What's so crazy is I talked to my grandmother about 2 months ago. Dolton sent her a water bill for $2000 and told her she had to pay or get disconnected. She pays all her bills on time she went back and forth with them for a month and they finally said they read her meter wrong and her bill was much lower. I feel they target alot of older people because some won't question and just go ahead and pay

That's so wrong... I'm so sorry that happened to your grandmother. I hope that didn't shake her up too bad. At least she stuck to her guns and wouldn't let the water company extort her. I feel so bad for the other older folks or the mentally vulnerable who are also victims to this scam...a scam that the towns local these utilities companies are pulling.
Get a lawyer now, sue the govt and get a fat pay check! You can actually sue multiple entities for this. The town govt, county govt, state govt, water municipality, the payment processors, the mayor (big one), the town municipality, and probably even more, everyone even remotely involved. Find a good law firm whos down to sue across the board.
OMG $300,000 salary plus expenses and perks while the median income is $22,000 is vulgar and ethically shocking. How has this gone on so long? How can this so call "mayor" look at herself in the mirror? What is next? This is what happens when people vote without doing their research. This so call woman didn't start acting like this yesterday. The voters should have seen this coming before she was voted in.

Her refusal to truthfully answer the LVegas questions are all that’s needed. Also, a town were the average income is $24K, probably should not have a mayor who is paid $287K.
People keep voting her into office, so that's on them. I have no sympathy for the taxpayers who vote for her and then complain about her.

I think this is her first term, but I am not sure. It should most assuredly be her last term based upon the news reports showing her misdeeds. It sounds to me like an independent investigation needs to be conducted without her interference. If that demonstrates no wrong doing then she is vindicated. If she has done nothing wrong, then she has nothing to hide and should be happy to allow properly trained accountants to look at the financial records. Based upon the actions in the news report, she is going to jail for fraud, embezzlement and probably several other things. Of course this is Chicago so probably nothing gets done about it....

She goes to lavish restaurants and she takes lavish trips on the taxpayers' dime. What is it with the ego of black women when they get a little power position? I moved to a smaller city and was unfortunately entertained on the useless actions of a former black, female mayor. She wore insanely expensive everything, always wore very high heels, those things are uncomfortable, and she always paraded around with lots of armed security. This is a city where not much happens. Her predecessor, never had security present. He drove his own car everywhere he went. We now have another black female mayor, who doesn't seem to know much of anything, but is fairly rude and arrogant. This city is so boring and uninterested, the president could be walking downtown and virtually no one would notice or care, even if they voted for him. Remember Cory Bush with her armed security? She claimed that there was an attempt on her life. I think the security is there to prevent her from accidentally offing herself. When you put a nobody in a power position, it abuses it.

I dont know how she acted before elections but i dont think she was "professional" before suddenly going rogue. Dolton is a great example of what the late Rush Limbaugh called the "low information voter." They never pay attention to politics until a week before an election and then go and vote for the politician offering "free stuff" or they vote for the candidate the state run corporate media tells them to vote for.

Trustees have also added millions in expenses to the Village by refusing to pay bills to vendors. Clearly both parties hate each other and it is the Village that pays the price.
