I guess it's nice to know some things never change. I spent a very, very long day in Dolly Sods about 10 years ago. Holy Crap did we get lost! The kiosk provided (not to scale) map was worthless!! Gorgeous terrain, but you better have internet connectivity or know the area very well. We spent hours bushwhacking across difficult terrain on a panic azimuth back to the road we were parked on. Beautiful country, but know what your're getting into.

Great video brother. Your cracking me up over here. Sooo close to 100k, congrats! I love Dolly Sods, but my first trip there turned out very similar to yours. 5 miles turned into 15, and oh yeah, it was spring break, ... with 2 feet of snow, and -15 wind chill. The next dozen or so trips back we’re 1000 times more successful and rewarding. We also made it up to Lions Head once, but have searched for it other times unsuccessfully. All that being said, there’s no place like DS. Fun to see you guys “experience it”.My suggestion for future trips, start at the parking lot at the south end of Red Creek trail. Oh yeah, and don’t follow the jokers your hiking with. JK😉

Dude, that sounds like a blast! 👊 im sure the wind there in the winter is crazy! All those guys especially Bryce had been there before (except Timmy). You would definitely think lions head would be easier to find😂 And that definitely sounds like a good idea 👍 👍

Great video man an idea to get the “perfect knife” to the right weight would be to add a finger Choil I don’t know if u like fingers choils or not but I’ve noticed you like Spyderco and a lot of there knives have them also you could put deep jimping in the choil to cut of even more weight another cool thing to see would be your edc knives thanks for the content have a good one 👍

Delta Force used (maybe still) to train in Dolly Sods as it is some of the most desolate unpredictable terrain around. Winter is brutaly cold and weather changes likes it is Colorado! I used to climb. Seneca Rocks every summer. Beautiful Country!

What an awesome job on the vid Alex! So cool seeing your style of editing on a backpacking trip. I have know idea how Restless got that fire going....I was always under the impression that he needed my diesel fuel to do it and he always relied on me 🤣 Now we know the truth.....he was just using me to get out of it!! 🤣🤣 Glad you got a chance to get out of the knife making studio for a few days!

Alex, what are you doing in my backyard brother, Bonner Mtn. Rd. Dry fork, red creek. Yep killed many a deer up there. By chance did you bring your bear spray😉, it's been 20 years since I've been up that way, did the pine trees on top of the Mtn. still have branches growing on one side of the tree.. the wind useta be so fierce on top of the sod😁that the limbs would only grow on one side LOL. Also 4 miles to Bryce's 10 miles🤔 I bet he beatcha back and got dry skippies on b4 y'all to. LOL. GREAT VIDEO my friend. Love Dolly Sods!!!! 👍👍~Jay~

Glad ya'll liked District 12 but, we're not much for trail markers here because trail markers make it easier for dinner to escape. How do you think Katniss Everdeen stays fed & fit? She's the one who deliberately prints the useless, out of scale maps for the kiosks.
