You probably thought she was scary because she did play Zula in Conan the Destroyer. She was tough as hell in that movie, and that is where I first remember seeing Grace Jones as a kid. But seeing her here in this interview, she did have an absolutely flawless complexion and skin. I was only 5 at the time this interview was done, so I didn't see it at that time, of course.

They can be cross-dressing yet be the most genuine with their opposites. Seeing beauty & artistry and praising its uniqueness instead of critiquing. Ms. Grace Jones is right!

Some people are remarkable because of what they manage to accomplish, but although their accomplishments may be impressive. Thinking of a gender as impressive is silly at best. As for calling me a dick, i do hope that wasn't meant to be an impressive form of repartee, because if so, you failed miserably.
Wow, My Jaw Drops when I see this women. Her features are amazing...beautiful bone structure with high check bones, strong jaw line, great smile, full lips, and other other breathtaking features. Grace's personality is awesome, too. She's so wise, creative, and honest.
"Are you feminine? Do you like being masculine?" Talk about a leading question 🤦♀️ Why bother asking her how she sees herself if his questions are only based on his assumptions of her? Good interviewers know when to shut up and let their subjects talk, which should be the majority of the interview.

It's so weird this fear. I saw her first on a record cover and I stopped immediately and had to take a closer look. I had to know who she was, what she was doing, and why. I have found her captivating and utterly sublime since the moment I first encountered her, and her lack of fear and bold choices, unapologetic approach to life have all contributed to the inspiration she brought to me. If she can be herself and be this fabulous, then maybe I can hold my head up high and be myself too.

I was 18 when this interviewed happened. Back then I always thought of Grace Jones as unattractive and scary. Looking at her now I see how absolutely stunning she is, and I realize she had been type cast, of course. She played those roles brilliantly. This video shows how far we've come since then in understanding how gender is perceived.
She wasn’t typecast but her uniqueness and bold choices was celebrated by those around her who saw it, we all just caught up to where she was. No offense, but the standard of beauty that she was displaying was not widely accepted by yourself, nor most of society so of course you would find her unattractive and scary. I’ll give it to you that since then you seen many different versions of what is beautiful since the beauty standard police’s doors have been broken down to let others in with different perspective and representation.
