Dolphin DX5i Robot Pool Cleaner Review 

Great question. In short, the mapping capabilities are very very good on this Dolphin DX5i. However, with all units, it’s kind of like watching a robotic vacuum work… it’s best just to let it do its thing for two or three hours and it will get the job done. If you stand and watch it too close you’ll start to question some of its logic. That said, I would put this unit in the top tier of mapping robots. There are many units that will absolutely make you pull your hair out, but the DX5i is not one of those! If I can add a couple of thoughts since I assume you are searching. I think one of the best features to consider is finding a unit with nano filtration. This unit does not have that ability, and different companies call it different things, but basically the ability for the unit to filter out micro particles is very helpful in achieving crystal clear water without relying solely on your pool filter. It’s not a must have, but it’s worth looking at. My last thought is that this unit is two or three years old. No doubt it is a really good unit, I just wonder if getting a latest greatest model might be something to consider, or preferably get this one at a slight discount since it’s not the latest model but it is a great model.
