Swedish actor, filmmaker and martial artist Dolph Lundgren remembers his first real girlfriend, Grace Jones. Grace - a famous model, singer and actress herself - caught all of the attention when the two were out in public, but that changed after the 1985 premiere of “Rocky IV.” Dolph goes on to share stories of his more eccentric experiences with Grace, including disarming her and a refusal to let her join uninvited, intimate encounters.

Dolph did his Masters degree at Sydney University. My mate's Dad was a his supervisor. One morning Dolph didn't turn up for his weekly tutorial and while my mate's Dad was waiting for him the phone in his office rings. He picks up the phone and it's Dolph, who starts apologising profusely for not being there. My mate's Dad says no worries and then asks him, "so will you be in tomorrow or later in the week.?" To which Dolph replies, "no I'm actually in Jamaica with Grace Jones..." He eventually came back and finished off his masters, I think. True story.

I have a friend who looks like Dolph, who is even partly of Swedish descent and still has cousins there. He use to live in San Franciso and one time he went to go see Grace sing. Well, Grace got closer to him while singing, stood in front of him and was looking at him eye to eye really deeply, like she was singing for him. I always theorized it's because he looked like Dolph.

@@fred5nyc first one isn't even really a boxing movie. That's such a small part of the 1st one. It's more about struggling working class people. Remember the scene where Mick begged Rocky to forgive him and take him on as a manager. I think rocky 1 every movie critic would say 1 is better. 4 is like 80's action cartoony mass appeal. 1 is like a art film. Which is fine, I like John wick which basically have very little story in the 1st one. Like marvel movies aren't really amazing storylines. Doesn't mean it's bad.

I fell in love with Grace Hones in 1979 when I saw her on the TV at a Gay event. I love her music so much. Went to see her at a club in SoMa, SF back in the mid 90’s. Standing wall to wall (in killer shoes, looking fierce but so painful), standing room only, for *hours* waiting for Grace, The Vamp, a true Diva. Worth the wait. It was after midnight before she hit the stage. 🤣 I guess better late then sober❤️

She notorious for being late. A small group of us drove up to N.Y. from Philly to see her at a club. At 4am she still hadn't arrived. Finally we decided we had to leave, because even though it was Sunday we still had to work.

Dolph did a TED talk and a point I picked up was in a time of fear we ‘run, freeze or fight’ except I’d only know ‘fight or flight’. When he said he would freeze, it set alarm bells off on my own behaviour in times of stress. The guy is insightful and brave, a powerful combination.

his IQ 160. for reference, Einstein is estimated to have had an IQ around 150, Stephen Hawking was around 180. you are considered "genius" if your IQ is over 140. how smart is he? somewhere between Einstein and Hawking. if your brain just said "holy shit!" that is the appropriate response.
