Because of this, I brought this swag, being my 1st swag.. I can confirm it is the best thing ever so easy to set up very lightweight, so spacious, my partner and I had plenty of room. I slept on the mat only as he slept on the mat plus extra padding, I slept like a baby. I'm about to season it today. Will update... I love it highly recommend... Thanks Ben/Snowys
Dang, Ben, that may just be the single only swag that has never set off my claustrophobia just looking at it! What a beautiful, roomy space it seems. Tho I'm sure part of that is just the fact your pitch is tight as a drum, which I could probs never manage. Merry Xmas to all the Snowfolk!🎄Thanks for another year of outdoor inspiration.
It's actually really easy to pitch, Mystery LovesCompany, I'm sure you'd have no problems. Merry Christmas to you too, I'm glad you have enjoyed our content this year. ~ Ben
Looks ok. Correct about being a more usable packed size and weight. Only a matter of time before copies appear to force a more economical price. Did I miss a set up and pack video ? Cheer’s
Looks great! Wish i'd seen this before i bought my Oz tent rs1....... I love inflatable tents. Ive got a Zempire Pronto 5 which has been awesome. So easy to put up, pack and store.
I also purchased the Pronto 5 and love it! It’s why I have an interest in this baby and maybe sell my 23zero swag.. This is pretty pricey though, and doubt it would hold up well in the rain… 🤷♂️
In my probably not needed opinion, if you are looking for ease of setup, and want an all-in-one solution that doesn't require poles, and you have a fairly open budget, then by all means, grab this swag. I have no doubt it is a solid product. But if you're on a tight budget, and don't mind spending a bit of time setting up your sleeping space, grab something else. I hate to be Negative Norman but I would hope the air pockets are near bulletproof, and hopefully comes with a complimentary portable coffee maker. The monetary investment to make on this great camping swag requires good coffee to appreciate, and super-reinforced air pockets. I see the convenience but would hope Dometic gets realistic with whatever they wholesale these for. For sake of argument, I reckon I could buy a two-person pole tent and a heavy-duty tarp as an all-weather fly, plus ropes, and a self-inflating mattress, which may be a little more work to set up, but would weigh less, arguably take up less space (well, maybe not) and be a fraction of the price of this swag. Yes, a good product from Dometic but for me, it seems way overpriced for what it is.
It is pricey, Brad, thanks for your thoughts, we love hearing everyone's opinion on new products. Air poles are becoming more and more reliable and if you think about it, there is only a few points of contact with the ground where a puncture from sharp objects can occur, and those points have 3-4 layers of fabric over the actual bladder. On top of that the bladders are tested to well in excess of the recommended inflation PSI, and furthermore, if a puncture does occur then they will require repair just as you would if a steel or alloy frame bent or broke. As you can probably tell, I'm becoming quite a fan of air filled tent frames, I think they are far more forgiving than rigid frames. ~ Ben
@@SnowysOutdoors That's comforting(?) nice to know with respect to the strengths of the air bladders. Maybe my 'ancient' experience with earlier 'airbeds' and such clouds my trust of well-made air swags and tents. Guaranteed when I get my ute sorted I'll be into the local Snowys to get up-to-speed on all this new tech :o).
@@BradGryphonn air tents have been around for quite some time on other countries, we are just a little slow on the uptake here in Australia. Check them out in the shop when you get a chance, I'm sure you'll be impressed with how durable and sturdy the frames are. ~ Ben
Could you put this swag on something such as the wanderer stretchers to raise it. Just those gyropes and poles don't look like they would extend long enough to reach the ground level.
I think this one is best on the ground, you could make it work but you'd need to muck around with securing the corners and you would need to extend the guy ropes. ~ Ben
@SnowysOutdoors thanks. These things look great, but dometic really kooked it with that thin, non insulated mat. I was in at Snowys on the weekend and tried it out, I really wanted to like it, but for the price I just can't fathom what dometic were thinking with that mat.
Great idea. I would have looked at this if it was around just before I had bought my 23zero 1400 bandit swag.. Wonder how it would handle the rain compared to the 23zero..
I was considering an air swag and looked at reviews of Darche Airvolution and decided against it. Seems that the air poles don't really do too well with warm days and cold nights and the roof ends up sagging down, have Dometic come up with a way to fix this?
There is always going to be a change in pressure inside the air poles as temperature fluctuates, there's no way around this. You'd probably be best inflating it to the recommended pressure at a cooler time of the day, that way it will maintain that pressure and stability through the cool of the night. The poles have been tested to well in excess of the recommended pressure, so when the warm up and get tighter during the day they will be fine. ~ Ben
These are literally brand new on the market, so its hard to know how snow load would go without real life feedback. The poles are pretty strong and the roof tapers a fair bit, so with the awning down I think it should go ok. Sorry we cant give you more of a guarantee at this stage! ~ Lauren
I'm not sure where the pump is made sorry, but the quality really comes down to the integrity of the Brand and the quality control measures they have in place with the factories. Good product does come out of China, and Dometic have high standards. This pump feels solid, so I wouldn't be concerned about the quality. ~ Ben
@@justingoeree you can inflate it with whatever you want I guess. You'll need something to fit the valve, and make sure you don't use something too powerful so as to overinflate it. ~ Ben
An Oztent Stratus Double self inflating mat is a perfect fit, comfortable and due to its rounded corners easily fits into the swag. Add it on top of the inbuilt matress.
been waiting for you guys to do this one, and i think you have settled me on my next swag purchase, what is the blow up matt like? i think it will go really well with my exped mega mat, looks like the single which is what i want will be really good for the back of the motorbike
We've just filmed the video for the single, Mick, should be live in the next week or two I reckon. The mat is pretty good, more like a compact hike mat but it's comfortable once inflated to the recommended 2psi. It may be cold to sleep on in winter as its not insulated, so it could be worth adding a blanket or think closed cell foam mat over the top for extra insulation on cold nights. A thin mat on top of the integrated mat would likely roll up inside the swag as there's plenty of excess space in the carry bag. ~ Ben
We don't have a wind tunnel, or the funds, to be able to wind test them sorry. But, I'd say that if you have it well pegged out it will withstand some pretty serious weather. ~ Ben
You can see current pricing on our website, Greg - www.snowys.com.au/pico-ftc-2x2-tc-inflatable-2-person-swag. They aren't cheap but they are top quality products. ~ Ben
It's not cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but it is in line with other inflatable swags, the benefits of this one is that it packs up so small. ~ Ben
I think they're referring to the cheap looking tarp base, I would have liked to see them use 420D Polyoxford PVC base. They'll get it right on version 2.0.. Velcro USB rechargable warm white strip LEDs for the roof would be good and a rechargeable fast inflater and a heavy duty carry bag would be good, something they all seem to skimp out on..
@@adamwightwick9235 the crinkly PU tent floor material, while having a cheap appearance, is actually a really durable and reliable material for tent floor. ~ Ben
@@SnowysOutdoors yeah but there's something about the 420D that Coleman uses on their Gold Series that has a much nicer and more durable feel about it. I'd probably want a ground sheet under the Pico tarp floor, definitely don't need that with the 420D.
