still love all their music today.
@@dollyparton2642 No, I have never. I still catch you on TV or on RU-vid. Me and mom love to hear you talk about old times about your family. We always catch a good laugh from you. (lol) You look good Dolly. The song "There was Jesus" with you and Zach Williams. The two of you put the beauty in this song. I love this song! I lost my dad to Prostate Cancer in 2018. He didn't get to hear this song before he left us. I'm sure he would have asked me, "Gal, Who's this old Zach singing with Dolly? (lol) and he would have ended our conversation with, "That's a fine lady!" As he always did. When I listen to this song. It brings back many memories with my dad and the ways he helped me grow ..
@@tnt3266 okay hun thanks 🙏 once again for not giving up on my music aspirations I feel special.send me your email address so I can add you too my fans group
I was lucky enough to be there for the show, i was sitting to Tammys left. They did it 2 times, loved it both times. The other time i was there was with Loretta Lynn.

Wow, it’s so good to See Tammy in such good shape. And Dolly can STILL sing and harmonize with a creaking step. There will never be 2 more like these 2 amazing ladies!
Tammy really had richness to her voice. It is almost impossible to make Dolly Parton sound a little thin in places but Tammy did. They are amazing together. Stellar performers.
Tammy and dolly two of country's music not just country but crosses genre and borders whose music will always be wonderful to listen to again and again. Yet 500 plus don't like it why guys you dont know what good music is
Just too real, too emotional, and when sung with such an angelic voice- it tears at the heart and soul. R.I.P. Tammy, there will never be another quite like you.
Every time I hear the three singers, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton. It sounds goosebumps through my entire body. Those three were stellar, and when Tammy Wynette sang with Dolly Parton, it was super I especially love this song stand by your Man. Everybody loves those three when they sang on Johnny Carson and David Letterman, the ratings went through the roof.
This is what I can state, amazing perfect singers. As a native Mexican immigrant, I definitely can tell you, God bless the real country singers. GOD BLESS OUR AMERICA, OUR HOME SWEET HOME. The best. That's all.
