This was a perfect tutorial! Quick, to the point, and gave all the information you need. I watched two other youtube videos on this and couldn't figure out what was going on..... Thank you so much!
i dissagree he didnt make it clear how to show the game boxes to show up inside the dolphin box where the game video shows up, im having trouble with that part, this video didnt help at all
@@nicholaslee8904 oh shit fr?? I am more than happy that I looked at the comments. I am so glad I found yours lol you just saved my computer, thank you very much!
After my Wii broke, I didn't think I would ever play Lego Star Wars ever again. I tried to emulate it, but I couldn't find a good tutorial on how to do so. That is, until I found this video. Now I can play some buttery-smooth LSW to my heart's content. Thanks a bunch!
Such a good tutorial. Very easy to follow. I was struggling because I was using a developer version and I couldn't successfully unzip any of the files. The stable version was fine. Thank you so much
@@ibee5213 okay so idk if u got it yet but you can just create a folder anywhere on your PC, then open dolphin emulator, press config - paths and then just add your folder there, after that it should work ;-)
@@Isaacvermette778 okay so idk if u got it yet but you can just create a folder anywhere on your PC, then open dolphin emulator, press config - paths and then just add your folder there, after that it should work ;-)
thank u dude now i can play sonic colors on this its my first sonic game i ever played as a kid so thank u so much for makeing my dream finelly come true
I’m trying to play hit and run on my laptop as well I downloaded the iso file on dolphin but when I open the game it shows the title information but then just doesn’t do anything, it’s just stuck on that screen forever
I've always wanted to play Legend of Zelda, Twilight Princess and this tutorial helped me get it up and running in just a few minutes. Thanks so much for making such a great tutorial, you got straight to the point, it was quick, informative and gave good advice. Keep up the good work!
Out of all the videos I’ve ever watched trying to dolphin emulation you are the only one that actually explains it right and actually shows me how to do it
@@jellyboba9991 Yeah I was grabbing the wrong download. I think the “5 years ago” of the stable build threw me off, and the beta builds have like extra steps I couldn’t figure out. I grabbed the proper one though and it was ez money.
thank you so much my man, i'm technologically impaired to say the very least but now i can still play path of radiance without spending $100 on the disc. people like you are the unsung heroes of the emulation world, mad respect to you!
thank you so much! ive been looking at tutorials everywhere and none of them showed how to get the actual games lol. thanks for making this a really painless process!!
Thanks, I've always used Dolphin Emulator on my android to play Harvest Moon, Star Fox, etc. Never knew how to download it on my PC. This makes it quick and simple. Thanks again.
By far the best video on this topic. You covered everthing perfectly. I watched a few videos on this and was lost af, but watching yours I got it working right away. Even following the details of what link you clicked for the game download, so that I didnt chose a sketchy site. Youre a champ for this one mate.
I'm able to download the games and extract them. I'm also able to run them. But for whatever reason, I can't see the games on my actual dolphin game list, I have to go into my files and run the game through a disc version of the game in my "DolphinGames' folder. I followed everything on the video, down to every detail. any help or ideas? good tutorial btw
Idk if I’m late but ima put this here for other people to when it says didn’t detect any Wii or game cube game files double click to add a game directory and put the game file you downloaded which will be in the dolphin directory if you extracted it already with 7 zip
I followed all the steps and got the same version of everything as you as they're the most recent as I have seen. The Dolphin folder has a bunch of different folders and I assume the Gamecube folder is the one labelled GC since i saw no others related to Gamecube. Then there was a few Country named folders so I just clicked the USA one and placed a game file in there, I used 7-zip to extract the files to that folder and then it says the file is corrupted and also nothing shows up on the emulator software in the games area like yours did.
When I try to extract it it says "cannot open file as archive" please help. The games that I have managed to extract just show up in a black screen window with the name of the game.
For some reason i tried to play mario party 8 and dolphin identifies it as a gamecube game, because of that the game don't open, could you help me please?
how do you get that list of games at 3:39? When I download wii or gamecube games. Nothing shows up. To play them. I have to go into dolphin files and manually start up the game through the files. They play but the list doesn't show up on dolphin.
You have to double click the empty space on the front page of dolphin and it should take you to file explorer to select a game folder. Just select the folder with the game you wanna play, and you should be good :)
The tutorial works thank you! But when I get into the actual game of mario kart wii, the fps drops significantly and it means that I can't play at all, what would you suggest? Thank you.
That is very odd! You can try using the most recent development build of Dolphin, and people suggest online using the OpenGL Backend (located in Graphics tab) . Like others said, if nothing works, try reducing the settings all the way and experiment with some setting in the config and graphics such as Clock override. Hope this helps!
I LOVE the Dolphin emulator so fucking much! And i use it with the original controller. The setup is so easy and the emulation is so accurate. A golden statue for the founders of this emulator! Happy time, take care, nice sunday, and best wishes from germany.
I think I mentioned it in the video but if you are talking about in game, the dolphin emulator should be able to create a memory card location for you. If you are talking about specifically save states, try to go to your dolphin folder, then try to delete the folder statesaves, and your memorycard in GC subfolder. THIS WILL DELETE YOUR GAME PROGRESS. I hope this helps, I don't use save states ever personally so I don't know too much.
I’ve really been wanting to play pokepark and Kirby yarn again since they are my nostalgic comfort games but our Wii U is almost ufunctional. Thank you for this tutorial, I found out about dolphin but didn’t know how to figure it out :)
Hello thank you for the easy to understand tutorial you've saved me alot of time. I have a question with regards to the pointing aspect of some mario games is it automatically configured to a stick or is there something else I must do?
