I love this version of Starfire. She's exactly what I imagine a grown-up Teen Titans Star would be. She's clearly older and wiser, but still just as fun-loving and a bit of dope. She's perfect.
@@mr.checkyourself4672 In the case of the movie, I think it's more unaware sexuality. She's open about her relationship with Nightwing, but everything else is just her not being aware.
Seems like Damian forgets that SF is a celestial warrior princess with the powers of a demigoddess. Yes, Damian may be very smart like his father, but dumb as bricks in not making her an ally and/or friend when crime fighting.
When Starfire is talking with Damian, you can tell she is thinking the whole time "If you werent legally related to my engaged I would totally send you to space and detonate on you like a nuclear warhead."
I really hope DC continues with this kind of Starfire in their new universe. She's nearly perfect in how I would like her character to be. Plus her relationship with Nightwing in this is the cutest and I will pay money to see it continue
Starfire and Nightwing getting their good ending is all that matters. When they showed those "future" episodes in Teen Titans, they warned of the multiple ways things could go South. The fact that they end up like this is nice.
@@xmxaxs it’s 2 movies. 1st is Teen Titans vs Justice League and the 2nd is Teen Titans: Judas Contract. both of them are apart of the dcamu which is a cohesive animated universe similar to the MCU
This is one of my favorite versions of Star-Fire. A matured version who is a good leader and knows when to put her faith and trust in others. Wish we saw more of her
Not clueless just uncaring. Kori has no inhabitions or weird human qualms/hang ups about sexuality, femininity, nudity, sex only relationships, polyamory etc.
Dick is just being a gentleman despite Starfire physical attraction... Also I don't think SF is clueless, more like she hardly has any filter whether it's what she wears, her relationship,... or sex life.
DC should just stick with the animations. Their characters have way more heart and soul there than in any of the live action garbage we got in the DC Cinematic Universe.
Honestly, they nailed this version of her to the teeth. If I didn't know better, I'd argue this and the Teen Titan one are the same, especially with the relationship between Dick and her
I can see this Starfire being the more wise, mature, flirty, feminine and sexually aware version of TT Starfire. My only issue with TT Starfire was how she was reduced to the “alien bimbo” but you can’t exactly have a character like Starfire (specifically 80s Starfire) in a rated G cartoon.
@@Gemini053 she had her moments though, the best episodes in the show follow the main plot of the seasons, those are the ones where every character shines. The filler episodes are rarely good for obvious reasons. S2’s Tara episodes are some of my favorite in media, and the last episodes Things Change? Perfect
I enjoy the fight of Starfire and Nightwing. Nightwing may have been trained by Batman but Starfire have had multiple masters who were all warlords from a different planet. Koriand'r simply just has more experience than Grayson ever had in combat being a galactic warrior princess.
It's also worth noting that she's physically stronger than him by a degree that makes doing even moderately well in a physical fight a massive achievement. Like...she wins that by grabbing his baton and twisting it behind his back. Decent chance that had, say, grown up damian from Apokolips War tried that, Nightwing would have been able to do something, but when your opponent is stronger than any mortal man ever will be, things change. It's why the entire concept of Batman fighting superstrong characters up close has been a fucking joke since the first time it happened.
Idk. The animators shit on Nightwing a lot. He should've been able to disarm her. She is stronger but Nightwing has trained with the best fighters in the DC universe. I mean he was winning too but she grabbed the baton and just swept his feet
2:42 Starfire: "We just knew they needed help. You have to have a little faith sometimes." Robin: "Faith is belief based on an absence of data. It invites disaster." Both have a point: be good for good's sake, but don't believe without proof.
@@maddox_4000 you're not wrong. The advertising for this whole universe was poorly done and no one really paid attention until Apokolips War. Sam Liu (who helped create much of the universe) implied in interviews that he wanted to do at least one more TT movie with Blackfire
Yes, that’s why this version of her is my favorite bc she isn’t too high tempered as her 2003 version but she also isn’t energetic and weird as her 2013 version either
I love these portrayals for kori and dick. Dick has the right amount of “I don’t wanna be like Batman but I respect Bruce and appreciate all he did for me” and kori seems like the perfect adult version of star fire still very kind and just a tiny bit dopey alien to earth.
I'm so glad she moved on from her initial interpretations in the comics of just "Heheheh sex!" instead she does feel like someone who's gotten used to Earth, but is still missing some things.
the "personal" jokes between nightwing and starfire had me shook, especially at 7:15. i only ever watched teen titans from 2003 so i really was shocked by this.
In my opinion this is the best version of Starfire, better than the 2003 teen titans series Starfire, and DEFINITELY better than Teen Titans Go Starfire. She’s especially good at teaching things too, especially the thing she taught Dick last weekend
Out of everyone, why did Superman have to plan the attack on Apokolips😭😭😭. I absolutely love this version of Nightwing and Starfire and it makes me sad how we wont ever see it the same again in the reboot
Honestly, I'm baffled at everyone who thought it was a terrible idea. Damien and everyone else should shut up and realize that while the attack failed, it DELAYED Darkseid's endgame for FIVE whole years. Had they simply waited on Earth, the results would have been the same--except this time, the engine on Apokolips would be up and running and it's game over for Earth. Just because the attack failed doesn't mean it's a horrible plan. It accomplished at least something. There was NOTHING they could do about the Paradooms on Earth or on Apokolips. It's even worse if they had stayed and waited.
@@KariBaj SPOILER ALERT! She, alongside all the other Teen Titan members (except for Damian and Raven who survived) were killed, although Starfire was ultimately revived, she was revived by Darkseid as half-machine and his slave although she and all the other brainwashed characters were free from Darkseid's control during the end.
Damian is Bruce without the experience to back up his confidence. Edit: Skill is not the same as experience. Edit 2: I made this comment before watching any of the movies, so give me a break.
Except you know he won't willingly let you punch him since he was trained under the league of assassins and the fact that he also trained under batman so you wanting to punch him is a unreal scenario if you were in their universe
The fact that Starfire "died" before Dick in that abysmally horrendous movie that is "Apokolips War" is beyond me. Also, i didn't know Starfire follows Sailor Moon protocols to dress up.
@@Xsjr03 It isn't comics, this is a film series, and the entire universe those films take place in - one built up over years - ended at the end of the movie in question. The Flash hit the reset button and unmade the world in favor of a slightly different one, just like he *started* that universe by doing. A different Dick and a different Starfire might get to have a similar relationship, eight years from now when whatever DC Rebirth Animated Movie Universe no one is currently working on reaches that point, but it's just as likely they don't.
Apokolips War was pretty incredible and among the best things DC has done for years. Moreover...she *didn't* . She was twisted into one of Darkseid's furies, but Dick *literally* died, and Damian failed to resurrect him properly so he's basically just an insane, dangerous, empty shell. Even as the world came to its end, Starfire was embracing Dick but *he* was confined to a straight jacket and showed no sign of understanding his surroundings.
@@iusethisnameformygoogleacc1013 yeah I loved how even after the war they won but not without losses millions were dead. So at the end Barry had to rewrite time which seemed to be best conclusion to the series. It ended the way it started, the movie was more impactful than endgame to me
This is my favorite art style that DC rolled out for animation. Sad to have seen it go. It's good to get others like Gotham by gaslight but it's still the best. Justice League Dark & Son of Batman were some faves.
5:26 Keys are still objectively rocks because they are made of metal which is a hard substance from the ground. Come on Tara, you're supposed to be a rock expert 💀💀 I'm obviously joking
This is Starfire perfectly captured! And the love and focus given to her relationship with Nightwing is wonderful, love coming back to this! Now if only the comics could treat their romance with the same respect.
I get why you would say that but I'm LOVING the new animation style for the new DCAU like Batman: The Long Halloween Part 1 and 2, which looked visually FANTASTIC and gorgeous to see!
Nightwing: “how about we do that move you taught me last weekend” Starfire: “now? I admire your boldness but what would the team think?” Nightwing:”WHAT?” I love these two 😂
Damian is such a little bratty twerp. I love him. And the scene where Starfire and Nightwing are video chatting and he’s trying to get it in but instead she gets an idea about how to get through to Damian is pure gold.
@@craigpeoples9883 1. Bruce also distrust people with less power than MM. 2. if mind-reader cannot be trusted, then why he gives leeway to zatanna, or aquaman (yes, aquaman is also a telepath).
I had a feeling they would end up together eventually. Robin and starfire have had a well good relationship Ever since the old days with the teen titans.
@@Dawnyy they could be because not everything changes in flashpoint/when Barry reversed time. In the CW Barry still manages to bag iris even though he saved his mum and dad from dying
I sure hope they keep this relationship with the reboot, these two are just so natural together I can't imagine them not ending up together at all regardless of a flash time reset
