I was born and raised about an hour and a half from pigeon forge and am used to going to both parks since as long as i can remember so I've seen it grow and expand my whole life. It's such a nostalgic place.
Same been there so many times I don’t know one time when we didn’t get season passes personally I like Dollywood more because you can go anytime splash country you can only go in the summer
I work at splash country and I can explain why you have to sit with other people on big bear plunge. It’s a weight thing. If it was just you and your wife, you probably would have either not gone fast enough and gotten stuck or gone too fast and flipped the raft. It would be a good idea if you go again to go with a group of four. Then you won’t have to ride with someone you don’t know. Or, make friends with some kids or other people at the park and go with them.
Other than the last 10 seconds the video was good, lol. The only thing I have to add is the green twisting body slides are very strong. This is a top-5 US water park for me.
As a lifeguard and supervisor at a waterpark for many years one reason they might do that weighing process is that the manufacturing company "proslide" in this case may have a set of rules if you will that the water parks need to follow in oder to keep all guests safe. As it may be awkward for guest to stand on the scale it is also awkward for the attendants and lifeguards on duty running that slide. But all of those guidelines are put in place to keep parks safe and running for operations. Same thing with amusement rides and water slides. A reason for a height check for someone who is too short or too tall is because the manufacturer deemed it safe for that sized person to ride. Also a bit awkward when you have a 3 year old trying to ride a 48 inches and above ride.
I'm just surprised by how many times you managed to hurt yourself there. It's kinda funny though. A few days ago I went to a Waterpark with a very similar setting to Splash Country and that's Fårup Sommerland's Waterpark. Not nearly as big but still a very nice outdoor waterpark with a very nice mix of classic slides like a concrete wild river ride and modern rides like their double aqualoop.
Somebody ought to build a water coaster ride like the one in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, with a chocolate colored water(very thin mud!) and boat!
I like the idea of no stairs and just those ramps. I went to Action Park last week and what a workout... the stairs were the easy part but those hills... jesus christ.
Sorry about the guy you got paired with on the big bear plunge, but the reason they do that is because they need equal weight on each part of the raft so it doesn’t flip
3:33 “I love slides like that with the multiple humps and you can get a little bit of air time.” I rode that exact slide and let me tell you, air time IMO is good on roller coasters but WATERSLIDES?! If you don’t understand I hit my back on those humps so many times it felt like needles.

Thinking of trying this park out next time we go. We have a park alittle bigger than this one called Holiday World. Similar to this one. I think its alittle bigger.
What is the best way to get from one park to the other without paying for parking twice? Also not staying at a dollywood property to get free shuttle service
Me and my brothers and my dad were about to go on the big bear plunge, but then as soon as we were next to go, it started to thunder and we left the park :/
Their most recent mat slide addition was quite puzzling. I would like to see a complex here like the one Cedar Fair keeps cloning with drop slides and tube slides with the big drop.
We can certainly add this to the list of waterparks I want to visit. Do you get free admission or discounted tickets to Dollywood and Dollywood's Splash Country if you stay at Dollywood's Dreamore Resort or not?
There is a separate parking area and transportation from the dream resort. It's a great waterpark. I've been 4 times this year already. Every year I get season passes for dollywood and splash country. It's always so much fun
