Dolphin - All Scenes Powers | "Young Justice" Season 3 

I know Dolphin’s meta gene is basically just being able to survive underwater but her design is just so cool easily one of the best designs for minor characters I like that they made her different from the Atlantians by giving her those cool blue scales, it is sad she can never go above surface though but she seems happy 😊 Edit/Update: as of season 4 she can glow!! I love her she’s great I’m glad they kept her in the show

Ok. Does anyone else think she looks and sounds like Kida from Atlantis? The Disney Movie that is. The criminally underrated Disney movie.

As a Greek is very interesting for me that the Atlantian language is basically a version of Ancient Greek. I can understand some parts if a listen carefully. It's so cool and weird at the same time. I love it.

I can only imagine what Dolphin has been through. The way she spoke of bad men, how perceptive she was to notice Kalduram lied to his mentor and king, and how she assured Kaldur that he is most assuredly NOT a bad man but a good man (becuz she's right that bad men don't feel bad when they lie), how she didn't want to reveal her name from the surface world... She has been through a great deal even before Klarion got a hold of her, but it is uplifting to see her take so happily to her new life and new name in Atlantis

After all Kaldur went through with losing Tula and learning of his parentage, he's continued to push forward as a leader, got himself a boyfriend, and added to his family. I'm happy for him.

Kaldur speak with such maturity I really wish DC comics would make him like this.

Some DC Comics-based context, history, and clarification to Dolphin... *:)* 1.) *_Who is Dolphin?_** --* Debuting in DC Comics in *1968...* - a.) *Abduction -* As a small child, Dolphin was alien-abducted off a vacation cruise-liner by aquatic alien scientists (hiding in Earth's oceans) for "guinea pig" use in experimentation. The aquatic alien scientists' torturous experiments activated Dolphin's Metagene. After the aquatic alien scientists lost interest in their various experiment project(s), they left Dolphin (the sole survivor of the experimentations) to die in her cage. Dolphin managed to free herself and escape into the ocean wilds. - b. *Education -* Living ferally in the oceans for several years, Dolphin happened across a small community of human aquatic scientists (oceanographers, marine biologists, hydro-physicists, etc.), who took Dolphin in; both out of scientific curiosity, as well as earnest _Compassion._ Cared for, and eventually educated enough to communicate with other humans in-general (comics-Dolphin knows English and American Sign Language), Dolphin bid her adoptive family farewell to travel the oceans and the world, this time with an sense of intelligent awareness and explorative wonder. *[EDIT RE: Dolphin's name...* It was the human scientists who gave Dolphin her name, since Dolphin did not (could not) remember her birth name pre-abduction.] - c.) *Atlantean -* Across her travels, Dolphin would encounter Arthur Curry (Aquaman I), and her life with Atlantis, the Aqua-family, and the (overall) Metahuman Community would begin. Dolphin would become a citizen of Atlantis, fall in love with Garth (Aqualad I, Tempest), marry Garth, and bear Garth's son (Ceridian). - d.) *Death (2005) -* Tragically, both Dolphin and Ceridian would be among the thousands slain in the destruction of Atlantis by a corrupted and rampaging Spectre (a titanically powerful mystic being; DC Comics' 'Spirit of Vengeance', generally an Anti-Hero). 2.) *_Metahuman Nature/Powers..._* - a.) *Similar -* Rather obviously, Dolphin is capable of surviving underwater indefinitely, sharing many Atlantean traits: water breathing, depth pressure immunity, enhanced strength & toughness, swift swim speed, etc. - b.) *Different -* _UNLIKE_ standard Atlanteans (remember: Dolphin is a Metahuman), comics-Dolphin is physically stronger, tougher, and swifter (Dolphin is capable of outpacing most Atlanteans' swim-speeds). - c.) *Comics vs. Cartoon -* Additionally, unlike her YJ-depiction, comics-Dolphin is *_Amphibious,_* capable of surviving indefinitely on both dry land and underwater without any ill effects (like the rest of the Aqua-family); though as (obvious) personal preference, Dolphin prefers aquatic environments. Whether YJ-Dolphin will evolve to match comics-Dolphin's amphibious nature will be interesting to see, if they use Dolphin in YJ season 04+ (I certainly hope they will). 3.) *_Dolphin's Depiction in Young Justice (cartoon)..._* - a.) *Voice Actor -* Dolphin is voiced by *Tiya Sircar,* best known for her role as Mandalorian _Sabrine Wren_ from *[Star Wars: Rebels (2014-2019) CG cartoon].* This is why YJ-Dolphin is portrayed as a Hindi/Indian girl, to reflect her Voicer. - b.) *Comics vs. Cartoon (redux) -* This is opposed to comics-Dolphin, who was a platinum-blonde (white hair) Caucasian woman in low-rise mini-shorts and a _VERY_ tight (cleavage & midriff revealing) tank-top. Though as nods to her comics-counterpart, YJ-Dolphin retained her platinum-blonde (white) hair and tank-top (though a *FAR* more modest/conservative top than comics-Dolphin). *[Side-Note:* this is one of the reasons why the YJ-cartoon enjoys such an enduring following, YJ does not rely on cheap sex-pandering portrayals, but rather interesting &/or engaging characters.] - c.) *Why No Human Name? -* This is where the YJ-writers were limited. For comics-Dolphin, she never had a human name because comics-Dolphin simply could not remember what her human (birth) name was, due to comics-Dolphin's alien abduction as a very small child (barely past a toddler). So, to reflect that, YJ-Dolphin's lack of revealing her human name is *_deliberately_* glossed over. Thanks for uploading this, *Explore White.* :)

isn't it weird that everyone thought Dolphin and aqualad were going to be together? I expected that too, but then remembered that aqualad is in his late 20s and Dolphin is a teenager

Imagine being a kid, getting kidnapped, meeting what is essentially a devil and suddenly not being able to breathe air properly anymore

When I first saw Dolphin, I was like "YESSIR, my man Aqualad finna get all up in that 💪🏿" Then I saw the end of the episode, I was like "Nevermind 😮"

Imagine getting kidnapped to get powers only to get awakened... as a fish, biggest let down ever

Her design is pretty cool! Her white hair, and blue scales are awesomely cool!

I feel like they spent both too much and not enough time with this character... She could have been a good medium to segue into into Atlantis, which they did use her for, but then they had her give this deeply insightful speech to Kaldur about his doubts which leads us to think she's going to play a role in the rest of the season (or at the very least least in his arc)... And then they just cut her off of the script. She's right in the middle of "too much character development" and "not enough use of a character".

Did no one ever think how weird this scene is? The pacing and action. Presumably, Kaldur meets girl, none of them can understand each other, but kaldur knows she wants to go to Atlantis. They arrive, and only then, does kaldur use translation magic 🤨 Oh and also, in all that time, no one has run a background check on her, find out her name, wheres shes from etc. "Oh you never introduced yourself" And she's also used as a device to ask a question that the answer can be self-evident.
