At 14 I was drinking whisky with my 2 pals, playing punk hardcore in a garage, until ethylic coma. Yeah... congrats Domi :D you made good choices in your life :D
Between the dissonance, the 3/4 time, and just the sheer speed and technicality, this song shreds. Another proof that some classical music is just metal for piano.
Moreso you believe the fundamentalist western convention that women’s aesthetic conformity renders them valued and intelligent. Her terrifying fingers were the star of the show anyway.
Amazing. And of course, she’s only even more amazing now. I’m very glad she got into the genre of music she has because I’m not a fan of playing or listening to classical music. She’s such a great talent and even a prodigy of the craft. I love what Domi does!
Well, that was _okay._ 😄 It was weird to hear just a polite smattering of applause after that performance. It's clear now that Domi is a once-in-a-generation talent.
She completed conservatory in France, completed Berklee's performance pianist and not sure if she is still there for something additional. Genius level, not less.
I was inclined to disagree but then I remembered Bill Evans was also classically trained and he was one of the few jazz players with deeply controlled touch. I’d say classical training still has a monopoly on developing even, nuanced and expressive touch on the keys, but all the notes she’s playing these days is 100% jazz theory and language.
This is the speed it's generally played at. And nope, not "robot level ability". This performance is filled with so many wonderful touches and textures. Robots don't understand the nuances of human expression like this.
