Great video 👌, I was playing to install one in my ute canopy which does does not have side access. If you don't mind can you pls advice if it's safe to install it on a slid so that I can have it pushed all the way back. Thanks
I've got the same fridge in my van mate and yep they don't like the heat a lot . They're all good on 240v but struggle on 12v especially if the sun is directed at them, in the tropix that is, goodluck your fridge is new and mine not so....!!!
hi sir, we appreciate the review. So does this keep the food cold consistently? there are some video's out there saying these don't keep the food cold enough... and how do you find the power consumption?
It is a lot colder towards the back of fridge I've even had a couple of beers start icing up, but it does take a bit longer to cool down when first turned on.
@@rollinrosssadventure1443 ok great, and what about power consumption, can't remember if you touched on this but what sort of setup are you running to support this ?
I run a 105amp deep cycle battery and a 200w solar panel on the roof and that keeps up no worries. It does draw a bit more power than an Engel fridge but it is 110lt.
Can you please let me know how you have gone with this fridge in hot weather. We are in Australia as well and want to know if it works when it's bloody hot.
It was OK but you have to manage and pack it properly. Beer on top shelf towards the back to get colder. Doesn't get as cold as say an Engel. I haven't got this rig anymore have updated and running the Bushmans upright now so we'll see how that one goes.
I appreciate the reply and your honesty. The appeal of this unit is it can be ran off of 240v too where as the bushman is only powered by 12v. Hopefully you have better luck with the bushman, I've heard good things about them. Looks like my 40L engel will stay in the car after your experiences with the upright
Can you confirm the average amperage consumption or watts per day? You mentioned 3 amps however that only provides an indication of the consumption when cycling. Appreciate your time and thanks for the content. Cheers
@@rollinrosssadventure1443 I realise that however it is still possible to provide an average consumption whilst stating the average ambient temperature. Having read some of the feedback on your review I did notice that I am not the only one interested in the data. I've been contemplating an upright to replace my National Luna (NL) which will be moved into the camper however the power consumption is critical to my purchase decision on a fridge. My NL fridge has been in constant use in the back of my cruiser for 10 years and has proven itself to not only be reliable (as per your Engel) but also superior in terms of insulation when compared to the majority of brands. Cheers
